Dream Interpretation / Recurring dream of guides
« on: June 18, 2012, 12:58:02 AM »
I've had a recurring dream where I see in the air above my bed a half-circle of about 5-6 people facing me, holding a huge book and turning the pages so I can read what is written on each page.  They are turning these enormous pages very quickly actually, yet I am able to read each page completely.  I am not surprised or uncomfortable - in the dream it all seems quite natural.

I'd appreciate any comments or insights.

Thank you

I am outside somewhere and I see a big silver UFO quite close.  It is the traditional saucer shape, at least at first.  I feel a little thrill and think "that's the first time I've ever seen one".  I hold up my hands towards it and try to get it to come closer to me.
Then it starts changing shapes very quickly - maybe running through a dozen or more different shapes very quickly.
I watch it closely.
Finally to my disappointment I see a US military emblem on one of the shapes.  I really am quite disappointed.

Then I am in some public rooms where I see a guy happily munching on 5 cheeseburgers.  I tell him that those just have to be very unhealthy for him.  He mumbles that he is not even sure if he can finish all of them.

In walking into this dream when awake, I have the following feelings:
The UFO feels like my "higher" potentials.  The changing shapes emphasize the different aspects of this.
I hold out my hands because I want closer contact.
The sudden and disappointing perception of a US military emblem indicates that I am already familiar to an extent with these higher potentials.
The guy with the cheeseburgers represents my lower, limiting habits which I realize are not so healthy for me, in terms of my higher potentials.

I also feel that there is more happening here - so any comments would be appreciated!

I'm in a car sitting in the passenger seat; the driver is some guy who is a little older than me.  We are traveling at unbelievable speeds - seems like around 500-600 miles an hour.  Everything outside is just a continuous blur of light.  This driver is truly a mad hot-rodder, but he is totally in control.

I am completely at ease.  We rocket along and come to a rise in the road with a long curve to the right.  At some point in the curve near the top of the rise there is a woman standing on the right side of the road.  The driver slows down a little, then speeds up again and passes her.
We approach a town.  There are some other drivers who are hanging out at one point on the main street - when they see this crazy driver approaching they all quickly move out of the way almost as if they are familiar with him and know that they need to get out of his way quickly whenever he arrives.

The driver throws the car into a long and masterful broadside and brings it to a dramatic stop right where the other drivers were gathered.  I have the feeling that this truly amazing and "otherworldly" driver has done this many times before.

I know this dream seems kind of dramatic.  I just can't figure out what that woman is doing standing at the top of the rise, and why the driver slows down and then passes her by, almost as if there is an acknowledgment of her but not a communication .  . .  Also, I do not have a clear image of the who the crazed driver is, but I feel as if I know him.  The incredible rate of speed is also interesting - why so pronounced?

Any comments would be appreciated!

Dream Interpretation / Flying around and pestering some people
« on: April 10, 2012, 09:36:57 PM »
Here's a very short but quite vivid dream I just had - any comments would be appreciated!

I am flying around being an nuisance to some other people who are not flying.  Not really obnoxious, but being kind of a pest.
Suddenly one of them in a super fast motion points their finger at my throat.  There is too much power in this and I cannot overcome this force.
This is not an unfriendly act but rather some kind of a direct message I am being given.

I feel that the powerful finger pointing at my throat may have to do with my outer expression of inner values which I need to take more seriously, but I don't yet understand why before that I am flying around being a pest . . .

Dream Interpretation / Flying in my dream
« on: April 07, 2012, 02:08:33 AM »
I have a lot of dreams where I'm flying around in different places - I'd appreciate any comments/insights on this one -

I'm walking down a very gradual set of stairs on a very long hill.  To my left there is a narrow strip that is not stairs but more like a very thin road or pathway going downhill that is good for bicycles maybe.  To my right I see an entrance and a pathway into a courtyard with a building at the end of the courtyard on the right.  I think of maybe going in there but then I see that there are some people coming out of this place and so I decide not to do it.
Then I step to my left onto the narrow road and start moving very fast down this long gradual road.  Then I am flying effortlessly at a high altitude.  Not too high but maybe about 40 feet to 60 feet off the ground.  I continue down the hill and turn right onto a short but busy city street.  Then I turn again and am in a series of very busy city streets. I am just effortlessly flying along. For some reason many people start noticing me.  In fact it seems as if everybody is noticing me.  I make sure to keep good altitude.  There are a few extremely tall people who are much taller than most who try to reach up and touch me but I am too high for them.  The streets are very crowded with people.  I cannot tell what city or country.

After reading some of Tony's material on this  site, I feel that the building in the courtyard and also the crowded streets are perhaps aspects of myself that I am in some capacity flying over.  But I don't understand whether this means I am seeking to avoid, or alternatively if I'm expressing a deeper more inclusive part of myself by flying over these parts of myself.  And what's the meaning of the bicycle path?  And why all the right turns and  the few really tall people?

Thank you!

Dream Interpretation / A dream of a Kriya yoga master
« on: March 22, 2012, 07:26:42 PM »
Here's a short dream I had a little while ago that I would appreciate any insights into -

I receive two books covered plain brown wrapping paper.  Upon opening the first one I see that it has some kind of transparent cover, in that I can see all the way through the entire book.

I open the front cover of this  book and can see through all the pages to the back, where there is a the visage of Sri Yukteswar, a great Kriya yogi, looking at me.

As a reference,  I practice Kriya meditation daily,  and have done Hatha for many years.  I am familiar with who Yukteswar is, but this is the first time I've dreamed of him.

Thank you!

Greetings / Hello from California
« on: March 22, 2012, 07:16:16 PM »
Just wanted to say hello, and to mention to Tony  that I have had your Dream Dictionary book for many years, and have always found it to be so useful.  Using this book helped inspire me to start a dream journal which has become a mainstay in my life.

I am deeply interested in Lucid Dreaming as a way of exploring and understanding the dimensions of Self and All-That-Is.
