Questions about dreams / Re: What does this signify?
« on: March 14, 2011, 11:13:40 AM »
Janda – It depends entirely on what you felt when the hawk was flying toward you.

You didn’t say that you panicked or were afraid, so I take it, it wasn’t threatening you. Therefore I feel that it can mean that you are getting near to far seeing, like bird that is high and can see what is going on around it. Because it flies high it has an overview of what it surveys. It can therefore signify the spirit or the flight of the soul.

Dream Interpretation / Re: Disturbing Dream

Cherub – I think you are in a fix. You are terrified or animals – yet you ARE an animal. That means you are in fear of yourself. You have the animal actually as part of your brain – The reptilian brain; the mammalian brain; and the human brain. The human is built on the foundations of the reptile, and that is built upon the mammal in us. We would not exist without them. So you are in conflict with yourself.

Your dream shows you turning to your mother. Then the sun pours into your bedroom – a wonderful sign. But you never let it in – a sure sign you are hiding in a dark mental space. And after that the white dove, another wonderful sign of something you have left to die.

The sunlight is Life. Shutting it out means disaster. The white dove represents a downflow or what we could call ‘grace’ – or a spiritual experience.

Please face your fears and find Life.

Midlander – This is another step toward the inner conflict. So of course you were of significance to the Militia. You are, after all, the central character in the drama of your own life. But you managed to escape by reading a book. And you neatly locked it all away – in or out.

And what does John Cleese mean to you?

As for the cat food, I am reminded of the idiom – take the biscuit.  :) But apart from that you and your cat need to sort out why you need to test its nourishment.

Mikey – I have witnessed it again and again, how wonderful the unconscious is, and what wonderful ways it leads us – if we let it.

Although I feel it is a slight misnomer to call it the unconscious. It feels to me as if it is us who is unconscious, and THAT is the shining an fully conscious one.

About Shakti though, here is an interesting quote from Mind and Movement.

Shaktipat- The Indian Way to Enlightenment
In his article Between Coma and Convulsion, in Energy and Character, David Boadella quotes the report of a person studying the self-regulatory practices in India. Although this is a recent account, the yoga practice it describes has been used for many centuries in India:

I have been in India for about four months now and I thought the readers of Energy and Character might be interested in the similarities between Reichian work and Shaktipat or Kriya Yoga. The Sanscrit word ‘shakti’ means energy, bio-energy, or more correctly, bio- cosmic energy. Shaktipat is a practice which is described as the loosening of this energy by a guru from the way it may be blocked in us. When this shakti energy is loosened and no longer tightly bound by the control of the conscious mind it begins to circulate in the body. It is then said to open up energy channels or pathways, and usually begins to manifest in what are known as ‘kriya’. Kriyas are spontaneous movements of the body and of the respiratory system. One interesting aspect of kriyas, which resemble Reichian abreaction, is that they very often manifest as highly involved asanas (body postures) and as mudras (meditational postures involving the hands). I have seen many persons who practice shakipat enter a phase of intense energy flow in which breathing becomes rapid and involuntary and in which people begin with great rapidity to do asanas they never knew and which they ordinarily would never have been able to perform. Although the conscious practice of asanas facilitates this process, true hatha yoga (Indian techniques using physiological processes to integrate ones being) occurs involuntarily in this kriya phase. The burst of energy that results is sometimes astounding and may continue for well over an hour. The movements in some individuals are so intense and frantic they appear dangerous. In other persons the movements are soft, delicate and flowing. Thus some persons may breathe like locomotives, beat themselves repeatedly, stand on their heads, bellow, twist their limbs in the most unbelievable postures; others begin to dance harmoniously, to sing softly in languages they have never learned, to be¬come playful and flirtatious and to utter strange sounds.
The explanation for this is that the shakti is opening or purifying obstructions in the energy pathways, that the individual is working out the results of past actions and experience, and that an evolutionary process is allowed to unfold which eventually will result in an expansion of awareness.

In this kind of meditation the individual sits still, but not rigidly; he doesn’t concentrate in any way, but simply relaxes as much as possible and permits the energy to do its thing. The energy is of course thought of as ultimately cosmic or divine. Hence the path of enlighten¬ment lies in relinquishing ego control and identifications and allowing this bio-cosmic energy to express itself and lead us. The final results of this process is the opening of the highest brain centres in a new type of consciousness in which the individual merges with the universal consciousness. The total process takes a very long time but this should not dissuade us as each stage has its own rewards. The bodily spasms, automatic breathing, asanas, contortions and reflex patterns that manifest spontaneously as the energy gains momentum all serve to purify the organism. Though some of these phenomena may sound strange they are not experienced as unpleasant once the practitioner no longer totally identifies with bodily processes. Thus the meditator can be totally in their body without identifying totally with its experiences.

