Frog

This reveals to you the deeply unconscious psychobiological life processes, which transformed you from a tadpole/sperm, into an air breathing frog/adult – therefore the process of life in general and its wisdom. The enormous information such symbols hold if you explore them gives them their power. They lead you to a meeting with what you find difficult or repulsive in life and yourself, which if you can accept transforms into personal potential and power – the frog into the prince story. It is often a form of love that transforms the dark sides of yourself, the toad or beast, into something which is life enhancing. The frog may also depict a sub-personality, an aspect of your character that is usually unconscious, but occasionally shows itself in behaviour.

The frog has also been associated with the power of resurrection and renewal.

Frogs spawn: Sperm, ovum and reproduction. See: sub-personality

Useful questions are:

Am I facing any feelings, difficult or otherwise, that connect with being born or life in the womb?

Am I aware of a transformation going on – if so what its it?

What are the key words in my description of the dream, and what do they tell me? See: keywords for help.

I find that frogs appear with some regularity in my dreams. Thank you for these hints about possible meanings.

Jerelica – Is your wife pregnant or likely to be, only the little frogs can suggest that she is.

Or do you want her to be pregnant?

Hi Tony! I recently bought your book and am finding it very helpful! But sometimes I find the many symbols in my dreams confusing. I was particularly moved by this one: I dreamed that I found a dead frog/toad (very bumpy like a toad) and wanted to keep it and so tried to press it in a book like a flower, figuring it would dry and its form would remain with me. But I also wondered about the body juices inside of it and if this would harm the pressing process. I kept checking on the frog, eventually ending up with it taped to my lower back in effort to press it. I am in a sexy dress at a party or some function. My hair is up. And I am being watched by people – im not sure why (details are blurry – made sense in the dream). I try to go to a bathroom to change my stockings (not my clothes) for privacy I have the frog/toad taped to my back. I dont want anyone to see it. Im trying to find a bathroom with privacy in this unidentified building where I am and finally see one way off away from where most of the activity is. It is just a toilet inside a large clothlike structure (an unfinished decorative structure for the building -kind of a see thru tan mesh/potato sack like material covering a wooden frame). And the bathroom inside the structure is very unstable – it is still being worked on by construction – there is a sign alerting me to that, but I try to go in and the ground is very shaky – so I don;t want to draw attention to myself by cracking the floor boards and I go behind this structure to a part where there is more cloth and I am sure no one will notice me – although I can see them exiting the building through the cloth and structure pieces. They are talking and laughing and I like being able to see them, but that they can’t see me. I start to change. I realize the frog is still there. And then there is a sexual element – someone is going to meet there to have sex, but there is the issue of a dead frog taped to my back. The person’s presence is there and I want them to leave and so they leave and I am back to just me and the frog and I suddenly worry that having this freshly dead frog against my skin might make me sick. I realize that the secretions during decay might have an effect on me and I detach the frog from my back and notice a red stain on the tape, indicating juices have been secreted and now I am worried for my health.
Any help with clarity on this would be greatly appreciated!

Dear Tony, I’d to tell you how much I appreciate everything you have shared so freely on your website and also share my recent dream experiences having referred to your dream work meanings. I woke this morning only remembering the very last part of my dream, coming across a small frog in a bag, I think I heard and sensed it was there and was relieved and surprised it was (still) alive. It leaped away. I have very recently started to become more conscious of wanting to work with my dreams and immediately thought of the frog and the prince story, it’s funny because I’ve recently realised I want to be a story teller & the creativity in me which I know has been stifled for so long is finally starting to surface. I’m having all kinds of revelations about small things i would like to make and i’ve even made & continue to add to a Vision Board at last. Last night was quite transformative for me – I had done some intensive work releasing anger and resentment which I realised I was holding. I was then able to enter a state of free blessing and felt deeply conncected to the universe and just so much more aware of the pain of the person I had forgiven, like my heart was breaking for them. I realised that no one could stifle or trample on my dreams, that like my own power they could not be taken from me, that they have a life force of their own and sooner or later, when it is finally recognised, (validated??) and allowed, the creative force will rise of its own volition, it becomes an instinctive urge to push, an imperative. It was a kind of rebirth, a real awakening. I then spent some time in shakti type dance and some spontaneous movement. So in researching today on your site I feel I have been given really valuable insights. I guess there is also the aspect of bringing more things that have been unconscious to the surface – of myself I mean. Being able to recognise and then acknowledge, sit with, feel, my feelings, then let them go instead of not knowing what to do with them or directing them at someone else. Speaking my truth in the present and not allowing things to get buried so that there are not undercurrents or hidden agendas or ‘misunderstandings’ -everything stays present, that kind of thing. I also had a very powerful dream mixed in with waking a couple of weeks ago. Suddenly my hair took on a life of its own and swirled up around me. I began to awake as it was happening. I recall feeling quite frightened because it was utterly real and so powerful, like something was in me but not quite me. And it was so real, so present, so physical and in that final moment I was awake, not asleep. If you do have any insights on this you have time to share I would very much appreciate it but mostly I would just like to say thank you so much for sharing your life’s work and experiences so freely. Bright blessings xx

Dear Pam – Thank you for your very interesting post. As usual with some communications I would love to talk with you.

But I think if you read the following features you might get the answers you seek. If not please ask questions as it if from people’s enquiries I get inspiration.

Here is something I found and treasured in a book I read many years ago – it is from Myself and I by Constance Newman, and is about her amazing transformation in therapy.

