Last night I had an incredible dream... I was at a friends house whose giant window faced the ocean. She had a very small concrete wall infront of her window but the water never raised above it. We were watching the waves for quite some time.. I decided to sit on the bed she had a few feet back and I was watching her watch the waves crash. They suddenly started getting bigger and bigger and coming over her wall...then out of nowhere a massive wave started rising and rising and I screamed her name becuase I knew it was going to break through the glass and drown us. Suddenly the wave carshed through the window and everything went black..but I peacefully knew what was going to happen next. In my head I told myself I was going to die.. I suddenly felt (actually felt can recall the feeling) my whole body have this nervous reaction..similar to riding a roller coaster..as I was preparing to leave my body. I woke up but it felt so entirely real..not sure if it was an OBE or a lucid dream..I didnt have much control in my dream though..just curious as to any interpretations of what this could mean..very intense!

Jiana - Waves represent energy, but energy coming from the sea, which in turn represent our core self and what we are usually unconscious of.

Example: I quietly suggested that her whole body would drop unnecessary tensions, and emotional and mental stress would melt away. I went on to say that this would open all the doors of her being, allowing cleansing and healing throughout. There was no apparent response to this, so I lay quietly ready to sleep. But suddenly, about eight minutes later, Hyone woke, almost with a jerk, and said enthusiastically, “I just had the most amazing dream.”

In the dream Hyone had been with her mother and sisters in a garden at the back of a house. Hyone was lying in the sun relaxing. As she relaxed she felt a wave of energy flow up her body to her head. Then, wave after wave moved up her body, giving her tremendous pleasure and feelings of well-being. But the waves got stronger and stronger, and she was frightened they would overwhelm her, and at that point she woke.

I think that you too were meeting these waves of energy, but like Hyone you were frightened you would drown. Drowning suggests feeling overwhelmed. The feeling you were going to die is a common one - remember that dreams are symbolic images used in an attempt to portray something - so the image of dying is saying that you gave up your conscious will and allowed the life will/the unconscious to give you an important experience. As you said you didn’t have much control in the dream. See http://dreamhawk.com/body-and-mind/diving-into-the-depths-of-mind/ and http://dreamhawk.com/approaches-to-being/lifes-little-secrets/

It is such a huge subject and needs a lot of understanding, but the barriers you had previously used to stop knowing your own hugeness - had a very small concrete wall in front of her window but the water never rose above it - had been overcome. And experiencing death is an important part of your growth.

I don’t think you had an OBE or any other thing, because I know that your dream creator can create any experience it wishes to. Dying means you gave up your conscious control and so allowed your Hugeness to communicate with you.
