Dream Interpretation / identity mixup.
« on: November 14, 2013, 03:23:57 PM »
I have been trying to get to the bottom of a dream I had last week,
one of those that seems simple in content but defies logic,
if I tripped over an elephant I would not know what it was, thats my thinking at the moment,
so I would really appreciate any help.
the dream.
I bump into a male I met on holiday in Rhodes in sept 2013,he says you remember my wife don't you,
I look at his wife & think ,that's not the woman I saw you with on holiday, she was nothing like her at all, physically that is.
I spent a while in the dream pondering this strange mystery, had I got it wrong, did I imagine he was with the other woman.if so,who's this other woman he is with now.

it probably has nothing to do with my feelings on holiday but more a metaphor for something going on a bit closer to home.as to what,it is bugging me,
I hear over & over in my head ,"thats not the female I saw you with,
look forward to your thoughts.

Questions about dreams / werewolves as symbols
« on: November 07, 2013, 12:05:23 PM »
hi,
a lot has been written about werewolves & as dream symbols, some of it a bit confusing,as always our own personal associations are as important as the collective ones.
most of the meanings I have come across, tend to centre around it symbolically representing a sexual predator, this may be one of its meanings,  as always it will depend on its actions in a dream, but to me its not the whole story,
a werewolf is a human who has become an animal, not just any animal ,an aggressive violent one,who has no control of his actions.
i once helped a lady who was plagued by werewolf dreams,
i asked her if she was in a masculine controlled environment,to put it politely,
my thoughts were ,she was in an abusive relationship, from which she could not escape.
she finally told me her male partner was very violent towards her, frequently & i quote, "dragging her around the room by her hair",most of the time he was loving & kind, but when he drank, there is the werewolf,
i think in most cases the symbology seems to suggest this violent, aggressive nature, either in another person around us or even within ourselves.
i am happy to report that the lady in question got out of the violent relationship,& is now a lot happier.
just thought i would share this with you all .

Dream Interpretation / Re: Strange dream about my grandfather
« on: October 29, 2013, 10:54:17 AM »
hi.
one of my favourite sayings,"not until a bond is broken,is the bond truly felt"
I think this is relevant to your dream,
you are re-visiting the scene of some aspect of your past, especially as you were heading downwards,
perhaps to find some sort of closure or emotional release, may be about your grand dad,
if it is about release of emotions surrounding that time in your life albeit repressed emotions ,then the dream has done its job,by taking you back ,the people that you did not like & didn't know why they were there ,may be metaphors for the  unconscious blockages put in place to conceal your pain,
to some ,what lies beyond death is pure conjecture,i don't know your beliefs but the dream would seem to reflect a truth, that at the very least your grand dad is really happy & ok,that may be his gift to you.
I may be totally off the mark ,but I hope something I have said is of use to you.

Dream Interpretation / the lady in red
« on: August 28, 2013, 04:23:42 PM »
hi ,had this dream last night,
before me is a dirt road,it seems dead straight leading out into the open countryside.
I say to myself, better start walking then.
on my left I notice a female, long blond hair,in a red dress, she is a friend who has come to see me off,
I am reluctant to kiss her to say goodbye, but I do anyway.
I am suddenly struck with the knowledge, that I am actually in love with her,and have not had the courage to reveal this to her,i tell her what I now feel, she also ,unbeknown st to me feels the same way,she then says she will now walk with me,
it was a lovely dream,

many years ago,i had a female friend called Alison, she was blond haired ,came from leamington spa in England,
just like the dream,i  managed to tell her my feelings,&  as in the dream ,she made her feelings known ,
came as a shock to me ,as I thought she was out of my league,we arranged to meet up a little later on in the week,
but something happened and i had to leave, never getting the chance to meet her again ,lost contact, never got to fullfill that part of my life,
I mention this background info,as I feel the dream relates to this ,i never got to complete this experience,& have never forgotten her,the dream I think is showing a completion of sorts,an acceptance before moving on,
secretly I wish it were a premonition,as it has left me feeling a little tortured.
look forward to any replies.

Dream Interpretation / Re: Apple tree
« on: July 01, 2013, 10:21:12 AM »
hi,
the apple tree,
this remindes me of the one in the the garden of eden story,
perhaps you are tempted by "forbidden fruits",
as tony has said, between the two choices you see yourself confronted with, the father figure, who would represent the knowing aspect within yourself,is telling you the correct action to take,
if your real father gave you advice,is it something you could trust,if the answer is yes, than I would listen to it,
as this is why the dream has used the symbol of your father to convey the instructions,
it is possible that the dream just reflects the state you find yourself in with regard to some decision you must make,
only you will know what it is,when you transfer & reflect the action & images to something going on in your life ,
keep us posted .

