Questions about dreams / This was not a dream, but what was it?
« on: November 10, 2014, 11:53:20 AM »
This is very strange and I will try to keep it short but if it runs a little long please forgive me for that.

I have known this man for a few years and for a while I did like him pretty well. I soon learned that he may not be a very good person and has a personal history of violence and I have seen many examples of how he lies a lot and manipulates people and he is not always easy to get along with. Despite consistent rejection on my part he still maintains that he wants some kind of relationship with me and even goes so far to say that he thinks I am his "other half" and that he loves me. I don't trust him and have explained why I don't want to be with him, but he still tries.

I have had many dreams about him, although they don't usually reveal anything that I didn't already know. Then this happened a few months ago and it has bothered me greatly ever since. I was taking a nap and I had been dreaming prior to being awakened, the dream was nothing out of the ordinary and didn't appear to be significant, but I was woken up by another person who is a witness to the fact that I was definitely awake, I had a short conversation, remember everything, checked my cell phone, several things that prove I was totally awake. About 5 or 6 minutes go by and I decide I might try to lay down and go back to sleep. I was still sitting up in bed and was just starting to lean back when I saw a black and white scene where I was being dragged through the woods, I looked to see who was dragging me and it was this man and when I looked at his face his eyes were completely black, even the white parts, and he had the most hateful and angry expression that I could ever imagine. Then it just stopped. While that was happening I felt physically stunned, like something rushed at me and hit me, it was very intense and I could only focus on what was I was seeing, as if everything else around me froze and faded away for that time. This frightened me so much that I was not able, and actually no longer wished, to try and go back to sleep.

There was no alcohol or drugs involved, no prescription or even over the counter medication, nothing. No reasonable explanation at all. I am certain that I was completely awake, I have been paying attention to and researching my own dreams and sleeping habits for nearly 15 years, I am definitely not an expert on the subject but I trust myself enough to know I was not sleeping while this happened. I emphasize that because many people have tried to tell me that I was not completely awake, but I was.

I know very little about psychic phenomena. My only personal experience being a few dreams in my entire lifetime that ended up relating to real life later on, and those did not predict anything extraordinary. For example once I dreamed that my estranged brother (who I never dream about and had not even consciously thought about at the time) came to visit and then two weeks later he did in fact show up at my door with no prior warning, that was interesting but certainly not like predicting danger or anything. And then a long time ago I felt that stunned feeling as I was reaching for the door handle of a car, it was so strong it made me stop and I just had a very bad gut feeling, we ended up wrecking pretty badly on that trip.

Obviously this was a warning, and I don't take it lightly regardless of how it happened. I just really wish I could understand it better and I have not been able to find any information at all. I asked this question on a psychic forum and no one really knew, one guy said that he does not get any physical feelings, he just somehow knows for no apparent reason, but there is no big rush of feeling stunned. And that seems consistent with what I read about psychic happenings, they just know somehow and nothing more. So I have no idea at all what to make of this but it is nagging at me and I don't think that will stop until I understand. I have been reading Tony's work for many years and I highly respect him and his writings, this is my first time posting in the forums here, I am just hoping someone can recognize what this was.
