Title: Passing on The Purple Outfit
Post by: Christine on September 18, 2011, 02:35:05 AM
I enter a bathroom stall.  A woman hangs an outfit outside the stall...it is a beautiful eggplant. dress...short sleeved, high neck...narrow ruffles on the ende of the sleeves and neck.  Elegant.  Underneath is a white shift with skinny straps.  The woman tries to hand me a purple composition book.  In real life I use black composition books to journal, but recently bought some purple ones.

I tell the woman...I can't wear that...the outfit seems to be for a thin person and in real life I am not thin. I come out of the stall wearing a sickly green halter top bathing suit under a large plain brown sweater, and a wide brown and bubble gum pink striped skirt.  Not attractive at all.

I have several thoughts about this dream...it could be about my weight, or following the law...or not following the law which is more like me...with the bathroom stall being a place to expel waste....or this might be about expressing myself.

The colors of the sweater and skirt might relate to depression around being female.

I was married and a mother, now divorced and my son lives with his father and stepmother.  I was not happy being a wife and mother... have not told anyone that...yet I have not given myself permission to be happy not being in those roles.  Lots of religious guilt and regrets about not being able to meet those societal expectations when lots of other people do.

Christine – First of all thank you for being an active part of the Forum. It feels good to me.

Also I feel similar about not being able to fulfil other people’s expectations of one. I rebelled early and so got kicked out of school at 15. But being older than you – I presume – I got really hung up on guilt. It wasn’t that I went to church, but in the 30’s and 40’s it was everywhere. And I see guilt was a way that those in positions of power controlled people.

I left my children too and suffered agonizing guilt for years until one day I tasted real freedom. All came from a dream.

But Christine, this is your dream life we are talking about now. You can be any shape you like in your dreams. In fact if you can allow yourself to be free to wear something beautiful the way you feel about yourself changes. It isn’t that we have to make a big effort to be good, I realised many years ago that growth happens naturally, and if we allow it the goodness shines out by itself.

And all that waste you talk about is all the rubbish you believe about yourself. Please look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYYXq1Ox4sk

Christine - I realised that I didn't give you something that I want to pass onto you if you can use it. It is a dream I had.

In  the dream I was floating on the very tender tips of a tree in a sort of effortless levitation. The tree was about 30 feet high and was standing in what looked like walkways near a shopping mall. One walkway was rising so it came to about quarter way up the tree. A few people gathered to look at me and wonder how it was possible for me to maintain my position. At first they thought it must be a publicity stunt and were wondering where the cameras were. But as nothing happened in that way it led them to question further. Suddenly one of the people watching – I think it was a woman – suddenly realised it was not a trick or to do with publicity. She realised that this meant it was possible for a human being to do this, and was immediately floating beside me. Shortly after that another person was with us, floating effortlessly. Then there were several more, until there were about six of us in a circle at the tree tip. We reached out to each other and held hands, then we lifted upwards, climbing to an enormous height, leaving a trail of smoke behind us as a sign for people to see from miles away.

The thing about the dream is that it says what I was saying, that there is no need to be good, to meditate in a special way, or to do wonderful things. All that is needed is to realise that it is possible to be free of all that holds one back. I know it is possible, although only a few could manage to be together in that wonderful state.

A woman who has sought to be free of awful worries and watched me go through my stroke as a close witness, phoned me two days ago to tell me she has reached the peace. You could fly up with the rest of us. There is plenty of room.

Christine, I hope you don't mind me posting on your thread - I was drawn to it tonight!

The Colour Purple! The most costly and beautiful fabric in ancient times. That woman seems to be telling you 'you are worth it' (oh the cliche of the L'Oreal adverts!) but you weren't ready to believe it and took the option of being unattractive. Also, Purple and the higher self - 2nd chakra (3rd eye) being purple and connection to the divine..........maybe the divine is inviting you to relationship and not the one of guilt and dogma......

My tuppence halfpenny.......may have no relevance at all x
