Eagle

The eagle can represent several things, depending upon its context in your dream. It can point to the powerful, strong hunting instinct in business or in being a providing parent. It can depict protective strength; a male figure; relentlessness. Dominance or a male figure. It is certainly an uplifting power of feelings or ideas, a protective influence.

Because the eagle, like most hunting birds, has an extraordinary far reaching and inclusive vision, it can link with the ability of your own mind to at times expand far beyond the immediate sense impressions and concerns, to include years of life experience, and what you have learned when looked at as a whole. It can therefore represent spiritual vision. This is because the height of the bird and its steady gaze give it unusual perception and wide awareness. To touch such enormous wealth of experience is to be penetrated by the holy. Something so beyond the limitations of our own small personality enters us and leaves its imprint. See: Birds.

Sometimes it is seen as a threatening influence, if it is seen as connected with carrion. But if so it is you fears you are dealing with. Because it is a bird of prey it might appear as a threatening influence. Also this wider awareness may at times feel as if you are ‘carried away’. Being lifted into the unknown in this way can cause unwarranted fear. See The Life Will ; Dreams are Like a Computer Game

In some dreams it represents love, and its death or destruction can mean the death of love – as occurs in divorce. Cayce says that teenagers at a critical stage in life sometimes dream of an eagle pecking or tearing at their heart or thymus area. He says this represents the emotional entanglements that youngsters are subject to and incapable of understanding.

The Egyptian god Horus is a hawk or falcon, and was called the ‘all seeing eye’. This was because it represented the higher function of the unconscious to see all things.

Also the Hawk of Achill, or Seabhag, was one of the first animals to come into being according to Celtic mythos. He has an immense memory and is said to live a very long time. He represents knowledge and the search for it as seen in the poem The Hawk of Achill. He is an ancient bird, over 5,000 years old easily at the time it was written. He is also, as many birds are in mythology, a messenger between the realms. This means he can travel from this realm to that of the otherworlds of the myths he exists in. See Myths and Legends

Example: I was gazing at the sky and the stars, looking up to the sky. The stars were shiny and yellow gold similar to the colour of fire. There were a couple of stars similar to shooting stars but they almost looked like tiny pieces of fire display, like fireworks. It looked beautiful. Soon after the dream shifted to a computer screen and I was checking my emails. I was scrolling down the in box and then clicked on a message thinking ‘why didn’t I check this before?’ the message appeared with a picture of a huge bird and it looked like a Eagle (but the colour was white with a bluish/black outline) with its wings fully spread and moving as if the Eagle was flying; and there was a message underneath in tiny English letters which I read something similar to ‘ your life is going to transform’- I can’t remember the exact words but it was something similar to this and then I woke up. Could this be a message for the future /a prediction/ a omen?

Such beautiful dreams are a real indication of your potential and should be taken seriously. Of course dreams arise from a very deep part of your nature and are like seeds, and so need time to grow and open to the surface; so be patient and hopeful.

Idioms: Watch like a hawk; eagle eyed; like a mother hawk; watch me like a hawk;

I dreamt of a huge eagle flying in the sky/clouds with open wings……didn’t notice anything else

In my dream, I was touring a house of a man that I’ve been in love with. His son was showing it to me. He then took me to the room with a large wooden (made of thin branches) statue of an eagle. The eagle was in a sitting position with wings folded. The son mentioned that his dad was very proud of this statue and it was one of his favorite things. I walked up close to it and touched it. The statue was fragile and broke when I put my hand on it. I began to cry because I was very upset that I broke it. The man himself saw me upset but he never said “it’s okay, don’t cry”, so I was even more upset because I felt like I could never make it okay again. As I am writing this down, I think I begin to understand some of the meaning of this dream, which lets me know that I still have some deep unresolved feelings. I’d appreciate any additional insight. Thank you.

