Dream Interpretation / Re: Another dream I was curious about
« on: March 21, 2012, 11:53:21 AM »
The witch lady is a way your dreams portray the scary side of your mother or grandmother. So it seems you have some unwinding to do to get ride of the scary feelings.

Supernatural feelings are really something that has been created by you. If you take away the images and see what is underneath it you will find the feeling that clothed it - fear. Whenever we feel fear we tend to think or believe it is caused by something or someone else. In our dreams we are alone with ourself, and the things we create are all our own. Chieko – These are such long and convoluted dreams I am finding it hard to pin them down.

But something I wonder about is that I have the feeling that here is so much going on in you thoughts and feelings that you find it difficult to know what direction to take. Also I wonder about the scene with the grandmother – is that the sort of attitude you met from your grandmother? And as for meeting different guys, I think that is a natural way of exploring what sort of man you want, and dreams are a safe way to explore.

I would suggest you read the following in case they give you ideas about interpreting your dreams. http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/acting-on-your-dream/ - http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/what-we-need-to-remember-about-dreaming/ - http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/dream-yoga/

Briuk – It means for one thing that dreams are not, as some believe, a simple replay of things we see outside. It is a way of saying that your mind, your awareness is much bigger and wider than one usually thinks. As one man said, “The mind is not in the brain, but the brain is in the mind”. In other words, like a radio, the signal is not in the radio, but the radio is immersed in the signal.

The business about the tours was saying you are on a tour of the mind – the junk shop – well it could mean that in the midst of junky thoughts there is something important.

Just a thought,

Dream Interpretation / Re: Bad dream a little freaked out!!!!!!!!!!
« on: March 19, 2012, 11:37:55 AM »
Rob – I feel that the switch between the news about your sister’s death and your own warning was a way to get your own fears of death going. But of course it was just a joke and so there is no indication of your death.

About your sisters death it is again probably a way of facing up to the fact that we are all faced with death. Death is a fact that we all face, and it is no good running away from it in our dreams. That only makes it more scary. Because you CANNOT run away from death you should meet it face to face. If you do that it will transform into the beautiful part of life it is, instead of the horror we have been taught to see it as.

It is wise to pray for your sister as an insurance policy. Praying need not be seen as a religious exercise if you do not have religious beliefs. It can be seen as a reaching beyond the boundaries we usually hide within, and reaching out for the MORE.

Aristocrates - Having been in the air force I can see it as a great training and a wonderful medical opportunity. You get the very best medical treatment. One of my sons also trained as what you call a ‘cryptologist’ in the Royal Air Force – learning Russian. My impression was that he had a lot of close friends – and the opportunity to meet a lot of women.

It is certainly difficult to let go of connections we have made over a long term. The connections are more than emotions and there is a form of counter flow between you that can be difficult to deal with. If you can open yourself up to feel any hurt that was caused and is still active it can help, but only if you can really let it flow out.

There are so many factors in a close relationship, some of which have been called the ‘glamour’ of sexually driven partnerships – glamour meaning the illusionary force of it, which makes of a partner an amazing and desirable creature. I have the benefit of old age and have survived well – I think – a number of relationships with wonderful women. I feel it is worthwhile to be independent and know several partners. It is also worthwhile only getting involved with someone who is likewise independent and has several relationships that she is not bitter about. See http://dreamhawk.com/approaches-to-being/growing-up-to-love/ as it might have some interesting things in it.

Apart from that you are creating a future for yourself – aren’t we all though.

Horizen – I think your dream is a way toward independence, but independence can be difficult to face, as you rightly say. But if you do not choose that path you will be forever stuck in a sort of childhood dependence and on with a false life.

I see it as a choice we are all faced with, and many do not make/take it. I believe it is also a choice of being truly what your potential is; to become truly mature and flower. It can be a lonely road, but our fears are not usually a prediction of the future, and becoming yourself is usually rewarded.

I feel that if you choose the direction of independence a new life will fairly soon form around you. It usually happens, with a few hesitations.

Mikey  - Good news.

Here is a little more about the vision that can come from the Hawk. It is something he experienced during such a 'flight'.

"The words now, without the vision seem empty. But as it was happening I could see the vast sweeps of time and how the individual human life is woven into the whole pattern of events, and how the present life is in every way an extension of that weaving. This opened a view I had never seen before, as an expression, in ordinary or extraordinary human events, of these vast sweeps of history, of how huge dramas are involved in the most simple of human events. I saw that when our vision expands, when, like a great hawk our awareness soars above this moment, and takes in the huge horizons that stretch away from this time, this place, this period of our life, we gain a vision of tremendous context, tremendous background for all that surrounds us and we experience. In fact this ‘context’ was so enormous I could, even with this wide view, not grasp it all."

Hi Mikey - Lucky you to be on a Loch in the Highlands and be visited by a creature of the sky. And of course there are no 'coincidences'.

The hawk is best described by the ancient Egyptian Horus, and is an 'eye in the sky' which sees all. So I think it was a gift of wider awareness that flew low to let you know in not uncertain terms that such sight is with you.

If you imagine yourself taking the hawk into you, your body and mind, what do you feel?

Dream Interpretation / Re: Dream with guide's message
« on: March 15, 2012, 11:16:19 AM »
Horizen – Well, you seem to have got the message. It’s not always an easy one to learn, but it is all as part of becoming whole and also accepting the light and the dark in oneself.

