Dream Interpretation / Dragon Dream

I dreamed about a big, beautiful, red dragon.  This dragon was my best friend.  But the dragon got ill and angry and wanted my help.  He was not feeling well and I was scared that I would fail him.  I asked the dragon to come to my house to recover and the red dragon slept in my closet.  And while he was sleeping, I provided water or some liquid that the red dragon could drink and get better.  When he started to drink the water, the dragon got better.  All his glory and his beautiful scale came back and he was ready to go out and take the world.  And with me on top of him, flying around the world.

This dream was extremely clear and I couldn't stop thinking of it. 

What does this mean? Why does it feel that this dream was really important?