Hi – It is important that you read https://dreamhawk.com/forums/index.php?topic=529.msg1472#msg1472

Vira – It helps to realise that when you think about a lover, a friend or a person you know, you are only taking in your thoughts, impressions and feelings about them. So many people do not realise that they have an inner person equally as powerful as the external person you know. You have taken in millions of bits of memory, lessons learnt, life experiences along with all the feelings or problems met by meeting or living with them, and they change you and make you the person you are. The memories and experience we gather unconsciously change us and are not lost. It is part of you and is symbolised in dreams as a person or event. Such an inner person can appear in dreams because you still carry the memories or impressions of them, and so they influenced what you hold within you.

So entering the house of the man you loved is exploring what you intuitively know from your association with him. His son is also an inner figure, not an outer reality. So he sounds like a more easily approached way of getting to know him. I say that because he was guiding you.

The rest of the dream is about an idea or self image the man had of himself – but it is very fragile and breaks when you even make contact with it. You react very emotionally when he responds without feeling. But it is you who almost takes the blame for the fragility of his self image.

It sounds as if you are not honouring what you have taken into you, and it is giving you indigestion of the soul. What I have found over years of investigation that everything we take in, experience as well as food, needs to be dealt with in a particular way. We are a living process like all living things. We have to transform what we take in into living processes. How we do that with our experience is slightly different – we have to digest it fully by experiencing it fully. If we do not do that it is like plastering stuff/experience on ourselves that is like thick coating which leads to all sorts of mental disorders. Look around you and see the massive crap many people are carrying. See https://dreamhawk.com/approaches-to-being/opening-to-life/

I’ve struggled with sleep paralysis for the last 17 years and I’ve never been able to turn it into a positive experience. I’m trying to research what my brain was trying to convey last night in my sleep and it led me here.

I was on the beach with a friend and my parents. My parents were a little further down the shore. A large amount of what appeared to be crows started to swarm over the ocean. There must have been thousands. They separated into two huge groups and shaped into the form of two eagles with outspread wings, their heads facing to the West. So the murder of crows turned into two groups of 500ish birds that transformed into eagles.
I’m sorry I’m having trouble explaining this in detail.
Shortly after this, a large wave was coming towards us down the shoreline, intersecting the natural flow of the real waves.
Nobody died or was injured. However, we lost all of our belongings. When I caught up to my parents they looked at me as if they had seen a ghost, and I was the ghost.

Corrie – Being on a dream beach signifies you have a link between the enormous opposites of our life, such as the deep inner mind and unconscious and our waking self. A beach is also a boundary, or threshold, between your individual self and effort, and your potential in the universal processes of life and death.

Your frequent experience of sleep paralysis emphasises this. For in sleep paralysis you switch over to the Life Will. In life and sleep we have two powerful actions working in us. The first is our waking experience based on having a body, its limitations, vulnerabilities and a particular gender. Our second is the power that gave us life and continues to express as spontaneous movement in dreams, in our breathing and heartbeat – our life. This I have given the description as the Life Will.

While we sleep our conscious self is largely or totally unconscious, and while we sleep and dream our voluntary muscles are paralysed – therefore another will or motivating force moves our body. So we have a Conscious Will, and what I will call a Life Will. The first one we have experience of as we can move our arm or speak in everyday activities; but the second will takes over when we sleep.

This Life will can move us to speak, to move our body, and in fact do things that we cannot do with our Conscious Will, all that while we sleep and dream. See http://dreamhawk.com/interesting-people/edgar-cayce-and-the-cosmic-mind-superminds/ this gives examples of what the Life Will is capable of.

The eagles are often a sign of this ability to function in the Lie Will and to stay awake in deep dreamless sleep. See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/lucidity/

Again, the wave is a sign that you are releasing the psychobiological energy that is behind your inner ability, yet you have never achieved it, yet you are on the very verge of it. Those who have chosen to work with the process have given the experience the name of LifeStream – see http://dreamhawk.com/approaches-to-being/opening-to-life/

You are a ghost, or will be if you choose to go with the flow of life, because you have to die, not physically, but by letting go – try http://dreamhawk.com/body-and-mind/the-arm-circling-meditation/

I dreamed of 2 of my cats injured as if they had fought something off their ears chewed, face had part of it w no fur,. I was petting it, and thinking how it was missing another cat that had died, when an eagle circled. It flew.right down next to me, so the cat and I shooed it off.

