A bowl of keys
« on: December 04, 2017, 03:19:51 AM »
I don't remember much about the dream but this image came to me later and I thought hmm, this must be important. I was driving so I couldn't write down any details. I'm not sure what triggered the dream, but my husband has been out of town and I've been overwhelmed. I have two other families temporarily living with us aside from 4 children of our own (although one moved out several months ago). I also work full time as a crisis/trauma counselor. This particular night/morning was friday/Saturday so I had worked all week and had to get up early again to take my daughter somewhere. If my husband had been home he would have almost surely taken her.

The details i remember are coming to a small room with several entry arches or openings, but no windows or doors that I recall. It seems like the room was painted goldenrod shade. It was daytime, plenty of natural light filled the room. There was medium sized clear bowl on small square dark wooden table. The bowl was filled almost to the top with clear water. Inside the bowl of water, inexplicably, was a set of keys on a keyring. I'm pretty sure it was an electric key fob, like car keys.  I think there were two keys, but 1-3 is possible. I didn't touch them, just found the placement curiously odd. Upon recalling the dream/scene I thought "keys in a bowl of water. I wonder what that could mean". I don't feel like I was alone, but I don't have a specific image or memory of anyone being with me either.

I'm a 38 year old female living in Southeast USA.

MDavis – Well it is certainly an interesting dream, and the whole setting of place, table, bowl and water is deeply meaningful in dreams. I take it the bowl was circular? If so it gives the significance of a circle within a square.

The small room entered through arches with golden rod colour suggests entering a new experience in yourself, one without barriers. The colour signifies lightness, probably lightness of heart.

Then the table and bowl take you deeper into yourself. For it suggests a circle within a square indicates your instinctive search to find balance or harmony between our physical experience and our spiritual nature. Maybe a search for meaning – what am I?

The keys in the bowl extend the story your dream unfolds further. For the water is what penetrates every part of your being and represents the very fundamental you, your process of Life. The keys are what can give you entry in to opening yourself to your being. But first you need to dip your hands into the water, a cleansing process – something that is required before entering temples – and your body is the sacred temple.