My experience is that this can start very gently, and is felt as a vibratory force flowing in your body, and can be felt by others.

Nashellbadu – There area three very different things going on here, though theme links them

The first is where you confront your feelings about your ex, and find that seeing his situation there is nothing to say or do. So that is more or less settled.

But the next dream shows that you still feel there is something unfinished, and that tends to curtail your freedom. What do you feel about the past relationship that is unfinished business?

Then the third dream is about another relationship that was unfinished because of his suicide. But that one says, more or less, “Look, don’t feel bad about me or what happened, because I am still smiling.”

You obviously felt bad about unfinished business, but the dream shows you another point of view.

Dream Interpretation / Re: a red dress and grandmothers.
« on: March 11, 2011, 10:31:57 AM »
Alisoni – I would like to have known what character the friend had that was modelling the red dress. Whoever we choose to put in our dreams is very carefully chosen, because they are aspects of your own self that are acting out in the dream. So if your friend, as you remember her was a very quiet girl it would suggest one thing; but as she was in a red dress and modelling it, I would suggest that she was someone who liked the bright lights.

Therefore, even without those associations, the red dress suggests you had a dream of your wedding being a very sensuous and glamorous affair. But your dream seems to be saying, “Keep your hands of this! Do not go in that direction.”

The direction it seems to be suggesting is the realisation that marriage is a family affair, and your ancestors need to be honoured in some way. They want it to be a warm thing, with acknowledgement of their honoured place in you life. And in the dream you do this.

So blessings on your marriage. And remember that the DreamHawk is ever watching and caring.

Diana - Please read the little book called Love Can Open Prison Doors. It is written by a  hardened criminal who turned his life around. Unfortunately the book is out of print and is so in demand the price is high, but you could request it from a library.

The least expensive I can find is here - http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?an=&tn=Love%20Can%20Open%20Prison%20Doors&pn=&kn=&sn=&isbn=&gpnm=&cty=-1&bi=Any%20Binding&fe=&sgnd=&dj=&prl=&prh=&sortby=&ds=25&afn_sr=para&para_l=0

Dream Interpretation / Re: Can't figure out what this dream means
« on: March 09, 2011, 01:15:46 PM »
Thank you. It helps me so much to have feedback - even if it is to tell me I missed the mark.

I was trying to find a quote from a woman I worked with one to one. It was about the massive influence of the father. Couldn't find it but here is a bit.

Quote
I guess it’s a process that needs to occur bit by bit: you can't turn over ingrained belief patterns all at once. The other day my neck tension became very painful and wearing and I felt very demoralised because I thought all my progress was an illusion. The next day I woke in a state of terror and anxiety but the tension had gone. "Good," I thought, "I would rather have the terror". And I have been trying to keep the terror and investigate it. It is the terror that I will not know how to deal with what life brings, or how to cope, and the resulting emotions will be overwhelming and ultimately blow me apart. So there are issues of self-trust, but I think that is because I am assuming that I'll be using my father's rules. I have to convince myself that if I use my rules, life will be a beach!

Carameldelites – I believe this is a clear example of you not facing up to the effects of the breakup.

Of course it wasn’t him in your dream. It would be very unusual even if you took your feelings and thoughts about him while awake as being him. They are only representations of what you feel about him and what you think about him – they are NEVER him.

I know that is a big one for many people to take in, but if you find it difficult to believe get a book about the brain and our feelings and thoughts.

So, what you dreamt about was your feelings about the breakup, and he was the incarnation of that, the image you used to meet those feelings. That is clear in the dream isn’t it? So you couldn't even feel comfortable about being near to those feelings.

If you cannot meet those feelings they will live on in you and completely mess up future relationships – like ghosts that will haunt you. So please imagine yourself back in the dream and do whatever will release you from those feelings. Shout, rave, kick him, whatever it is you need to do to be free.

Diana – If your son dreamt about this I feel he is a special soul.

29:011 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the
LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an
        expected end.

029:012 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me,
and I will hearken unto you.

029:013 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me
        with all your heart.

I feel he should seek the God of his heart and if the dream is correct he will find an unusual path in life.
