What does my dream mean? – How to explore your dream meanings:
There are several ways you can understand the meanings held in your dreams, and there are several levels. The first is an easily understood level, followed by greater depths:
- You can enter a key word in the search box above. The Dream Dictionary contains interpretations on almost any type of dream subject. So if you dreamt of a flying saucer landing in a field, and aliens getting out and taking a baby, a snake, and a pregnant dog back into the saucer, you could search separately for each of these subjects in the Dream Dictionary. Find the entry for flying saucer; then the entry for dog, baby, snake, pregnant, and so on. For each entry, find further related entries by looking under “Similar Articles” on the right hand side of the page.
- Each entry gives the general meaning of the dream subject, just as an encyclopedia or dictionary does for a word. Several possible meanings are given. This is because as with our speech the position of the word – the context – gives it special meanings. So a hot dog would be quite different to a black dog, dog-end or dead dog. So when you read an entry which has several different meanings, sometimes with a ‘;’ between, it simply means any one of them could apply. So you need to think about the feelings in your dream, the context, the other imagery used. Please do not fall into the trap that one reviewer made of saying that the whole dictionary is about sex. Of course sex is one meaning among many others. So use your own sense of your dream as well as any definitions given.
- If you are writing in comments for a dream interpretation, please describe the dream as fully as you can, and if it is relevant add your age your life and situation.
- To really explore the meaning it is useful to use the Dream Dictionary as it is designed, rather than arrive at a ‘thought out’ interpretation. To see a working example of this see ‘Dream Interpretation Example One’.

Your dreams can become vortexes of power to transform your life, and to enhance your perceptions. There is no ‘wave a magic wand’ route to this. It will not happen because you read a great book, or look at a good dream dictionary. Those things might help, but the real magic lies in whether you can enter into your dream in the right way.

I recentley had a dream that I was pregnant and I was only pregnant for 3 weeks. I had a baby girl and she was beautiful. I had her with artificial insemination. What does that mean. I also months ago had a dream about a handsome baby boy that was my child. Help me to understand Please.
Shaterra – I feel that the reason you dream that your baby was conceived by artificial insemination was because you wanted a baby and as you have no partner it had to be artificial. But in dreams we need no man or a man’s sperm to have a baby.
So the baby is a special and new part of yourself that you have given birth to. Guard them both well and nurse them till they are strong and grown enough to become capable and helpful parts of your life. See http://dreamhawk.com/pregnancy-childbirth/the-baby-in-your-dream/

My grandparents died several years ago and their house is in disrepair. I haven’t been there or dreamed of it in over 6 or 7 years. Three nights ago I dreamed that I had a boa constrictor that I needed a box for so I went into my grandparents old house. There were squatters living there and they pulled a gun on me but eventually I eased their fears and they let me go, it even seems that it ended positively. Last night I was talking to my father and he told me of the dream he had the night before that disturbed him so much that he told his wife about it. He had gone into my grandparents house and strangers were living there and wouldn’t leave and started threatening him. It escalated and he ended up shooting 7 people. The police came but it was in self-defense so he wasn’t in trouble. He said it was very real, that he could feel the gun kick and watched the people fall. He hasn’t dreamed of their house since they died either. Is this just a coincidence?
About a week ago I had a dream that I was driving down a road and in the trees I saw a body hanging in the tree and when I stopped to get a better look and to call the police I realized the body was that of a little boy and that he was alive. I ended up cutting him down by the time the police came and some how the boy ended up comming home with me. At my house he asked me if I was married or single and I told him I was married and I also asked him why. He told me that some man by the name of tony saloua said that he was old enough to have a child and that he wanted to have a kid with me. I told him that he was too young to have a child since he was only 8 yrs old. We ended up gettin in to an suv and started to drive down the road when a nother car rammed our car and the boy said that that was the man name tony. Tony’s car rammed us again and our car ended up crashing, I woke up during the crash. I have no idea on what this dream means or may mean. Also I have had many dreams with babies and young children but none have ever been like this and the gender of the kids are always boys.
My Boyfriend had a dream that he was meeting my parents for the first time (he has already met them a number of times). Except they were not the same people, much more typically american(we’re from the gulf islands). He remembers really trying to impress them.
Were wondering what this means
This is a wonderful website, thank you so much for doing what you do

Küstenpatent – I feel the dream is about authority figures, as you say they were not the same people and appeared more typical of Americans. The fact he was trying to impress them suggests that he was seeking some favour or wanted to be thought well of. So ask him what he was seeking from an American influence.

