Dream Interpretation / Re: My mom was mentally challenged...

Green Siren –I am not sure I can comment on your dream at any length because there are only a few words to go on in your description.

Dreaming of your mother in this way can mean many things. Your mother is part of your body and she provided you with the very foundations of your present life experience. So it could mean you are in your unconscious feeling uncertain of those foundations.

Another possibility is that each of us has a fundamental, perhaps instinctive, drive to bond with a woman at birth. This has generated from millions of years of survival strategy. If that bonding does not take place, much of what would have been natural unfoldment and growth, cannot, or does not, take place. So mother sometimes represents this whole difficult issue of survival and what happened in those early years of trying to become independent of such extraordinary needs. So if you recognise any of those symptoms maybe it is about that.

But a great deal of our life and energy goes into becoming independent of our mother. Our whole life is a movement toward, or a failure to become independent. So maybe your dream was a way of presenting you with a need to care for our dream mother, and so change roles. And although we may be independent in body and economically, man of us are still dependent emotionally.

Dream Interpretation / Re: Dream about Eagle and flying Horse

Nikki – I used to think six children were what we wanted until it reached three and we both felt that was enough. But then I had a dream of an invisible spirit – quite scary – telling us not to be frightened, he only wanted us to form a body for him. Again scary because of the cost and hard work involved, but we went ahead. Then we had one more making our family five.

But I cannot see any mention of another child in your dream. Rather it is an inspirational dream. What came to earth was a wonderful Pegasus.

Such dreams are difficult to understand unless you have explored dreams. It is, as you say, magical, the sort of magic that can touch your heart so deeply that your eyes open to a new way of seeing things, and therefore of doing things. Such changes can be quite subtle, and yet can change your life. So it is like door that you had never seen before in your house suddenly opening and there is a totally new place to explore. Also the winged horse can transform you – in mind – to new worlds.

If you have a mind to do it, imagine yourself as the winged horse and see what feelings arise. See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/acting-on-your-dream/

Dream Interpretation / Re: Death and Names
« on: February 06, 2012, 11:14:48 AM »
Ketsuekiame – It would have helped to know whether you are male or female. Also it doesn’t help that this is someone else’s dream. Their words and style of writing is a part of understanding a dream. But here goes.

The old building is a powerful influence from their past. It dominates what follows in the dream. The gargoyles are things from their past, fears they have that they haven’t faced up to and say are a part of a shapeless haunting feeling. That leads to a preoccupation with death - what is it; will it come for me; I am afraid.

Then he uses your image in his dream as a way of escaping death – because it is you that has died so he has, temporally escaped. The change of name I would like to know the dreamer’s relationship with the Brian Stevens, without which it is simply a change in the game of death.

In a way you in his dream has nothing to do with you. A dream is a wonderful virtual reality in which we use the image of other people to play with our own preoccupations. As I wrote in another place - So your dream was a game in which you wanted to experience death. But of course it could have been anything you imagined it to be. As Dunne says in his book Experiment with Time – “The whole range of composition lies before you, and this with an instrument, the keyboard of which is a lifetime of human experience of every description. Do not fear or shirk the experience. The more varied it is, the finer becomes your instrument, and the richer the possible effects.”

In other words the more varied, the deeper or higher you can experience life, the further you reach into understanding what you are, the greater will be your creations in your inner life. And death will no longer be a mystery. We reproduce in dreams the limits or the wonder of our own life experience. So your own dream would have been much better. Perhaps you are looking to the other dreamer for your own understanding.

Nikki – A Mother in France! What a lovely way to introduce yourself – and you run a garden centre – what else could I wish for. Oh no! You’ve got a dog as well!

And Capricorns are not ‘down to earth’. I have known some and they were wild – I mean known.

The more you explore your dreams the more they open up and become a fount of inspiration.

Dream Interpretation / Re: Being chased and fighting vampires
« on: February 05, 2012, 11:34:17 AM »
Jenny – Well, it seems as if you had the right idea of dealing with vampires – you fought back instead of acting like a passive frightened person.

