Native American

Natural wisdom; self acceptance and wisdom based on this awareness of ones links with the world and the intuition or wisdom of the irrational or unconscious. It can represent realisation of tribal wisdom and the link with intuitive initiations into stages of growth and entrance into the house of the ancestors. For some people it links with feelings of being dispossessed.

If you live in America, you may have all the above associations of being touch in with nature, but some people dream of being attacked and threatened. And this is probably an expression of meeting the alien in you, or a fear of strangers. The Indian can also be a guide and a wise person. See See alien – Reaction to the unconscious

Example: Dreamt that a young modern Red Indian was talking to me while walking in London. He said he would show me one of the secret nerve blocks used by the shamans. He pressed quickly the right side of my throat and tapped my forehead. Then he walked backwards away from me a few paces, and he appeared to shrink in size and diminish in age. I immediately thought this must have been the physiological method used in their magic. I seemed to remember having been shown it before by another Red Indian. He didn’t have to walk away, but looked young and small anyway. To end the effect, the Indian tapped the base of my neck in the thyroid area, and tapped my buttocks.

Useful questions are:

What are my feelings about the Indian or being an Indian?

What am I gaining or getting from the Indian?

My life has been changing in leaps and bounds. I moved away from family, bought a mobile home got a new job. My father past last year ,my x husband and he was still my friend-partner, died this month of cancer and I had a friend betray me and lied to me and steal from me. I have spent every last cent to get back thing that where once mine, my horse, my truck, my stuff. I know its stuff but its all i have left besides my brother and my nephews. When I was around they didnt treat me too well, but now that Im on my own they seem to miss me.
My dream is I was going down to the river to fish beautiful stream rocks very clear water evergreens and blue sky. before I could get into the water a large 1′ -2′ shell turtle blocked my path. I wanted to go into the water to fish. So I stopped by Turtle and looked around and up stream. There was was a large Bear(blk) in the water up steam looking at me and on the shore next to the Bear was a grey wolf. I went oh no, Im not going into the water. I was afraid of the Bear ,but not the Wolf. They both watched me and I turned around and left.

Dear Sharon Rae – Your dream starts with expressing the beauty of the inner world you have created; “beautiful stream rocks very clear water evergreens and blue sky.”
    See http://dreamhawk.com/inner-life/inner-world/#MakesInner
    and also http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/the-adventure-of-the-dream-world/
The stream is a symbol of the feelings that flow through us or we are immersed in it reflects the process of life in our body, connecting with emotions, sexuality and changes of mood. We know this river as the flow and events of our life or destiny. We are constantly a river of energy which is expressed in everything we do. Because it is Life that flows through us it is creative in its action. But we are part of the creation, for we create with what we do.
Wanting to go fishing is a symbol of the desire to create a receptive state of consciousness which allows insights to become known.
What becomes clear then is that although you dare to feel vulnerable too – the turtle – you still perceive it as something that is in the way.
I see it as a sign of your feeling more whole.
    See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-dictionary/whole-2/
When you look into the past – upstream – you become aware that your fear is related to “the bear”. The bear can represent a meeting with emotions such as fear or anger but there might also be associations with independence or strength.
I do feel you did show your strength and independence when you decided to “spent every last cent to get back things that were once mine, my horse, my truck, my stuff.”
In your dream you did not dare to approach the bear yet.
So whenever you feel up to it please use “Being the bear” and “Talking as the bear” to explore this symbol in your dream and to express those feelings you did not dare to express before.
    See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/acting-on-your-dream/#BeingPerson
    and
    http://dreamhawk.com/dream-dictionary/practical-techniques-for-understanding-your-dreams/#TalkingAs
The wolf also appears in our dreams as a master of life in the wild. It is a group animal and has tremendous loyalty and protectiveness to its family and group. As such it can depict your intuitive understanding of life on earth, the seasons of life and death, and the deep wisdom of group relations.
In order to get a deeper feeling understanding of the wolf in your dream you can use the same approach as with the bear.

    Good Luck!

I had a dream about Native Americans ..I was on their Reservation and it looked like a little city with stores,a car dealership that sold really nice old cars, and they had restaurants..they allowed other types of nationailtys into their Reservation because that was their means of supporting their tribe. But as it started to get dark the little city closed and if everyone didn’t go they would be stuck on the Reservation until the next day…they put electrical wire all around the primiter of the a Reservation so no one goes out or comes in.I had come in there with my friends and my friends left and I was stuck in there…so I went into the car dealers and try to get a car so I could leave ,but the store and the dealership was connect so I couldn’t just drive out.but as I was putting the car back I realized that I could get out under the fence..so I did and off I went back home.Oh yes and their were other Indians on that Reservation they didn’t belong there and they got closed in with the ones that did live their…and that was the reason why I needed to get off because between the tribes it was going to be a war..this particular tribe was their enemy.

