Bullet

A bullet often links with feeling wounded, hurt, or the desire to wound or hurt. Therefore, being shot in the chest or stomach suggests feeling the impact of someone else’s attack in one form or another. But remember that in the end it is you doing the shooting. See Dreams are a reflection of your inner world

Dodging bullets might therefore illustrate the way you are dealing with anxiety, with difficult life situations or hurtful situations in a relationship – perhaps criticism or direct verbal or social attack. Firing bullets would be the opposite of this, directing aggression or criticism at someone else.

Bullets can also depict sexual impregnation or aggressive sex.

In some dreams there is a link with fear of or exploration of death – a sort of ‘what happens when I die’ feeling.

But remember that whenever we dream its images are not like real life, because a dream is nothing like outer life where things could hurt you, but is an image like on a cinema screen that even if a gun is pointed at you and fired it can do no damage – except if you run in fear; so all the things that scare or hurt you are simply your own fears projected onto the screen of your sleeping mind.

See: shot; war.

Useful questions are:

What is my dream suggesting I am anxious about or hurt by?

What hurtful words or actions am I aiming at someone?

Am I feeling wounded by someone, or by events from the past?

I dreamt there were a couple of pigeons flying around my room, I found this irritating so I shot at them. The gun was not that effective but one went ‘down’ and I thought ‘oh no , now I will have to dispose of it. Then from a far point in the room another type of bird (like a small greyish coloured dove) was moving towards me, not flying, just moving nearer and nearer . I noticed in its feet it was holding a round ball bearing type object (a bullet?). I reached out and took the object and felt enchanted by the bird, it allowed me to hold it and stroke it. It felt very good. Could you interpret please. Does the dove -like bird represent my Self in Jungian terms?

    -Tony Crisp 2018-06-25 11:31:53

Bea – We have to judge the dream from the results. You killed one bird and that got rid of your irritations, but it did produce an “Oh no” feeling. Every thing in dreams symbolises something else, all tied up with your associations, see https://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/association-of-ideas-with-dreams/#Working

The second bird, you ask, “Does the dove like bird represent my Self in Jungian terms?”

The Self I see as the awareness of everything you are, and I don’t see that in your dream. But the bird does bring you another symbol of the Self – the ball, that you held in your hand.

But dream images are like icons on a computer screen – you have to ‘click’ on your dream images to make them come alive. Thinking about them doesn’t work. You need to open yourself to the magic of them. To make them into the wonderful gateways they are you may have to learn certain skills, such as https://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/acting-on-your-dream/#BeingPerson and https://dreamhawk.com/dream-dictionary/practical-techniques-for-understanding-your-dreams/

Your dream promises a great deal but it seems like the first step to knowing the Self. Beginning the journey along what has been called in the past the spiritual path. In plain language this means the slow entrance of your personal awareness into what exists beyond the frontier of sleep. Taking the focussed light of self awareness into the darkness of the unconscious world of sleep and the body. If you take this path, at some point you will confront the fundamental consciousness of the universe and recognise your existence in it. It will need you to meet fear, anger and many strange things – strange to you. See https://dreamhawk.com/inner-life/extending-your-awareness/ and https://dreamhawk.com/approaches-to-being/opening-to-life/

Example: To my amazement a huge living and wondrous circle appeared on the wall. It was full of movement, everything dancing in time to music. At the very centre of the circle was emptiness, nothing, a void. Yet out of this nothingness all things emerged. There were plants, animals, people, hills, rivers and mountains all coming to birth. They danced out in their own individual movement, yet each unknowingly was part of the whole wonderful and intricate dance which made a great pattern and movement in the body of the circle. All danced to the periphery and there turned and moved, still in their ballet, back to the centre. At that centre they plunged into its oblivion again. But at that very moment new life sprang from it to dance once more.

Last night in my dream as I was stepping out of a car down the street I live on, a young man possibly my age looked at me head to toe and fired few shots, as dreams are weird I suddenly am few buildings up now and my sibling is with me as we are watching two of my neighbors being walked up the street also wounded which were never at the science. As I am with my sister I feel slight pain and can feel a bullet near bottom of my spine. I was bleeding and can see blood and constantly touching the bullet and seeing my blood. During my sleep I was having several continuous streams and the whole time I have this bullet in me still and cannot stop reaching and touching my wounded area. I believe I stopped all the dreaming last when suddenly now I’m in a hospital E.R. with nobody In lobby and am yelling “I have a bullet by my spine I might get paralized” as my eyes slowly were closing and I was limping around. Not sure I died because I can’t remember if my other dreams from same right with the wound were before or after the hospital. I searched the web and can’t seem to find anything about bullet wounds around spine and/or bullet still in body…?

Meron – Dreams are hard to understand because they use images instead of words; probably because dreams are function of the process of Life – and living beings have been around for an unimaginable time before language was developed – a very new process.

So the street you live on does not refer to the actual street, but to everything you associate with the street, especially the feelings. Obviously from the dream it can be a dangerous place because many people have guns, and guns equal hurt or death.