“Gradually, it became clear what had been causing the pain (which had appropriately returned when Dr. E mentioned it).
In every human being, I seemed to be told, there is a fire that burns, a creative fire. When that fire is permitted to burn freely, the human being is healthy and creative, whether he be farmer, artist, mother, workman. But when the fire is blocked, as it is by this pain, then the person is crippled, just as I had been crippled for most of my life. As a child, I had felt worthless because I did not have my brother’s masculinity and intelligence, nor my sister’s grace and beauty. And because I had felt worthless I had withdrawn into non-identity and non-feeling.”

Also please see and read from there on – http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/what-we-need-to-remember-about-us/#Paralyzed. Also see http://dreamhawk.com/approaches-to-being/lifes-little-secrets/ and http://dreamhawk.com/body-and-mind/peoples-experiences-of-lifestream/

My thoughts are with you. You are opening the door to a wonder.

Tony – I feel deeply touched that you responded to me. I have just spent a little time exploring the posts you suggested; I was drawn to the Lifestream pages but hadn’t touched on them yet. I found so many things in there that resonate with me both from my own experiences of my body, yes in all honesty my mind too, starting to give up on me in a desperate attempt to finally get my full attention, with a balance disorder in the end…. (so funny to find you’d also highlighted the link to the article that has the glorious seesaw picture – I had stumbled on and partially read this the other day & decided I needed to give it more time to study – ), to my first ‘proper’ experiences last year with spontaneous movement with a free thinking acupuncturist and Tai Chi teacher…. the melting of physical bodies, ie hand into hand – whose hand? or, whose foot? ….. to singing a chord on one occasion. Releasing cries and moans I’d never heard come from a human before. Feeling with spontaneous movement that it’s like the key to your blueprint, an overlay of your perfect shape, health, state. Your body, your energy – as everything, as Awareness, knows exactly how it needs to be, I came across this also in one of the articles you recommended “All of that came about by allowing my being to express spontaneously without my conscious intervention” – yes yes.

I recall reading one of your dream pages mentioning being impressed by the hare you encountered, previously a rabbit I think – hope that’s correct – who told you to go back and seek the Kingdom within. That’s the word I was searching for when describing my own ‘hair’ incident – as something of me yet not of me, being fearful because of the enormous latent power i felt which ultimately I knew could only ONLY be mine – yet as an external force I felt distinctly impressed. And yes, overwhelmed. Frightened because it was new, powerful. But wow it was me, mine & now I feel even more confident that next time i can take ownership of it, integrate it.

I really have come to feel that I have been embarking on a totally different journey. It just seems to speed up and become more intense and at last I really want to fully join in. I ‘get it’ . It feels like my – our – birthright – but such a privelege. Every day, and every night, full of discovery. What a life.
PS I found a copy of Myself & I on ebay :) that last line you quoted. Yep summed me up – went there. I don’t know how else so much light would have started getting in to look at all the darkness. I guess life would have found a way. It sends us such blessings.
Thank you again for taking the time and for all your thoughts it’s clear you already know how much it means.

The color of the two figurine frogs are green and the other one is mix with yellow. When someone asked me in my dream where i bought those stuff? I answered that I bought it in Singapore when I was there before. I’m wondering why I dream those stuff. What does it mean? Please give me the meaning..

Melody – This is not an easy one for me to understand. But what I arrive at is that the dream is saying that at the moment your hormones and female activity are very strong. It could also point to you wanting to or becoming pregnant – or at least feeling very fertile. It is a symbol of transformation – transforming activity from the cellular level into something beautiful.

I just had a dream I had gone out I think it was with my family but I am unsure. But we go back to a house we have recently bought and moved into. It’s quite a big house, bigger than we have ever owned. Anyways it’s very early in the morning when we get back and the house is empty less me and my brother and someone else who is familiar but I can not pin down who the third person was. So me and my brother go to a wing of the house where the living room is and he offers me a spiff, I agree very drunk I may add. After i fall asleep on the sofa and wake up to my brother talking to me, the only clear thing I remember him saying was you starting to wet yourself, as I look to my crotch there is a wet patch starting to show as it start to leak to my side I get up and go to my room. My room is on ground level with lots of double glazed windows, I am very nervous about opening them so I check they are all locked at that moment an authority figure comes in tell me off about the weed I had been smoking I think it may have been my mother, and I proceed to tell them that I don’t smoke anymore and that the butts are old ones. They leave and I light up an old butt. At this point I hear two rowdy boy wreaking havoc out side and realise that one of my big windows is open so I close it and open one of the little top windows that you could barely fit your hands into I check to see if all the other top windows are the same but they open two wide and that make me feel vulnerable. By this point these two boy are outside my window making a lot of noise outside my window. So bang on the window in am attempt to shoo them off, but this just riles them and they turn to start smashing things off my window. This makes me very angry so I put some warmer clothes on and leave from a back door in my room and walk round the property to scare them off. About half way round what seems to be a very large house (my house seems to be the only private property/land on a council estate) I see the two boys running towards me shouting abuse at me one with a jar in his hand that looks it has some brown liquid in it. As I approach the boy with the jar throws it over me. The liquid seems to be warm and what feels like a dead frog seem to now be stuck in my jumper as I try to take my jumper off what feels like the dead frog is all over my face and I am now panicking on the floor/grass at which point I wake up.. For some reason I woke up very shaken up. Please help me interpret this dream.

Nash – This dream clearly shows the damage smoking is doing to you. I a not against using drugs wisely as a means of exploration, but some people use drugs in a way that releases things and then they do not integrate them.

Your dream shows you have an excellent mind with lots of space and possibilities – but you are not in control of your basic functions – the wetting yourself.

Your caring side warns you about smoking, but in fact it doesn’t get through to you. Then your higher self tells you off for the same thing, but again you take no notice.

Lastly your youthful self is running wild and you try to fight off or deal with the urges you feel but it doesn’t work. In fact you are confronted by the possibility of having a part of you dying – the frog – which represent the part of you that can transform you and lead you to a new life.