I had a dream of my niece that passed away a year ago. She was back with us alive, but not totally alive. Like she was still pale looking & cold to the touch. Every time I would ask her why she was still cold, she would say what do you mean? I would tell her that she had died before & she would just reply with the same answer of what do you mean. In our Lakota heritage when some that had passed visited you in your dreams it meant that the person that passed knew you were thinking about them & they are letting you know that they are ok. I don’t know what the other part about her coming back to life(but not totally alive) means can you help me understand what all of this really means? I would greatly appreciate your help. Please reply & thank you.

    -Anna - Tony's Assistant 2015-05-23 8:41:36

Dear LaRita – Your dream could mean that you did connect and communicate with your niece and that you took your beliefs about “dead bodies slowly coming back to life” with you in your dream; “She was back with us alive, but not totally alive. Like she was still pale looking & cold to the touch”.
“Every time I would ask her why she was still cold, she would say what do you mean?” could be an expression of your niece asking you to reflect on what you are perceiving, and her indirect way of explaining to you that she does not perceive death that way because she only has left the world of the body.
Another possible explanation is that whatever you associate with your niece came back to life in your inner world and it still needs further “warming up”.
    See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/association-of-ideas-with-dreams/#Working
Either way it will serve a purpose to explore your perceptions and symbols in your dream and allow into awareness what was unconscious before.
In general when the flesh is cold it is about the lack of sexual or emotional warmth and the living flow of feelings and ease with oneself or others.
Also when we pull back from something emotionally, or are frightened of our own inner feelings, we often experience a temperature drop, and possible sudden tiredness. It often happens when we are opening to the action life within us, but are in conflict about allowing it.
In your dream that could mean that you did allow Life again inside you and that you are still in conflict with it in some way.

-Shawna 2015-03-18 16:38:06

I had a very strange dream last night and it has me total confused. I hope someone could please explain it to me.
In the dream it started out that I was in a library or somewhere looking for a medical book. Next thing I know this hand goes over my mouth and everything goes blank, next thing I’m in this huge wigwam surrounded by many indians; male & female. I’m walking around and I spot this male Indian covered in white paint and he then turns into a white stallion. I continue to walk around and all the male Indians are dressed in different outfits. These 2 female indians esort me to this one particular male Indian and he asks me if I’ve eaten. I told him no and he gave me something to eat. I then notice some Indian drawings on 1 wall of the wigwam and ask what it meant. They tell me that it represents the great Indian who hunts deer. Then they show me with their hands the symbol that represents a doe and we all start walking in a large circle doing the symbol while this big strong male indian was standing on top of a table.
after the dream I woke up feeling as if I were still in the dream. Can someone please explain this to me.

    -Shawna 2015-03-18 16:45:28

I forgot to mention that when I awoke and found myself in this wigwam I was fully dresses in a Indian dress, also the symbol they showed me for the doe was holding the right handin front of the left holding up the index finger and the index and middle finger on the left hand and bouncing the 2 hands together while we walked.
I hope someone can explain this to me.

    -Tony Crisp 2015-03-19 9:59:23

Shawna – The American Indian dress either means you have some of their blood in your family. (My eldest son has a son born in the UK and his wife is from Ireland. My son had his boy’s DNA tested, and found he had 5% American Indian in his make up. It seems possible a past relative went to the US and had a child with a Native American.) Or you have taken in teachings or feelings about their culture.

The right hand in front of the left hand with the fingers placed the way they are is a sign of a woman and man having sex. It could mean what I said above – you have native blood in you – or this is a guess, you will mate with a Native American – unless it is you who are the person with a high percentage of native blood.

The great Indian who hunts deer – a doe – is another indication of a male finding a female.

Thank you Tony. I do have native American blood in me. What does the Indian painted in all white them turns into a white stallion mean? Also something happened to me that has never happened before, when I laid down for a couple of hours. I feel asleep and this same dream picked up where it left off. The Indian gentleman that was on top of the table in the wigwam as we walked around made eye contact with me, held out his left hand and pulled me into the table with him and started dancing around me. Can you explain this for me?