Dream Interpretation / Re: Trapped!
« on: May 03, 2013, 09:51:05 AM »
i am a great lover of mythological stories ,as there is always one that holds answers to what we have to face,
& dreams are our own personal myths.
with ref to the scary unseen forces you mention,i am reminded of George & the dragon,
he did not kill the dragon,he led it around on a silken rope,
confrontation with unconscious content or forces greater than ourselves  can be scary,(meeting the dragon) but when we accept it,it becomes an ally,(leading the dragon by a silken rope).
one thing to remember,it is one of many dragons! i wish you good luck.

hi,
so the answer to this dream,is most likely, your  fears are unfounded,
as both your own re-entry into the dream & your second one seem to confirm,if you woke up feeling better, then the dream has done its job,
a great mentor of mine,Joseph campbell called it,being helped by hidden hands,
forces are at work, that for the most part we are unconscious of,
hope everything pans out for you.

i think by waking up before the lorry hits, this in itself is a symbolic reference, may refer to your own thoughts of refusing to face something head on,or that the thought of a particular solution seems distasteful,
what would have happened if you didn't wake up from the dream ?
i am reminded of the juggernaut from Hindu mythology also another name for a lorry ,this god was a great obstacle remover,i think of a storm or tornado passing through ,can be destructive ,but clears the way for new growth,i think you already know this as your second comments refer ,
in myth the would be hero enters the cave to confront the dragon, this may be that moment for you,be brave sir knight,it is always darkest before the dawn.
hope my thoughts are of help,

hi,
if the question was,can i rely on cole to protect me,then the dream ,your inner wisdom is saying no,
but having said that, something deeper is at work here i feel,
a single wolf brings to mind ,Independence, being able to cope IE survive without help,
it may be the wolf being white has a spiritual connection,
the native Americans believed that a white animal wasn't just the animal, but a Representative of that entire species so had great power, more so than the plain animal,
this is why i feel that some deeper power is at work.
it is written that when animals turn against us in dreams,it is usually an aspect of our own inner workings, that is seeking recognition, because it has been ignored,
so i would look at it from this point of view, that something in you knows best, listen to it,
of course your dream could just be about trust, have you tried to befriend someone recently, with the traits of this wolf, did they not turn out to be as you thought,a wolf in sheep's clothing,?
just a few thoughts to get you thinking, hope they are of help.

Dream Interpretation / Re: My Cousin's Hand Amputated
« on: March 23, 2013, 12:45:52 PM »
hi,
we can do so many things with our hands,
the positive,
we  greet by shaking hands,we gesture, create, using them as tools, comfort, caress etc
negative,
we can hurt, damage, violate & of course steal things,
the fact that amputation has show up ,especially of the hand, suggests to me ,loss of one of the above positive abilities,
cutting off a hand was also a punishment in medieval times for theft, has anything been stolen ? ,
just my own thoughts.

Dream Interpretation / tony & i on top of a mountain.
« on: March 18, 2013, 01:08:55 PM »
hi tony,
i felt compelled to enter this dream as it contained you,& i believe it is related to your last comments on my ,dreams don't parrot what you already know post.
i feel that your comments & my meditation on them led to this dream,

i am on top of a mountain with tony crisp,i am in a sleeping bag as is tony,in the centre is a small fire,
tony says that he wants to show me a photo of something, that may help.
as he goes to get it from his rucksack,i am awe struck at the rising sun ,i fling my sleeping bag open to get out,but realise it is still a bit cold .so i snuggle bag in my bag,i am waiting for the earth to warm up.

a couple of nights before ,i watched a program on tv about the miracle of metamorphosis in nature,
the sleeping bags in the dream seemed to symbolise the chrysalis stage,

in response to your thoughts on my last post,i also came to feel that, what you may be saying is  ,not that nothing in this world matters, especially death ,but that it is all Maya, illusion,i believe the native Americans held a similar belief in that ,they saw the dream world as the real world, this world just being a reflection of it.
you have obviously had some experience or experiences throughout your life that have opened you up to this way of thinking,& yes you are right,it is difficult to explain to most ,
but i thank you for trying.

tony ,
thank you for your thoughts,
i agree that i must have lost connection with something,as to what that something is,i am not sure,
i hope further dreams will help clarify ,

i am a child looking through a crack in the fence,& i see the the one expressed in the many, but the many forget they are one.

Dream Interpretation / dreams do not parrot what you already know,!
« on: February 26, 2013, 10:09:22 AM »
hi tony,
i read the above phrase and have  small query,
if it is true that dreams do not parrot what we already know ,as what would be the point,i was wondering if you could help me understand this dream i had last night,
my own personal beliefs relating to this dream,
i am against the killing of anything for sport, around where i live are a lot of pheasant shoots,i see these guffawing ego maniacs on a daily basis this time of year,& my heart sinks at the thought of the pain & suffering about to be met upon the beautiful birds.that's my own opinion,i am not enlightened enough to be non judgemental about it.

the dream,
i am  watching beaters making noise etc to make birds fly up so they can be shot ,some birds are actually physically thrown over the bushes into the field where the guns are,i am appalled at this and realise i am not one of them,i am differant,i understand these people have lost connection with something, tears are rolling down my cheeks.
i awoke feeling this incredible compassion with this suffering of the birds,
but the dream highlights the feelings i am already aware of,
as stated i am not of this kind of group ,never have been,
if it is highlighting the fact ,that i have lost connection with something or that i need to find a connection, and has nothing to do with how i feel about shooting birds etc  i can understand that ,especially if as you have said yourself, dreams are  feelings and fears disguised,
would love to here your thoughts.

Dream Interpretation / Re: dream of a town from my past
« on: February 14, 2013, 12:23:39 PM »
hi,
i would see it as a metaphor ,,
it may be related to your present thoughts,in that, are you happy ?,
sometimes we all need to escape back to a time we felt happier,a return to the womb of sorts,
i see these sort of escapes back to the past,as not a retreat from present circumstances, but more a chance to come to terms with true feelings, this sort of comparison with a past experience can release true feelings with the present.
are you longing for something or even someone ,what is your present situation, are you denying yourself anything, these are questions that may bring out the reason for the nostalgia,
these are only my thoughts hope they are of some help,
