1  Dreams / Dream Interpretation / Re: Trapped! on: May 03, 2013, 02:51:05 AM
i am a great lover of mythological stories ,as there is always one that holds answers to what we have to face,
& dreams are our own personal myths.
with ref to the scary unseen forces you mention,i am reminded of George & the dragon,
he did not kill the dragon,he led it around on a silken rope,
confrontation with unconscious content or forces greater than ourselves  can be scary,(meeting the dragon) but when we accept it,it becomes an ally,(leading the dragon by a silken rope).
one thing to remember,it is one of many dragons! i wish you good luck.
Mikey.

hi,
so the answer to this dream,is most likely, your  fears are unfounded,
as both your own re-entry into the dream & your second one seem to confirm,if you woke up feeling better, then the dream has done its job,
a great mentor of mine,Joseph campbell called it,being helped by hidden hands,
forces are at work, that for the most part we are unconscious of,
hope everything pans out for you.

i think by waking up before the lorry hits, this in itself is a symbolic reference, may refer to your own thoughts of refusing to face something head on,or that the thought of a particular solution seems distasteful,
what would have happened if you didn't wake up from the dream ?
i am reminded of the juggernaut from Hindu mythology also another name for a lorry ,this god was a great obstacle remover,i think of a storm or tornado passing through ,can be destructive ,but clears the way for new growth,i think you already know this as your second comments refer ,
in myth the would be hero enters the cave to confront the dragon, this may be that moment for you,be brave sir knight,it is always darkest before the dawn.
hope my thoughts are of help,

4  Dreams / Dream Interpretation / Re: White Wolf Attacking and Screaming *Please Help* on: April 08, 2013, 03:40:48 AM
hi,
if the question was,can i rely on cole to protect me,then the dream ,your inner wisdom is saying no,
but having said that, something deeper is at work here i feel,
a single wolf brings to mind ,Independence, being able to cope IE survive without help,
it may be the wolf being white has a spiritual connection,
the native Americans believed that a white animal wasn't just the animal, but a Representative of that entire species so had great power, more so than the plain animal,
this is why i feel that some deeper power is at work.
it is written that when animals turn against us in dreams,it is usually an aspect of our own inner workings, that is seeking recognition, because it has been ignored,
so i would look at it from this point of view, that something in you knows best, listen to it,
of course your dream could just be about trust, have you tried to befriend someone recently, with the traits of this wolf, did they not turn out to be as you thought,a wolf in sheep's clothing,?
just a few thoughts to get you thinking, hope they are of help.

5  Dreams / Dream Interpretation / Re: My Cousin's Hand Amputated on: March 23, 2013, 06:45:52 AM
hi,
we can do so many things with our hands,
the positive,
we  greet by shaking hands,we gesture, create, using them as tools, comfort, caress etc
negative,
we can hurt, damage, violate & of course steal things,
the fact that amputation has show up ,especially of the hand, suggests to me ,loss of one of the above positive abilities,
cutting off a hand was also a punishment in medieval times for theft, has anything been stolen ? ,
just my own thoughts.

6  Dreams / Dream Interpretation / tony & i on top of a mountain. on: March 18, 2013, 07:08:55 AM
hi tony,
i felt compelled to enter this dream as it contained you,& i believe it is related to your last comments on my ,dreams don't parrot what you already know post.
i feel that your comments & my meditation on them led to this dream,

i am on top of a mountain with tony crisp,i am in a sleeping bag as is tony,in the centre is a small fire,
tony says that he wants to show me a photo of something, that may help.
as he goes to get it from his rucksack,i am awe struck at the rising sun ,i fling my sleeping bag open to get out,but realise it is still a bit cold .so i snuggle bag in my bag,i am waiting for the earth to warm up.

a couple of nights before ,i watched a program on tv about the miracle of metamorphosis in nature,
the sleeping bags in the dream seemed to symbolise the chrysalis stage,

in response to your thoughts on my last post,i also came to feel that, what you may be saying is  ,not that nothing in this world matters, especially death ,but that it is all Maya, illusion,i believe the native Americans held a similar belief in that ,they saw the dream world as the real world, this world just being a reflection of it.
you have obviously had some experience or experiences throughout your life that have opened you up to this way of thinking,& yes you are right,it is difficult to explain to most ,
but i thank you for trying.