The only things I can add are that you start off in a movie theatre, where life dramas are played and viewed. Also you are with school kids, where things are learnt or avoided – not ABC things but life lessons. And you learnt from what your dreams portray is to be prepared, but to avoid interactions, “Not partaking of the fun”. “Because you know where this ‘fun’ can lead”.

Maybe he is a Trickster type person who is an unpredictable yet wise(?) clown.

To quote from http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/archetype-of-trickster-clown-and-the-fool/

Trickster delights in all sorts of pranks mischief and jokes. James Lewis, in his book The Dream Encyclopaedia, says that Trickster is not by nature evil, even though the results of his activities are often unpleasant. These activities centre around bringing attention to our own or other peoples often hidden stupidity, shams or lies. He is also the unexpected spontaneous idiot aspect of life which for no reason at all emerges into our carefully arranged life to upset it. Trickster is a shape shifter and so has the possibility of transformation. The undeveloped, idiot side of this symbol may have a type of clear-sightedness due to lacking the complications and contradictions of thinking and intellectual values. It also may be creative in a serendipitous sort of way. Because it doesn’t seriously hold onto a purpose or idea, this side of our nature may lead us to something new, a change of direction. In some dreams the fool is a figure who is sacrificed.

The fool or clown is also about the ability to either laugh at the ridiculousness of life, or to cut through the social shams and reveal our hypocrisy in an acceptable way. This makes the fool or clown wise, because they can see through who we are and what people do. Their talent is to reveal such things to us.

Dream Interpretation / Re: Mountain Lion Dream
« on: March 15, 2012, 10:10:09 AM »
Iteachpeace – Our dreams are all like computer games in which we may reach a point in the game where we – or our dog – are killed. And of course we can dream it again and again and we and our dog are okay and unhurt. But if we learn the skill of getting past that particular hazard, then we can move on without being killed. And of course our dream – game – is all about lessons we need to learn in life and relationships.

Wild animals have their own language and communications. Shaun Ellis who lived for a year in the wild with wolves, said that one wolf gripped his face but he stayed still, because that is a sign of surrender that is respected. So your dog being killed might not be the same and in the dream is saying, in the voice of the mountain lion, “I am here now, and am in the place of this dog”. Of course she could kill you in an instant in the game of your dream – unless you develop the skill to get past that point.

A dream image is simply a mask you use to describe a feeling or a realisation. So if you imagine yourself as the mountain lion you will get behind the mask and will feel your fear – that was diminishing.

So if you walked up to the lion – remember it is only a dream image, and not to be recommended in waking life - and if you do it again and again until you have tamed your lion/fear you will have developed the skill to meet your own wonderful wild self with all its strength, fierceness and majesty. You will have met yourself, and gained a great and new facet of the jewel you are.

Remember the meeting with the lion came about because you had found a new place to be and danced, a sure way to rouse your energy.

Dream Interpretation / Re: the dream that freaked me out
« on: March 14, 2012, 01:42:21 PM »
Melyndab – As you say, you are freaking out. And I think that is what this dream is about. I believe that seeing what is happening to the world around you, and that led you to feel great fear that anything could happen. That in itself is scary, but when you think in that way about your children and man it can drive you crazy. Maybe it isn’t conscious fear, but seeing what is happening around you could lead to such fear inside you.

I see it as a very desperate dream, where you could see your Caleb being injured and you could call on help from another man, Matt. I don’t think it is a predictive dream, but it probably is that you sense the future is uncertain, and so you are doing the worse scenario and seeing that you could survive.

But it shows you in a panic mode, and it is wise to steady up and take time to see what you could do if the future does become difficult. How would you prepare?

Dream Interpretation / Re: not the time to have an identity crisis !
« on: March 13, 2012, 11:58:19 AM »
Mikey – Well I had to do some research to really understand what to say about your dream, and I saw I didn’t have an entry on helicopter in the dictionary, so put one in. It all takes time.

It seemed to me that the helicopter is a very important part of the dream, even though you were worried about having the right documents. Because a helicopter, even a small one – and I take it you were to pilot it – is a remarkable machine. It can be a war machine that can hover and land anywhere. It can rescue people or be an amazing escape vehicle. It can lift you up and allow you to see so much further and clearer than even before. In fact you can get a new and enhanced view of your life, seeing where you came from and even where you want to go.

The number three is about magic, intuition, fecundity, and advantage. It is a sign of great creativity; the sort of creativity that comes from the synthesis of past present and future, mother, father and child.

So I get the feelings that your dream is about a big opportunity to see and experience new things, to have wider view of life and under your own steam. Now all you need is the permission from the official in charge – the wise guide, your higher self – and perhaps you need a bowed head to accept the blessing.

Dream Interpretation / Re: watching my young son fall to his death
« on: March 13, 2012, 09:56:48 AM »
Rdefee – I believe your dream is about loss, but not due to death. I have four boys and I lost each one but not to death. As each one became independent I felt the loss such as you dreamt of. And the last one was an agony because with one left I still had a son. But with that one gone I couldn’t sit still and had to walk up and down the street with it until I had found peace.

From the description of your dream it does sound as if it is the beginning of yours son’s move to independence. Some others dream of their son dying or falling off a bridge when that happens. So rest assured that it is only a painful time and you and your son will survive.

The thing about him not being there is a way of saying he has gone, he has died to his old dependency and has a new life.
