Dream Interpretation / woodpecker
« on: September 16, 2017, 12:44:12 PM »
Had a dream one of my son's friends had psychic abilities.  He used them to tell me there were woodpeckers on the back of the house we were at.  I went out back and he was there, and there were 3 woodpeckers on the house and three holes in the cedar siding.  He was wearing tools (I am a carpenter) and I reached for his tape measure.  He threw it, and said he did not want anyone to bother the woodpeckers.  I went and got the tape measure and poked it at one of them to try to get him to fly away.  It dove at me as if to attack me and then I woke up.
It is perhaps of note that I own a rental property with cedar siding, and we have had problems in the past with woodpeckers.  I am inclined to think that there may be something to address over there physically, but at the same time left the dream with the feeling that there was more to it than that.  My son's friend is only 11 years old and does not work with me in waking life.  I have also felt that he was a kindred spirit to me since the first time I met him, I find I enjoy being around him and we have many of the same interests even though I'm 30 years older than him.  I have never dreamed about him before.

Dream Interpretation / Keeping up appearances?
« on: September 01, 2017, 05:24:36 PM »
I have had a couple of dreams this week that I think are touching upon the same thing, though I am not sure what it is.
In the first dream, my wife was cutting the lawn, but the mower had stalled.  She asked for my help, and I was unable to get it started again despite various attempts and adjusting the carburetor.
In the second dream, which I had last night, I was moving into a college dorm with an old friend of mine.  We needed to build a landing on the inside of the dorm room and we were at a lumber supply store getting what materials we needed.  Twice during this process, I stopped to brush my teeth.  The toothpaste was very foamy and thick, and when I tried to spit it was so sticky I could not get it out of my mouth.  When I woke I was not afraid nor did I have any overwhelming emotion associated with either dream.  Perhaps just a bit of confusion.
Both lawn mowing and teeth brushing seem to be about keeping up appearances to me, but there is some strange twist in both dreams that I am not grasping.
It may also be worth noting that I do carpentry work for a living.
Thanks

Dream Interpretation / Re: holding a baby - relief from sciatic pain
« on: August 05, 2017, 11:09:44 AM »
Hey Tony!
thanks so much for your input.  I am going to give the B vitamin thing a try.  I always try to watch my diet pretty closely but it's certainly worth a shot.
Soon as I get a few quiet moments (sans screaming children) I will try to become that little girl.  Thanks again.

Dream Interpretation / holding a baby - relief from sciatic pain
« on: August 01, 2017, 11:10:09 AM »
I was holding a baby, a girl, wrapped in a blanket.  I was in a facility where they were organizing some kind of fight sport (I have some personal history involved in this).  I was discussing with someone about how to enter the competition, he explained to me that he already had a team, and I realized that I had little to no experience with the martial art that was involved.  I saw an old friend-I had the urge to play a practical joke on him, at that moment someone else did it for me.  I said to him "I wanted to do that but I hadn't seen you in so long I wasn't sure it was appropriate".  Then someone came up behind me and pulled a hat over my head and eyes so I couldn't see.  I turned and saw it was an old friend of mine.  I was very unappreciative of the joke and I said, "You see I'm holding a baby?!?!"  I walked away.  The baby started crying-I opened the blanket and noticed something gross and gooey coming from it's vagina.  I noticed there were several worms inside the blanket, presumably had come out of the baby.  My wife was there and we went outside together-she started plucking them out of the blanket, but it was like they were still attached.  I was freaking out, I said to her "Are you crazy?"  At that moment one of them came loose with a snap.  As it did something splashed in my eye.  I woke up with fear surging through my body.
I also had a dream about a month ago where there were worms on the floorboard of my truck and I was the one plucking them out.  There was still fear involved but not like the above dream.

I guess there are a few things worth pointing out that I have noticed.  The first is that the baby is a female, and I think this is pointing to the feminine side of myself that needs attention.  It is not the first time I have been pointed this direction.  I also noticed as I was writing this that immediately after I wanted to play a practical joke on an old friend, I had one played on me and I was not appreciative of it.
Do you think these dreams are indicative of a physical problem?  Worth a trip to the doctor?  I have been struggling with sciatic nerve pain recently of which it is not the first time in my life.  Anyhow, any input you have is greatly appreciated.  Thanks

