Title: Dreaming of snake upright my spine
Post by: Parisa on November 04, 2014, 01:49:18 PM
I had this dream passing a swimming pool with clear water. it is a sunny day and i can see the bottom of the swimming pool. It is full of alligators, snakes and other creatures. I shudder at the sight. The next scene of the dream it is one tiny snakes is standing absolutely right behind my back under my shirt.
I do not see what kind of snake it is, or the color of it, but just feel that it is a long and tiny one. It is standing absolutely straight and upright rising up behind my back with its head next to my head.
I try to take my hand behind my shirt to get it out, without luck.
It is the feeling of anxiety which I remember well from having the snake upright along my spine. In my attempt to pull it out, it bites me in the hand. I am bloated in hand (think it's left hand, but not sure) and it does insane pain. I Wake of the entire hand has fallen asleep. Appreciate if I could get some external look and assistance to get on with the interpretation of it. thanks and greeting from Parisa

Paris - I suppose you realise that in terms of evolution you are an animal that has only recently attained a small level of self awareness. It has been said that our awareness is like a small spot of light on a large globe. The small spot is our waking awareness, the rest of us/the globe is a huge part of us we are unaware of.

Now the unaware or unconscious part of us needs to keep in touch with us otherwise we would die; it does it by our dreams. And dreams are a way it uses our everyday images that we have experience of as a form of language. But of course it is all symbols and often we respond to the image not as if it were a communication but as a real thing - like a snake which we are frightened of. See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/questions-2/#Summing

The first part of your dream is very clear - but it is all in symbols. The green snake represents your biological energy, the energy that gives you consciousness, emotions, sexual feelings and ability to move. It is green because it represent your power of growth and it shows you have achieved a lot. Growth is of course growth of what you are aware of. Think of the huge globe that is still in the darkness of your mind. Becoming aware of more of you is often felt as a shock and scary. See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-dictionary/what-we-need-to-remember-about-us-3/#Reaction

So you, like many people in today's world are becoming more aware of who they are. The clear pool with all the scary creatures in is your own mind beginning to see where it evolved from. But in fact they are only scary because you have been educated that you should be frightened of them. See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/brain-levels-and-dreams/

The world of dreams is totally different to the world of waking. But the second part of your dream is a mixture of your fear creating awful images, and the feeling of your hand having no circulation, so you are woken up because it would be dangerous if your hand carried on with no blood flow.