8  Dreams / Dream Interpretation / dreams do not parrot what you already know,! on: February 26, 2013, 04:09:22 AM
hi tony,
i read the above phrase and have  small query,
if it is true that dreams do not parrot what we already know ,as what would be the point,i was wondering if you could help me understand this dream i had last night,
my own personal beliefs relating to this dream,
i am against the killing of anything for sport, around where i live are a lot of pheasant shoots,i see these guffawing ego maniacs on a daily basis this time of year,& my heart sinks at the thought of the pain & suffering about to be met upon the beautiful birds.that's my own opinion,i am not enlightened enough to be non judgemental about it.

the dream,
i am  watching beaters making noise etc to make birds fly up so they can be shot ,some birds are actually physically thrown over the bushes into the field where the guns are,i am appalled at this and realise i am not one of them,i am differant,i understand these people have lost connection with something, tears are rolling down my cheeks.
i awoke feeling this incredible compassion with this suffering of the birds,
but the dream highlights the feelings i am already aware of,
as stated i am not of this kind of group ,never have been,
if it is highlighting the fact ,that i have lost connection with something or that i need to find a connection, and has nothing to do with how i feel about shooting birds etc  i can understand that ,especially if as you have said yourself, dreams are  feelings and fears disguised,
would love to here your thoughts.

9  Dreams / Dream Interpretation / Re: dream of a town from my past on: February 14, 2013, 06:23:39 AM
hi,
i would see it as a metaphor ,,
it may be related to your present thoughts,in that, are you happy ?,
sometimes we all need to escape back to a time we felt happier,a return to the womb of sorts,
i see these sort of escapes back to the past,as not a retreat from present circumstances, but more a chance to come to terms with true feelings, this sort of comparison with a past experience can release true feelings with the present.
are you longing for something or even someone ,what is your present situation, are you denying yourself anything, these are questions that may bring out the reason for the nostalgia,
these are only my thoughts hope they are of some help,

10  Dreams / Dream Interpretation / living totem again on: February 08, 2013, 10:26:52 AM
hi tony,
i would be grateful for your thoughts on this dream as i feel my last post didn't lead to much,
the new totem dream.
a living totem again, comes out of the earth, same as first dream, living earth mother with first a wolf, then a wild boar, then a squirrel, all on top of each other,
i am surrounded by religious people, scientists,Christ,Buddha, they are are all debating ,some arguing about what this all means,
i have to shout to get myself heard,i wave a piece of paper in my hand at them, finally i get chance to speak,
i tell them that in my hands i hold the proof, but it is only for me,it is my experience that counts,& not what they think ,
i turn to see Buddha sat in the lotus position, smiling at me,i hand him the piece of paper,he reads it,smiles & bursts into laughter, then vanishes.
the living totem animals are now on my level, the wolf is in front, the squirrel up in a tree, the boar beside me,
the earth mother tells me that everything is in its place, except for a dark dangerous bear like creature that is stalking me,she tells me i must beware of this creature,
as i walk through the forest i feel protected by the animals around me,but am on edge as i know i am being watch by the dark creature,
would be grateful for any thoughts,as i feel that i have not got the important message of the dream, hence its return, albeit with a different insert,

11  Dreams / Dream Interpretation / Re: landing dream on: January 28, 2013, 01:47:52 PM
forgot to mention the last part of the dream, the bit i am struggling with,
it seems we are going to land in germany,i realise in the dream that it is only a short hop across the channel back to England where i live,
i have no associations with germany, never been, not a place i am interested in visiting,
the only things i can think of in regard to germany are the collective ones,ie they are famous for their efficiency & engineering,& of course the ww2 themes of the great escapes from pow camps, dont know if this is relevent or not.