If you can realise that we create the things we are frightened of out of our belief in them or our inability to meet what is our own abilities, strengths and viewpoints. So fighting back is like saying, “Okay the thought of vampires is scary, but it will not stop me fighting back and protecting my children”. With that attitude you will gradually stop dreaming of vampires. Vampires are a thought or fear that threatens to rob you of your energy and decisive power.

Remember that dreams are emotions and thoughts that are clothed in images by the dream process. If you drop the scary image, get rid of it, what are you left with – fear? And that is all you are – emotions, fears, courage and wonder that you make dramas and dreams out of. So have a read of http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/dream-yoga/

JustMe - The trick is to not look to far ahead but make one step at a time in the direction you want to go.

A friend of my who was unhappy in her work and wanted to change to working with people and felt it was impossible, but four years later she is a qualified psychotherapist with clients. At the start she felt it was impossible.

So give whatever you can of yourself to others, and keep taking the next step. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNZVV4Ciccg

And keep your hope alight.

Dream Interpretation / Re: A lion
« on: February 05, 2012, 10:58:28 AM »
Loobylou – A lovely dream.

Its starts with you going to or about to witness a special event. But the special event is to see the real nature of the dream lion – a beautiful strength that we all have from Life having experienced all creatures, and we are Life.

We are all naked Life when we are born. As a baby you were a small vulnerable animal, with all the natural instincts to feed, to survive, and to bond with your mother. You didn’t know how to speak or use language, and if you had been left without being taught you would end up an animal with the instincts to survive, but no human personality. The human soul is not given to us at birth; it is a gift from one self aware human being to a little being with great potential. See http://dreamhawk.com/interesting-people/animal-children/

And the lion in the dream is a wonderful example of our inner strength – it was a warning that he/the lion was superior. We can see this in so many dreams where people run terrified from dream animals – it comes through ignorance of the nature of ourselves and dreams.

Freya – It would be of great help to me to know, seeing that you were in your parent’s mausoleum, whether your parents were dead.

I ask because later you say, “Father and another man standing outside.”

It will help me give a better reading.

Shelbie - It sounds from your dream that you have come quite a way on your inner journey. And obviously the dream is a healing one in some way. But I think the healing is not your actually husband that a part of you. Because dreams are simply images which are trying to communicate something important. See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/characters-or-people-in-dreams/

The main work seems to be in connection with the previously owned building. I feel the dream is describing what I call the past places of your dwelling – you past dwelling places or past lives. The reason you can’t remember them is that this body has developed a local recent memory. In other words you have a new brain. The long memory is in your Core self, which is only usually available when you dig deep enough into your self. And I feel your work on yourself is uncovering the Core memories.

The fridge is probably a sign that you have had a lot of you in cold storage and it needs removing so you can remember who you are.

Then you have a wonderful gift in the bird and the white owl. It is white because it is an expression of your Core vision, your intuition, which can see in the dark places of you and bring them to light.

Saying Dad shows how we feel when we are in the presence of a Parent. Not of course our actual teacher, but your inner parent. You will meet it fully soon I am sure.

Please read http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/acting-on-your-dream/ and also http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/dream-yoga/

The unfinished area – a basement – says again that this is the area that we all have to work on – our unfinished life work from the past.

OishiiMiira (delicious mummy?) – It certainly sounds like a son is trying to be born to you – and he says it will be soon. But the 99% thingy is getting in the way.

Have you seen http://dreamhawk.com/pregnancy-childbirth/children-of-our-dreams/ and http://dreamhawk.com/pregnancy-childbirth/the-baby-in-your-dream/  notice the foot on the stomach?

Babies who declares themselves to clearly usually have a way to manage us humans.

MK – I got such a lot of good feelings as I shared your enthusiasm.

I get the impression from your hair dream that you are going through a massive transformation of how you see or feel about yourself, and haven’t settled down yet in where you are going.

Hi SaraBee - It is difficult for me to retrace the avenues of thought and intuition that led me to the statement about sacrilege. But I think you are right in what you say about her not being aware of her own wonder.