So you have been hurt at some time, not necessarily be being shot, but by anything that hurt or threatened you. The guy who shot you is still a dream image, but all the people, animals, places you see in your dreams, are simply your own feelings, fears, hopes and wonder projected onto the screen of your sleeping mind as images. Se he represents the feeling or fear that caused the hurt. You can define this by using https://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/acting-on-your-dream/#BeingPerson

It is also worth realising that whenever we dream its images are not like real life, because a dream is nothing like outer life where things could hurt you, but is an image like on a cinema screen that even if a gun is pointed at you and fired it can do no damage – except if you react in fear; so all the things that scare you are simply your own fears projected onto the screen of your sleeping mind.

You seem to be aware in some degree because you keep making contact with the bullet and the blood – the loss of energy. You touch it so you must be aware of the hurt. The fact it was shot suggest someone attacked you maybe verbally and the feelings lodged in you and still trouble you.

The base of the spine in dreams often represents the urge to copy or reproduce oneself, or the source of your energy. You were certainly healing, shown by the hospital, but your energy is getting lower and was shown as the feeling of dieing.

What can you do about it; well you might be able to use https://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/secrets-power-dreaming/ or https://dreamhawk.com/approaches-to-being/opening-to-life/

Last night I had a dream that I opened my front door and a strange man i’d never seen before shoots a bullet into my stomach. I do not feel the pain. He leaves and i close the door. I sit down on the couch and lift up my shirt to touch the bullet wound and its crusted, dry, and old. I try to call 911 but the cell phone screen is glitching and won’t respond to my touch because I’m too cold. So then i just sit down and accept that this is how I die. Then i slowly woke up. What does this mean?

Hi – I am stopping from answering your posts fully – but will try to give hints; sometimes long ones because I quote from masses I have already put online. Also, I need to take time to update the site – dreamhawk.

It would help you to understand your dreams, if you would read – http://dreamhawk.com/approaches-to-being/questions-2/#Summing and also http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/features-found-on-site/ which has so much information in.

    Tony

First – Whenever we dream its images are not like real life, because a dream is nothing like outer life where things could hurt you, but is an image like on a cinema screen, so that even if a gun is pointed at you and fired it can do no damage – except if you run in fear; so, all the things that scare you are simply your own fears projected onto the screen of your sleeping mind.

Also all the people, animals, places we see in our dreams, are simply your own feelings, fears, hopes and wonder projected onto the screen of your sleeping mind as images. So, it makes sense to take the image of your dream person, thing or animal back into you and own it. In that way, you are meeting and dealing with the things about yourself you are not owning or conscious of. That is why dreams are often difficult to understand, because we are hiding things from ourselves.

I feel your dream is about an old wound – probably from a man. You still feel the effects of this in everyday life. It says that you are not faced with physical death, but you as a person, unless you recognise and do something about the situation, will slowly lose your self confidence – like a death.

The night before i made a decision of acceptance, i dreamt of a man in a viewing tower with a young guy whom i assumed is his son. They locked themselves in that room. I can hear shooting and the wall and windows were holed due to bullets shotting thr’. His son whom the man hugged tightly was wounded with many shots but no blood and was turned into a lifeless cushion which he continued to cling to. As for the man, he was completely unhurt by all these shotting and seemed like he will not leave the room to surrender.
I then saw a big white blanket appear at the side of the room. I woke up and felt pluzzed by my dream.

I had a dream that I was helping a friend move. It was a beach home with a ramp to the ocean. I was inside and heard some fighting. Two of my friends were arguing with some unknown people. One of my friends stood infront of me while the other ducked. I heard the friend that covered me say get down while we were on the ramp. Then I looked up and my friend who was moving out came out side. I yelled at her to get down and I crawled to her side to protect her. By then bullets were flying. I dodged a few but the last one grazed my head. I told the friend who was protecting me to call it in. I touched my head to see if I was okay and I passed out and woke back up. Just curious as to what it means

The friend represent an aspect of yourself. See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/characters-or-people-in-dreams/

You are obviously going through a change shown by the moving. But a conflict occurs within you. This might be because you are not good at meeting big changes, and so get hit in the head by the emotions you meet. But in fact if you can dare to meet what attacks you, you are ready to meet the sea, the great inner world of Life.

Whenever we dream its images are not like real life, because a dream is nothing like outer life where things could hurt you, but is an image like on a cinema screen, so that even if a gun is pointed at you and fired it can do no damage – except if you run in fear; so, all the things that scare you are simply your own fears projected onto the screen of your sleeping mind.

Had a dream that 3 men were selling guns/ammo and I met up with them to buy from them. They were friendly the whole time. I distinctly remember that during our encounter they put the bullets in a pan facing upward and poured clear liquor into it to erase the serial numbers or something of that sort. The bullets kept falling over so I helped them hold them up until the process was over.

Saw a dream that i shot myself in stomach with a bullet and blood started coming out. Then i removed the bullet with my hand. Worried to know the meaning of it. Please help.

    -Tony Crisp 2016-09-26 10:29:05

Peter – The wound in the stomach is the feelings you get when someone threatens you. There is no actual physical harm it is only fear that causes harm in dreams – as I say over and over to people, you cannot actually get hurt or die in dreams. And that is an important lesson for you.

To shoot yourself suggests that you are hurting yourself by either taking peoples abuse seriously, or yourself feeling you are no good, have lost a lover, or some other form of self-abuse. See http://dreamhawk.com/approaches-to-being/questions-2/#Victim