12  Dreams / Dream Interpretation / landing dream on: January 27, 2013, 06:57:26 AM
tony,
i had this dream the other night and am a bit stumped while i can understand some of the symbology, some i cannot seem to relate to.
the dream.
i am travelling in an aeroplane, feels a bit like a ww2 flying fortress with the overtones of a passanger aircraft,
i am going round with a female stewardess checking the structure, noticing and repairing any faults i find, namely shrapnel tears in the outer skin ,
now in the cockpit, the female tells the pilot ,this is mikey he has been with us from the very beginning,i felt some pride in this as i had been loyal to the journey,
the pilot who had a golden radiance about him just looked and smiled as he dealt with some minor turbulence caused by a mountain we had just passed over,
we are on our approach now to the landing strip,i do not have a seat belt, the pilot tells me to brace myself when we land as there will be a very quick deceleration,as is usually the case in a landing aircraft.
as we are about to touch down ,i am thinking what an incredible journey this has been,a great adventure,i feel contented,
about to land.

13  Dreams / Dream Interpretation / Re: My faith is being challenged on: January 18, 2013, 07:39:36 AM
hi,
caves have always been seen symboloically and used as places of initiation into the mysteries,
journeying into the cave you are entering that place within yourself ,
in mythological stories, something usually guards the entrance, sometimes it can be someone or something telling you not to go on as its pointless,or telling you to stay you will be safe here, these are all barriers to finishing the quest,
you may have beliefs ,are they yours ,based on your own experience or are they just learned from others,
there comes a time when the foundation of our beliefs comes under threat, but i feel this is to shake us out of a rut.
therefore i would see your dream as a reflection of this aspect,
i think it was called the dark night of the soul,
go where your heart and soul want to go,and dont be afraid, doors will open where you never expected to find any,
these are the words of joseph campbell a man who new the trail well.
hope this is of help.

hi,
yes i have looked up & understand the animal symbolism ,from a shamanic perspective as this seems to be the only set of symbols that make sense,
i see them all as a metaphor for the self as there are 4 in all,the stalking beast symbol i take to be some shadow content of mine, something that needs to be given attention,
a friend of mine said to me,you know you only see a shadow when the sun shines, this was a very profound statement as i understood it mean that to be fully awake we have to become aware of the darkside,by this i mean,i have never thought what we call the spiritual to be all dancing lights, ommms & beaming smiles,i have become aware of the dangers ,we live in a world of opposites at least that is our experience so every light has its shadow quality,i am not enlightened enough to see beyond this yet nor do i expect to be,my experience can only be discribed as shamanic in quality, this has been hard for me to accept ,i have put up a lot of resistance, but now my dreams have changed ,being more archetypal in content,i was informed by an expert that you do not choose to be a shaman, something comes for you,you can walk hand in hand with it ,or be dragged,i think because i have given in,and am now willing to go along with it, the inner landscape is changing i feel, the veils are lifting, hence the dream images becoming more archetypal,
i can honestly say it is nothing like i expected,
best wishes for  your journey.

15  Dreams / Dream Interpretation / living totem on: December 23, 2012, 02:58:02 PM
i had this dream last night ,i can hardly begin to find the words to describe it ,nothing will do it justice but here goes,
the dream,
walking through a forest i hear & feel the ground start to rumble before me,
bursting up out of the earth is a living totem pole,
on the bottom is the earth mother,on her head is a wolf, then a wild boar, followed by a creature that lives in the trees, not sure if it is a polecat or squirrel, they all jump down & surround me,
the earth mother tells me that these are my allies, against a dark very powerful being that is stalking me,she tells me it has been brought into being because of the quest i am on,
i felt i was in the presence of divinity & that something profound was imminent, absolutely stunning dream.
really would like some thoughts.
