Pegasus

In folklore and religion we find frequent mention of the winged horse. This symbolises the sexual or instinctive drives that have not been repressed, but allowed, in conjunction with consciousness and reason, to develop the higher possibilities latent in them. Put in plain language this suggests that the sexual drive rises like a wave that carries our conscious desires with it. This energy wave rises, but in fulfilling itself in genital sex the wave falls again, self-awareness with it. However, if the energy is released, and yet not allowed to spill out in the full sexual release, the energy keeps on rising – flying in fact – lifting awareness with it, until it becomes a vast awareness of life and death. Observation of this suggests it awakens parts of the brain that were not really functioning before.

The white horse can have a similar meaning. For instance a woman turning her love of her children into social caring suggests a way of expression that goes beyond personal drives or the instinctive urges toward personal survival. She ‘flies up’ into a wider social context.

But sometimes the sexual or instinctive energy is not actually ‘lifted’ but frustrated and directed into neurotic activities. They are so powerful energies and also creative, that if they are damaged in their development in early life can express as distorted sexual practices or dangerous aggression.

In mythology Pegasus was born from the blood when Perseus cut off Medusa’s head. (Medusa representing the neurotic activities mentoned). Pegasus then lived roaming freely until Bellerophon caught him with a golden bridle given him by Athena. Bellerophon went through adventures such as the slaying of chimera with the help of Pegasus. But Bellerophon tried to ride Pegasus to Mount Olympus (Heaven) but Zeus caused Pegasus to throw him off and fall back to Earth. However Pegasus arrived at Mount Olympus where he served Zeus. The symbolic meaning of this is that when the uncontrolled and undirected processes of thought and intellect are stilled, a new level of experience or energy is released. This new way of relating to sexuality or life energy can uplift or expand consciousness to the point where we arrive at cosmic consciousness. But the old human personality cannot manage this and falls away as a new being emerges. Chimera, the destructive and illusory view of life arising from a purely sensory view of life is killed in the process.

Example: I had a dream last night that I was riding a massive muscular brown stallion. The horse seemed somewhat out of my control at first, but I didn’t feel any real danger. The horse told me to hold on and let go. I surrendered to the ride. We were free falling through the sky for a while. It was exhilarating and scary. I wondered how it would end. I searched for a better grasp on the harness the horse was wearing, then realized it didn’t matter I was staying with the horse regardless of my grip.

Just had my dream about 2 muscular and strong white pegasus horses flying in and out of the clouds. First time i dreamt about em and what I find on the web it seems like more and more people dream about that in this timeperiod. I found some more info about my dream. Flying Pegasus: A flying Pegasus in dream reflects freedom of thoughts. It means that you badly wish to break free from all the barriers of your life and fly freely. On the other end, a flying Pegasus dream is a good omen. It indicates success and progress in business.

Recently I am having a difficult period in my relationship and these days we are not talking to each other.I saw like he replied to my message and send me a photo of him and his friends in a kind of boat and somewhere in the background there were lots of animals which I don’t remember, but I only remember a white pegasus staying above the water, like standing in the water, with his wings closed. It seems so peaceful and everyone in the photo was smiling..

I dreamt that I was sleeping face up in bed and, in my dream, I felt some unusual weight on top of me. I opened my eyes to find nothing was there, but I still felt the weight on my tummy and hips. Suddenly, I started to see two forms of lit up static about the size of my hand. To my surprise, the static turned into two tiny winged unicorns. They were babies and it felt as if they were my own babies. They were loving and cuddly. I named them Thunder and Starlight. I was extremely happy but then I woke up. I tested up today remembering this because I miss them and wish I could see them again. I feel as if they were mine in another life.

    Tony

Caroll – Not past lives, but in the other half of the dual lives we all live. The dual half that you gave birth in, is the extraordinary and different world of dreams. We all have an inner world that is quite distinct from the outer world we encounter with our physical senses. It is the world we meet when we have an emotional reaction, an idea, or close our eyes and live in our fantasies, imagination or dreams.
When we enter our inner world we enter a state of mind that includes the death state, the near death state and of course the sleep and dream state. In that condition you leave the limitations of the physical world and enter an endless wonder. The wonder of it includes going beyond time so that you know things that otherwise you would only slowly have discovered by meeting them in the slow progress of living in the body, dealing with the things that hold you back from expressing your enormous potential, and living who you really are.

The mythical creatures such a unicorns, Pegasus, and dragons, have not reality in waking world, but are very powerful and meaningful parts of our inner dream world.

As I said, “So the unicorn and the pure female represent this transformation or raw animal urges into creative human action and awareness. The virgin represents the virginal mind or heart that doesn’t hold any preconceptions.” And you have two aspects pf it that are worth exploring using http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/acting-on-your-dream/#BeingPersonOrThing

Hi Tony and Anna,
I just had a dream of two white flying horses (Pegasus didn’t come to my mind in the dream) that were like coming out of a fantasy story as in more beautiful than just a pegasus.
These two horses were flying and playing together as a pair and going towards one direction that is bright afar. It’s not clear that those flying horses are a pair or not in the dream but they do play together as such to me in the dream. The light surrounding is not that bright (like dawn or dusk) and you can see the direction towards that brighter place afar.

I believe it’s a positive omen as I feel drawn to watch/follow them in the dream.
Thank you for any of your interpretation

I dreamt I was walking down a country road with my best friend past a pasture full of horses. I admired a black Friesian horse for a minute then continued walking. We started humming an unfamiliar tune and heard the horses running. We turned back to watch them and noticed they were running in our direction. We stopped humming and they stopped running. So we started humming again and they resumed their run. Then the Friesian ran to the front and leaped into the air and sprouted wings. He flew above our heads and circled us. We stopped humming and he landed in front of me and stood by my side.

Hi in my dream the world was going under. The leaders of the world had try to all escape with airoplanes in the sky in the morning.

My boyfriend and I was exploring empty buildings where people had left. At one point we are out in the free and I am laying down on my back next to my boyfriend.

There in the sky is a light purple horse with wings flying over the sky and it has sprinkling stars from within the skin of the horse that shines with their own light and lit him up on the sky. I tell my boyfriend look! Pegasus dives down from the sky and he looks me deep in the eyes with his eyes that are stars. Then the dream ended.