Okay, the other night I had the weirdest dream that I was in a full native American outfit running beside another young man who for some reason I just knew it was my great great great grandpa who I know was full blooded Indian and obviously, I had never met him, or seen a picture or painting of him. Anyways, we were running, and he smiled and said something I didn’t understand then disappeared, and I blinked and then I was riding a beautiful pinto horse and we had a big wolf running beside us, and then I looked up and there was an eagle and crow fighting each other while in flight keeping up with me. We were running towards a huge pile of rocks, and when we got there it was clear in the center of the rocks with just a small campfire and my great great great grandpa who was running with me before sitting there. He handed me a pipe which was engraved to look like a bear and that’s when I woke up. ANY ideas about what this dream means?Lol

-Sierraa 2015-02-11 23:19:28

I had a dream twice, the same one of an indian man in room that was on fire. I walked into the room to see him sitting in a circle of fire scalping a babies head. This was the strangest dream ive had. It also occurred at a younger age

dream of another person coming to take someone else to their time die but dress in white garment like a funeral

-Dannie 2015-01-16 5:21:41

Ok, I need help. I have had this really powerful dream a few years back happen to me. And I feel it was more then just a dream. It went like this.
Yrs ago when I was a young girl, 13 or so. I was sexually assaulted by my school principal. It affected me and still does terribly. But I had had a dream… Where I was in my principals van. I can feel my fear.. As we are driving along.. We drive into to clearing with a brush line around it. When I see this native woman.. Late 20’s in buckskin and tinkle dress. She was holding out a feather upright in front of her. And she was dancing. Just a gentle little two beat hop. And as I sit there looking out at her, our eyes lock. We stare into each others eyes.. Her eyes are powerful, they say into me..spoke to me.. Then she deliberately nods at me. And I remember feeling her warmth. I felt “she was there”. And we drove past her… And I went somewhere. With him. I awoke just then. Feeling everything all at once. I felt I received a message. But I don’t understand. I want to know what it means. I know what I felt. But the nod? The eagle feather? The dress? Why? Why did she literally look right into my soul.. And I feel her there. I still do. I wish she would come again. That dream has affected me to this day. It still chokes me up and I get all tingly. It’s strong. And I have this yearning to know. And ask her. This wasn’t anything like I had ever expected.

I don’t know if anyone can help me. Or if anyone has a clue what this all symbolizes. But I hope someone can.

Thankyou, muchly
Appreciated..

When I was a young girl I still remember til this day this dream. I was about 5 years old maybe younger, but I didn’t even know what this dream was or the significance of the symbol in the dream but I dreamt of the Kokopelli man. He played his flute and I still remember the sounds to a tee. It was very short about 2 measures long but I remember it note for note. I can’t find out what it means on any other dean sites. Would anyone know what it could pertain to me?

    -Tony Crisp 2015-01-01 10:05:28

Jassica – The Kokopelli man is one of those symbolic figures that have little or no power in the waking world, but are very powerful in your inner world.

He represent the ability to have children easily and also to be in touch with your intuition and have many gifts. So feel blessed.

    Tony

In short, on a trip stopped in an old hotel where an indian family was staying in the last room and I encountered a Indian family whose 8 yr. old son was quietly possessed (we stared straight into each others eyes) or had psychic abilities (as I do) and the boy showed me three odd men outside the side window of their room (one man as a flying bird, a man walking backwards and a MMA fighter), the grandfather entered and asked me, “what did I think?” I answered after encountering the boys deep gaze into my eyes that he was gathering strength, they weren’t safe and that they needed to contact an authentic Shaman/witch to rid him of this demon, and then told them I wasn’t safe, but that I could handle it and then woke up. Im thinking of taking a trip to Oklahoma to the Indian reservation someday…Blessings & thank you xx

-Shannon George 2014-12-09 23:44:22

From what I remember: It started out (nighttime) where I was with certain family members (that I am estranged from). I had to go do something that they wanted me to do, and as I walked down the path I realized I was walking on top of graves…like how they are in New Orleans…stacked and with handles…but flat…like it was the path…and towards the end there was a man in front of me who made me uneasy. He climbed down the side of the path…which was rocky…and walked towards two men, who all walked off; there was a body of water that direction. I had to climb down next, and there was a long-haired figure in the shadows to my right. I started becoming uneasy so went to climb back up, becoming aware that I was in a dress and so more vulnerable. The shadow-man just stood there staring at me. Half-way up I yelled “rape,” because that was what I feared. I was now out of body, and saw my family run towards me. Suddenly, I was at the top covered in blankets. I told them that nothing happened…and then the dream ended on its own.

    -Shannon George 2014-12-09 23:45:43

I FORGOT TO MENTION: When I woke up, I felt very strongly that the shadow figure was Native American.
