Dreams involving dead horses
« on: February 04, 2016, 09:43:42 PM »
Hello I posted this dream to the website:

Need serious help with a horse dream. In the dream I was underwater, like I was in the ocean, but I was there in spirit so I was not drowning. A dead woman was swimming in front of me asking over and over “where is my child?” Her dead child was swimming behind me and try as I might to tell her, she could not hear me. I looked above and saw 6 dead horses. All missing their legs from the knee down. These horses tried to climb out of the water using odd wooden ladders, but could not get above water due to the missing parts of their legs. This dream happened over a month ago and is haunting me terribly.

Anna replied asking me to join the forum.  In the meantime, I had a second horse dream.

In this one, a beautiful horse, a sable brown mare I have seen in my mind's eye sometimes when I think about horses, was in the dream.   I was walking by a field toward a stable.  My husband was with me.  We turned to see the horse but she had been butchered.  Her insides were visible, I saw loops of intestines sticking out.  It was highly graphic and upsetting.  I told my husband to look away and he did not do so in time and began to vomit at what he saw.  His feet sunk into the mud of this field we were walking by as he tried to get away from me and the horses' body.   I kept walking to the stable and saw the mare had been skinned.  Her whole skin, as if her body were somehow just removed from the inside, was laying in the stall and the tongue was still attached and visibly sticking out.  A tan horse was to the left of her in a diff stall.   This horse was very agitated and turned to face away from me as I entered.  I was heartbroken to see the horse skin, it slid down a bit as I walked by it, and I just started saying "oh no" over and over.  I felt guilty like something I did caused this though I had done nothing.  I woke here.  I'm so upset by all this.  Any help would be so appreciated.   I mentioned in the web post that I'm having health issues, and these are persisting.  By coincidence or not, they are affecting my legs and my abdomen.  I have had 2 abdominal surgeries in my life.  I don't know if this is somehow connected.  Thanks for your help!!

Dear T – I suppose Anna has suggested you read Animals in Your Brain – if not please see http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/brain-levels-and-dreams/#mammalbrain

Most medical procedure tends to treat physical symptoms or problems, but we are also a mind, emotions and a Life process. The damage in-turned or negative emotions can do is enormous. Many years ago a woman who could hardly walk came to stay with my wife and I. She hobbled along using two sticks. Within a week, without any treatment, she could walk normally. She told us with great enthusiasm that she now knew what had caused her illness. Three years previously her son had married and had asked if he and his new wife could lodge in his parent’s house for a few weeks while they looked for a house of their own. His mother felt resentful that he and his wife had stayed for years and made no effort to move out. But being a Christian woman she kept her feelings to herself. She ended the story by saying, “Being on holiday away from the situation has allowed me to be free of the resentment, and this has healed my legs. So I know what I am going to do when I get home. I am going to tell my son and his wife to pack their things and move out.”

Your dream shows you in fact have a beautiful horse - the Life process that energises you and gives you health – but you have unwittingly butchered your beautiful inner helper, like the woman. You “felt guilty like something I did caused this.”
I know it is difficult to understand how this could be you doing it. But to understand it you need more information about how your mind/being works. While we sleep our conscious self is largely or totally unconscious, and while we sleep our voluntary muscles are paralysed – therefore another will or motivating force moves our body. So we have a Conscious Will, and what I will call a Life Will. The first one we have experience of as we can move our arm or speak in everyday activities; but the second will takes over when we sleep.
It is the Life Will that grew you and cares for all your vital functions - which you are totally unaware of. So the most active and important part of you is unconscious. But to become more aware of what part your beautiful but butchered horse plays in your physical illness, you need to work at something. Perhaps by using being the horse - http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/acting-on-your-dream/#BeingPerson – but first read what is described below.

Dreams images are like icons on a computer screen - You have to ‘click’ on your dream images to make them come alive. Thinking about them doesn’t work. You need to open yourself to the magic of them.

To make them into the wonderful gateways they are you may have to learn certain skills. The first one is to see if you can ‘work’ your energy and emotions. If they are locked you cannot ‘click’ on your dreams.

1 – Stand in a comfortable balanced position with the hands in front of the chest, palms together and eyes closed.
2 – Imagine that as you breathe-in, the air is fanning a small glowing coal inside the chest. The incoming air makes the coal glow gently, and you breathe slowly and with awareness. This coal is just a symbol of the subtle pleasure sensations generated by slow purposeful inhalation. If you can be directly aware of this pleasure, dispense with the image of the coal.
3 – In either case, let the hands indicate the amount of this glow or pleasure. Let them do this by moving apart, so if the pleasure is intense the hands reach wide. As you exhale and the glow fades, let the hands come together. But if there is little felt, then the hands remain unopened.
4 – If you find your hands and arms respond then let a feeling or warmth or love flow out to everyone, and as they pull back feel as if you are drawing in what others give you in this subtle way.
5 – If you have managed that and felt it working in you, then and only then let you energy move upwards, and eventually downwards so you get the sideways movement flowing into the up and down energy flow. Let your being show you how.

After that you need to read and use http://dreamhawk.com/approaches-to-being/the-lifestream/#Open to enter the huge world you hold within you.
