Dawn – As I said in the Greetings section, “Life is about living and living is experiencing – you shared your experience.”
Your dream exposes both your vulnerable internal organs, and also the pain you feel about being thus exposed sexually.
But the two characters in the dream need explaining a bit. When you think about a friend or a person you meet or lived with, you are only taking in your thoughts, impressions and feelings about them. So many people do not realise that they have an inner person equally as powerful as the external person you know. You have taken in millions of bits of memory, lessons learnt, life experiences along with all the feelings or problems met by meeting or living with them, and they are what makes you the person you are. The memories and experience we gather unconsciously change us and are not lost. It is part of you and is symbolised in dreams as a person or event. Such an inner person can appear in dreams because you still carry the memories or impressions of them, and so they influenced what you hold within you.
So, it sounds as if your experiences of your ex and the old female boss and the memories you hold of them are torturous. It seems they put you through the rack and then your ex led you about while you were in no fit state of mind.
The dream is a mirror - whether we realise it or not, each time we sleep we create on apparently real world out of our remembered impressions, habits and emotions. As the stage managers of our inner theatre, we have the most abundant props, costumes and backdrops imaginable. Yet, because a dream is our own creation, no part of it, no emotion contained in it, no flight of fancy portrayed, is other than oneself. Even when we dream vividly of another person, such as the man in our life, the dream personality is made up of our own impressions, hopes and feelings.
So, you dream is showing you the state of your inner feelings at the time of the dream – the feelings that two characters, built out of your experiences with them, are torturing you and tearing your sexual responses to bits.
It is an awful picture, but dreams are made out of your feelings, your imagination and past experience. We can alter that in many ways, but for now I will suggest two. You said you were combative in one part of the dream, and you can let that part of you win the day – remember that your dream is not a prophecy of your future but a snapshot of your feelings at a particular moment.