i dreamed that a flying raccoon went way up into the air & came back down to sit on a tree branch right above my head & then the hair on the raccoon turned into porcupine needles
please help me figure out what my dream means…
i was in this average sized house that ive never seen before babysitting my 2 year old cousin named makai while my stepdad was in his room eating popcorn. makai was playing with these creepy looking wooden toys. one was about a 9″ colorful horse with wheels as legs and i forgot what the other one looked like. my cousin then stood up and paused with this scary grin on his face. his brown eyes then turned red and he slowly opened his mouth to show me these huge monster-like pointy teeth. as he then tried to attack me i yelled, “anthony!” (my stepdad ) he replied, “what, im watching the game” (he is never that rude). i ran out of my room while makai was chasing me to find a short hallway with a staircase. while running, i stumbled because there was this random open glass panel on the floor in my path to the staircase so i quickly closed it. makai almost bit me when i started to run down the staicase. i then woke up.
Brittany – The images in your dream are very much stereotypes of films where horror is shown; the eyes turning red and the big threatening teeth. So it seems that your dream use them to represent frightening feelings and fear. I have found that with such dreams that if you drop the image – of Makai and when it has gone see what the feeling that is left. That feeling, minus the image is what your dream is about. The dream image is used because it helps you to remember the dream.
The themes of the dream are that you are in a new environment – the house – looking after a younger part of you. Remember that dreams use images of other people to represent our own feelings and thoughts. Something frightens you in that new environment – and another stereotype image, the adult doesn’t take any notice of us when danger is there. And you run away from what appears to be a threat, but why run away? In dreams nothing can hurt you, so frighten the thing back. See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/questions/#FaceFear

Had a dream that took place in my home. Was being raped by 2 men one which looked farmilular to me. They also cut me with a sharp object. The cuts were made on both my legs; a straight cut from knee to ankle and the other one on the thigh. I know I have been crying in the dream because when I woke up I still had the hiccups of a cry
Angie – This is an awful dream, but it can be changed.
Have you had, or do you feel as if you have had bad experiences with men; or a difficult relation with you father, as these can lead to such dreams.
Whether it is that or not, it is definitely about feeling anxious about allowing men in an intimate situation. But you can fight in your dreams. You are not powerless. Here are two examples.
“I tried to turn but my legs were like lead. The man caught me and I fought. He tried to rape me but couldn’t do it. As I talked to him I began to feel sorry for him and not frightened. I realised that inside he was a nice person. In the end I found I liked him so much I began to kiss him myself.’ Mrs J.B.”
Here the dreamer turns her feelings completely around. And this is possible because any image in a dream is only your own emotions clothed in the dream drama. After all, there is nobody else with you in your mind while you sleep.
And this is a case of a traumatic event still influencing the way the woman feels for years – ye she got over it.
“A man is trying to make love and at the last moment I repel him as I know it will cause a pregnancy. When I was about ten I was raped and for many years had a fear of men.’ Anon.”

Dream of huge , ship sized, boulders falling from the sky. Running from them
I dreamt…It was a cold cloudy evening and that I was walking aside both my parents (which are deceased). We were walking along this path next to the ocean. I remember looking down and I was walking on a layer of thin ice, barefoot. I thought to myself why did I leave the house without any shoes on but we were in a rush to go somewhere, I do not recall. I then commented on how the beautiful the water looked. Suddenly, my mother walks over by the fence/edge and I called out to her to be careful. Right when I said that, she was saying something I do not recall and she went around the fence and jumped down into the icy ocean, as if committing suicide. My dad tried to run to her but we couldn’t get her. I remember seeing her fall underneath. I then called for help and a rescue diver showed up but was hesitant to get in due to improper equipment. Lastly, I remember madly pleading with him that he must hurry and get to her….then I awoke. I don’t have any idea what would be the underlying message of this. Thanks
I keep having dreams where i am in a scary movie. sometimes im watching it, sometimes im a character, and sometimes the story is rewritten to my life. its terrifying. i also had a dream where i was getting kidnapped from my own house. as me and the kidnapper were leaving my house, i noticed a party across the street and just about everyone i ever knew was at that party. one of my best guy friends tried to save me from the kidnapper but couldnt. so we hugged and kissed before i got in the car and got taken away forever. my last words to him were “i love you”. what does this mean?
segearher
Exactly.
I just recently had a dream about moving back into my childhood home, it was dark, and all my lights were off except my night light, and my door was open all the way(i never leave my door open when i’m sleeping) and i was just walking around my room confused of why I was there, i also felt mad and depressed for going back to the house. I just wanna know what that means.