Dream Interpretation / raw chicken
« on: September 05, 2016, 05:33:24 PM »
Tony,
I was with a friend and we were selling raw chicken breasts to a man.  As we unwrapped them-he wanted to see the quality of them first-I took one and started eating it.  He began to exclaim to me, "you're not supposed to eat that raw!  It says it on the instructions!"  I pretty much told him I was unconcerned and then he forced my mouth open and pulled what was left out of my mouth.
I then woke to stomach pain-like I had eaten something bad, and slept very restlessly the rest of the night. Now, I have had many dreams that I'm certain were guiding me as far as what to eat-this one seems to be in the same category except that I am a vegetarian, in fact I'm sure I've never eaten raw chicken in my life.  I do eat eggs, occasionally raw, but I have not done that in weeks.
I don't know if this dream is as simple as a manifestation by my subconscious from the fact that I was physically ill.  Wanted to get your thoughts.

One other item that may be of note-I have 3 children, they dubbed me the nickname "chicken" many years ago for no reason whatsoever.

Dream Interpretation / Re: Poison and salt, dog love, death
« on: September 05, 2016, 05:24:54 PM »
Duckle, this-
The outcome as far as I understand it, is that you are slowly making yourself ill by the poisonous inner feelings you hold within you.
I think this is true in both your inner life and outer life, and to me it seems the dream, and your feeling of helplessness in your waking life are all a reflection of the situation with your father, which is why he is the one to give you the pills.  You are now in what you feel is a similar situation with the dogs, and it is terrifying you.

I am going to take this another step further because I think I can help you.  I have been in a similar situation where I thought I was going to have to be in constant pain for the rest of my life.  I was told by doctors that it was likely this would be the case, surgery was about a 50 50 chance.  By the course of luck and a careful assessment of my own symptoms I stumbled across a man named Dr. John Sarno.  Here is a clip of him on 20/20 from years ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsR4wydiIBI
This clip and his books were the beginning of me embarking on a spiritual journey that helped me dramatically.  I'm not always pain free, but now I know the cause of it, and I know how to manage it.  Considering the circumstances with your father, and when and how the pain first struck you, you are certainly a candidate for this diagnosis. My intent is not to come across as arrogant, only to help you.  I believe the emotional trauma you endured in the situation with your father is the cause of your problem.  Do not mis-understand and think I'm saying you are making the pain up.  It is real, I know it is real.  It's just that the cause is not a physical one, it is an emotional one.  You have to figure out a way to face the trauma you endured as a result of the ordeal with your father.  It is literally stuck in your nervous system.

Do not sell yourself short.  Human bodies are incredible feats of nature, and you have the ability to heal.  It is ok to accept that you are in pain now, and that movement is limited, but do not accept that it always has to be this way based on what doctors tell you.  You can heal.  Everyone can.  Here is some inspiration for you.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qX9FSZJu448
Please watch these videos and consider them.  I will be thinking of you.

Dream Interpretation / eagle
« on: August 27, 2016, 02:29:43 PM »
Dreamt that a friend of mine and myself were being held captive by an evil queen.  She told us she was sending an eagle to kill us, but if were were able to kill the eagle instead, she would spare our lives.  The eagle came, but was actually more of an angel.  She was a beautiful woman, with a complete human body and then also large wings that enabled her to fly in.  She clearly meant us harm, she had a sword in each hand as well as many knives holstered on her.  She attacked us but we were able to subdue and disarm her.  I frisked her for weapons and found various knives hidden on her person.  I remember thinking how beautiful she was.  I decided that I did not want to kill her, and that the queen would probably be more impressed if we were able to detain her and bring her before the queen alive.  That is what we decided to do, but the dream ended there.

Dream Interpretation / Re: Lion's Den
« on: May 31, 2016, 01:36:25 AM »
Thanks Tony. Was a very elaborate dream.  Your input helps a great deal.  I think the dream was in response to a particular emotional behavior that I struggle with, I had managed to not get out of control the night before but I teetered on the edge for sure.
Not sure what to make of the gun with a single shot silver bullet.  Any thoughts on that?