Then the cat tried to chase it off, and jumped at it, twice, as high as a tree. He wouldn’t stop chasing the eagle off. But the eagle caught it by the foot and flew away w it. I yelled at it as it flew away, and thought- what would I tell my son when he sees the cat gone? I was sad and upset.

The context was sitting on a car, outside my apartment I just moved from but consider home. It was nice and sunny and I had just come.back from somewhere. The apartments and surroundings looked just like they do.in real.life.

These are my actual cats, one tabby, one black though I have no living black cat it seemed to be one of mine (I need ferals). When I saw them hurt I thought maybe they fought a raccoon, and “I leave and this is what happens?”. The cats were friendly. All animals looked in my eye. The eagle was amazing.

I had a dream this morning, where I saw a giant eagle just opposite to my old parental house between dense bushes, the eagle was protecting her nest feeding her birds and one interesting thing she was also feeding them grapes the dark red one, the bird was magnificent and huge earlier i saw him with some shell kind of things and not able to se the face but later I knew it was not shell but her wings, no harm nothing i was just there seeing her trying to capture the pic with my camera and praising her beauty, i googled as soon as i woke up and it looked like haast’s eagle. Interesting thing although I like eagles but literally not into them and never actually discussed or study anything about them, so bit curious what this dream means, if you could help please.

I saw something like a tornado through a window. It was moving very lively, not like a tornado but more like a some creature. Then it was an eagle, but not a normal one. It was gigantic and its tail was long like a Phoenix’s one. It was not frightening. In the end it landed and wanted to start sleeping. All people ran to watch it and some of them tried to tease it, but it did not care or acted like sacrificing itself.
What this dream could mean?

Hi – It would help you to understand your dreams, if you would read – http://dreamhawk.com/news/summing-up/http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/features-found-on-site/http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/acting-on-your-dream/#BeingPersonorhttp://dreamhawk.com/dream-dictionary/getting-at-your-dreams-meaning/

    Tony

Nina – An amazing dream, but to begin to understand it, you must realise that dream arise from a deep part of you, in fact from the processes of life that create you. To start with think about the tremendous energy that each of us are immersed in, a ‘river’ of constant change. If you think about it you have been carried, pushed, impelled by this current as you were moved through babyhood, childhood, teenage and adulthood. And as we passed through these changes we died to our old self in order to change to the new. It is the current of Life. This current then carries us on through old age and through the gates of death. All the time we are faced by decisions, and each decision directs us on a different path, helping to create our future. And this is a force of growth and change; and is fought like hell by many as we are afraid of such changes, especially getting old and facing death.

So the tornado is another symbol of these powerful energies that can lift you up, can move your whole being to change. But the change was a powerful inner change – the world of our feelings and the processes of life that change you and your body.

But it transformed into gigantic bird, which translates into unusual perception and wide awareness. To touch such enormous wealth of experience is to be penetrated by the holy; something so beyond the limitations of our own small personality enters us and leaves its imprint.

When we confront something like that, we cannot help having a wide range of feelings about it, some which may be like antagonistic/teasing. Life, which constantly works to keep our body alive, despite many of us treating it badly by smoking, drinking alcohol and eating devitalised foods, yet it sacrifices its amazing life process constantly. Rudolph Steiner says that is the meaning crucifixion, the wonderful life of the spirit is ‘nailed’ to the physical body experiencing its pains and torment in order to grow and expand into the life of the spirit.

In my dream I was on the beach with friends and I was swimming in the sea with them and then me and the person in this group of friends I have feelings for were looking after everyone in the group. Telling them to get out of the rip tides and so on (the sea was rough). Next thing an eagle crash landed into the sea and me and the friend I have fallen for were looking after this hurt eagle until the nearest bird rescue sanctuary could help. The eagle then took a liking to me and only trusted me until we could get it picked up.
I’d love to get some insight into this.
