Title: Zombies, Flying, and Waves Oh My!
Post by: RB on December 19, 2012, 01:27:28 AM
So I was standing on the ledge of a building looking over toward a window (it was dark but I don't think it was night time) and I accidentally made a noise and saw something stick its head out so I got closer to see what it was and it was a zombie and it reached out and grabbed me and then I tried to push it off the ledge and it said "I will take you with me." but I was able to push it off without it taking me with me. Then somehow I got back to the corner I was hiding behind before and was looking at the window but the window and I were on street level. I saw someone else look outside and then walk out. I called the person over and I thought it was this Filipina girl I took a class with this year at first but realized I didn't know her. Then an older hispanic man who was like a police man or something came over and asked me what I was doing there. I responded that I wasn't even sure where I was. He responded and asked where I was from and I said "earth" and then asked how I got there and he said "you brought yourself here you have to get yourself back." Then this dream started.

Also in the same night that I was flying with my mom and some random guy I didn't know and for some reason thought maybe he was an exchange student. We were flying around waiting to land for a while and then when we landed we were on a beach. The student and I wanted to go look at the ocean on the beach but my mom said we did not have enough time until our next flight took off. Then all of the sudden down the beach there was a really large wave. My Mom and I were standing by a cliff. Another wave started to rise and then almost crashed on top of us. I grabbed my mom because I was thinking that she did not like to swim. Then I woke up. ???

RB – All the images of your dream are a way that our dreams deal with emotions and fears – they put our fears and emotions into pictures and actions. See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/what-we-need-to-remember-about-us/#Hurt and also http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/what-we-need-to-remember-about-us/#Virtual

So the zombie and the massive wave were images of your fears. You dealt with them quite well but the wave was something you escaped into waking. The wave is usually used when we feel enormous release of emotions such as might happen when we fall in love, have a baby, or are publicly condemned. At such times our ego often feels carried along by the experience rather than in control. We may have learned how to ride such waves as surfers do. This requires confidence, daring and balance. If we can do it we can open ourselves to much greater range of feeling or change than if we felt threatened. Even happiness may be repressed due to feeling threatened. Anxiety or depression is one of these enormous waves that may threaten to engulf us, and so is one of the human conditions the tidal wave represents. Yet if we face it and meet it can be an enormously transformative influence.

Try imagining yourself back in the dream and let the wave come at you and your mother. As you do this realise that your dream images are simply your feelings put into images, and that you have the ability to meet and ride such feelings. Reach out to that bigger self and take its hand.