Dream Interpretation / Lion's Den
« on: May 27, 2016, 10:13:00 AM »
Well I am up about an hour early this morning, but I just awoke from a very vivid and interesting dream, and wanted to share and see your thoughts.
I was placed in charge of a lion exhibit.  There were roughly 10 lions. The den was largely surrounded by glass, so people could see in.  May have been a zoo but that was not said.  There was an old woman caretaker and she explained the ropes to me.  I was to be responsible for feeding the lions, and interestingly enough, we fed them grains that basically had to be hand fed to them.  There were others there to help.  She explained to me in detail the process-wait until they are all hungry.  She had a system for monitoring the hunger level of each lion.  Enter one by one, and do not make too many quick or hurried movements because it could startle them and they could attack.  Approach each lion individually and sprinkle a handful of grains in front of it to eat.  After this was completed and they were all eating it was safe to leave again.  She explained to me in secret that she kept a .40 caliber with a single silver bullet in it for emergencies.  She said if a lion attacked someone to get it and not be afraid to use it.  The only trouble was it was only a single shot, so if multiple lions were attacking I would have to reload between shots.
We fed the lions and all went well.
The following day we went back, I brought an interested friend with me, an old roommate of mine.  I explained to him the procedure and we went in.  When feeding his first lion he was careless and kind of threw the grain at it.  It showed teeth and nipped at his hand, although he barely seemed to notice.  Then another started showing teeth.  I had given him instructions on where to meet me once the lions were eating and we would go out together.  I was waiting in this location after I did my feeding, and he approached me.  I noticed that the lions were following him and that I had picked a poor location to meet, as we were down in a valley and up against the glass wall.  We were cornered and going to be their lunch.  For a brief moment I was accepting of my fate and I thought, "wow I can't believe I'm going to die being eaten by lions".  There was never any intense fear involved anywhere in this dream.  He was still oblivious to the danger.  I quickly moved to a door in the glass wall, and while it was only a last ditch effort as I assumed the door would be locked, it turned out to be open.  We escaped with one lion pushed right up against the glass.  I explained to him where he screwed up and what he needed to do next time.
The old care taker woman showed up, and I explained everything that happened.  She said we were extremely lucky.  I told her that I was still willing to do the job, but from now on I would be more serious and detailed when explaining the instructions.

Dream Interpretation / Re: white gold
« on: September 20, 2015, 01:53:49 AM »
Thanks for the response!
I think that in my life I have used my sexual energy in a way that was not always healthy, and that to some degree I am still battling with it.  That is what I think the stag mainly represents.
I also think that I have not embraced the feminine side of my nature yet.  I grew up with one brother, in a household where it was important to be tough both physically and mentally, played only contact sports, and now I work a construction job with only men.  I'm not really sure what my feminine side entails, as I have not had access to it in my inner life and I guess my outer life reflects that.  Perhaps the stag refers to an unceasing need to prove my masculinity to both myself and others that I need to let go of.
Any thoughts you may have?

Dream Interpretation / white gold
« on: September 18, 2015, 11:16:46 AM »
Here is a great dream that I had last night.
I was with a friend of mine, we had moved into a dangerous part of the forest, we were trying to clear it out and make it habitable.  There were several animals there, squirrels and fox mostly.  I was shooting rocks at them with a sling shot to get them to leave, some left, some lingered.  Out of nowhere a giant stag charged me, I grabbed him by the horns and we wrestled a bit, hit bit my arm and his teeth were very sharp.  I managed to throw him off of me and he ran off.  I had the feeling he would be back again though.  Then I heard a voice say, "It is an ancient Chinese secret that somewhere in this section of the woods there is an area of pure white gold under the surface.  It is one square meter thick."
To me the forest is the more difficult aspects of my personality that I deal with, probably each animal with its own personality trait.  But it seems my main enemy is the stag, who no doubt represents sex drive, or at least masculinity.  It would seem if I can continue to fight him off and can occupy this area of my personality I may find the gold.

Dream Interpretation / Bird Attack
« on: March 31, 2015, 11:44:03 AM »
I was in the back yard of my home, although this backyard did not match that of my waking life.  I had four chickens (I also have chickens in my waking life) and they had laid eggs, some of which where hatching.  There were eggs in various locations, and there were also many new born chicks wandering about.  Then I noticed that there were predators around.  There were larger birds who were stealing and eating both eggs and chicks, and there were also weasel looking creatures, though smaller.  I was able to catch and kill some of these, and one of the large birds also.  I was trying to save the eggs and the chicks.  This whole area was contained by a fence but the birds would fly over and the weasels could crawl under.  I was able to save some of the eggs and chicks, but some were also eaten.  It appeared that I successfully chased off the predators, though I awoke before I was certain of that.

Dream Interpretation / Re: Bat
« on: March 31, 2015, 11:39:24 AM »
Thanks guys,
this one is still confusing to me as I have never dreamed of a bat before, and frankly I'm not really sure what it means to me.  I tend to like them because the eat insects in the outer world, so it was odd that I was afraid of it in the dream.  I will work with it some.
