Title: Alien Invasion
Post by: Kecia on January 24, 2016, 06:36:50 PM
Hi Tony.  It's been a long while since visiting the site, but I had a dream I felt was perfect for your talents in reading.  To preface, I have raised and enjoyed chickens for about 25 years.  My current dog companion is black and white and named Zoe, and she's by my side 24 hours a day. The black Lab was my dear Hannah who died of cancer about 5 years ago.  I still miss her. The farm property in the dream was my childhood home.    Here's the dream:

An invasion of Earth by aliens….I have to save our animals.  I don’t know where I’m going, only know I want to gather up my chickens and dogs, but I can’t carry them all.  My heart is breaking because I have to leave some of them behind.  I am flying over the farm property.  I scoop up my most beloved, my dog Zoe.   Despite her being too large, I fly with her cradled in my arms.  I keep looking back at my hens and my black Labrador, grieving the loss.

Thank you.

Kecia – You appeared to be trying to avoid or escape from an ill-defined threat or anxiety. Aliens often represent a powerful experience that is new and therefore frightening. The aliens also threatened the end of the world you know – so a big threat.

In an attempt to avoid this big and powerful experience you gather up the precious and loved things that probably gave meaning and support to you and also things you gave a lot of caring attention to.

The end of the world you knew and the fears that go with it, depict the powerful and threatening inner and outer changes that accompany major transitions. The transition from childhood to adolescence for instance is the end of the world that existed for the whole lifetime of the individual up until that point. Feeling you are alone in the world all point to such points of transition that occur several times in the life of anyone who dares to grow and adapt. Menopause for women, the leaving home of children, the loss of a job, retirement, can all be represented by the end of the world - or a world.

So inward and exterior changes can produce the feeling or dream of our world ending. This can usually be met and passed through, although it does require a sort of death, a letting go of old traits and responses built in connection with the old way of life. This can produce anxiety. A new personality, one suited to present needs or situation can gradually emerge - be born - if we can pass through the anxiety and meet the experiences of the new world we are living in.

Thank you, Tony.  I think I've been transitioning for forever, but as in the dream, I have nowhere to go.  There's nowhere to go.

Kecia – I felt as if I were in transition most of my life, I had a lot of ground to cover/plough.

I don’t know if you are acquainted with The Ox Herding Pictures - http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/integration-meeting-oneself/#Ox
