Dream Interpretation / Re: The Vast Ocean Before Me
« on: March 21, 2017, 03:12:08 PM »
I will have to think about the answer to your question.

Last night I dreamt I was looking at a black eye, the left one, of a black horse.  Logically, I would guess that I would see my face in the reflection.

Dream Interpretation / The Vast Ocean Before Me
« on: March 19, 2017, 06:21:45 PM »
At the beginning of last nights dream my own voice said to me "And who is choosing this?."  I answered out loud in my dream  "I am choosing this for myself."

I find myself in an isolation room.  The windows are glass.  There are light colored male and female figures trying to get my attention and trying to get in my room.  One large male beats his head against the glass above me...the glass shatters in that one spot.  The figures turn black and I reach my hands up through the broken glass and I am choking him.

Next I am in what first looks like a public ring...like a gladiator arena...there are black figures physically attacking me...much taller and larger than me...but shapeless...I deliberately fight each one...one by one...I do not see if I have killed each one...but each disappears from my view.  After they have been defeated...I take a breath and look around.  I seem to be inside The Wall surrounding the northern border of the Seven Kingdoms, as in The Game of Thrones.  The gate opens and I do not feel afraid.

Next I am high above the sparkling dark blue ocean...the waves folding towards me.  It is magnificent.  Then an unseen or invisible hand shows me that the picture is like the inside of an open book with its spine flat...the two pages open from the inside, near the spine, and start to peel back (which will eventually open to 4 pages)...revealing the hint of black underneath.

I just think this is a marvelous dream and thought I would share!

In my real life, I have been fighting the lower self of others...so I do not succumb along with them.  The Wall is guarding my (real) or highest Self.

"Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come."

Dream Interpretation / Re: Meaning of multiple dreams
« on: March 14, 2017, 02:07:34 PM »
I think it was a positive step for you to stop sharing your dreams with your wife. Having said that, dreams can be initiated by major life changes.  The fact that you are dreaming more now that you have a son and a family is to be expected.  I would try not to get so hung up on the details of the dream.  In general, having a family, you have more to lose, so to speak, and more to protect.  It is a huge responsibility and it is normal to have anxiety or fears in your situation.  That is all the dream is about...fear that something will happen that you cannot control. So, how will you respond to yourself in your waking life?

I look at your dream as if it is a replay, on a different level, of what just happened in your life.  However, the dream might give you a different perspective on the situation.

Many people come into our lives during a lifetime.  Knowing ourselves and having the skill of observation and intuition about others, we often have a sense as to whether someone will be temporary or permanent.  With the temporary ones, sometimes there is the question of who will end it or exit first...sometimes who will be the "bad" guy.  Even though it is better for each person for the friendship to run its course, endings are rarely equally unpleasant for both.  Each person can be likely to feel they are the more injured party in the friendship and in the ending.

So, the captain might be a part of you that knew what might happen and let it to save your Self.  That is what you do to live your own truth and love your Self.  However, on a ship the captain is not 100 percent in control despite his 110% effort.  The weather, the crew, engine explosions...you never know what could happen on a day to day basis.  In the dream, the captain got burned in the friendship...it got to a point where you no longer had any control or choices.  Your friend cut you off.

Sometimes men do not know how to relate to strong women and so they try to dominate them, like a boss or captain in the relationship.  I do not tolerate that myself and for some men who have cut me off they had to kill the friendship to feel good about them being male.  Their disrespect in the ending comes out of their own insecurity.  That is just my opinion of course.  It is possible he was trying to "captain" you and the relationship.

So, you might possibly feel guilty for not being more upset about the ending or as upset as him.  You might feel guilty for not having ended it yourself sooner.  You might be angry with him for exercising his control "over you" for ending it.

We cannot control who comes in to our lives.  When someone comes to the door, of your Self or your life, even online, you can learn how to ask the right questions to find out who is there and decide whether or not you want to let them in or lock them out.

You are fine and so is he.

The times I have felt intense grief in my life were somewhat fearful.  I had felt like I had completely "lost my head."  I was consciously trying not to cry as I was afraid I would not be able to stop.  I had to give myself permission to let my emotions take over...knowing it was just something I needed to go through.  Once I cried and grieved, I felt a little better and put my head back on.  Of course, grief and mourning have their own timeline and I went through that many times for just one person or one loss.

The dream is telling you that you will be fine if you give yourself permission to grieve when that feeling comes up.

What a wonderful dream!  I am thinking the man in the dream is the masculine part of you...some call it the animus.  Given your own journey through depression and anxiety, the going back to get papers might be about retrieving your own story, celebrating it and using it to help others.  It is a way of honoring yourself and others at the same time.  At some point in your career, you may help others retrieve their own story as well.

"The fish can therefore depict something arising from within us that could be nourishing or threatening, depending on ones dream. For instance a person might allow feelings from within to emerge that had been held back. As the feelings flow a new sense of self might emerge, and be depicted as a fish."

The beginning part of the dream I feel is about you or some aspect of you evolving.  Water usually represents feelings and sometimes unconscious feelings in particular.  So maybe you are coming out of a period of being primarily in a feeling state.  Dogs can be playful or aggressive...sometimes it is hard to tell which one they are being.  They also can be a little more challenging to control.  I myself have a fear of dogs and much prefer cats.  So I am thinking the beginning part of the dream might tie in with the end.  People might feel vulnerable when they are naked and that might bring up some feelings and fears in you.  So, how do you protect yourself with other people?

The dream and your writing gives me the sense that in order to have what you desire, you need to protect yourself and it while you are cultivating it.

This may be as simple as protecting yourself from distractions, including other people.  Learning to say "you will have to find someone else" for example.

I may be wrong...that is just my impression.

I have had a lot of dreams about stores, so I thought I would share my thoughts about your dream.  Usually a store is where you go to pick out what you want and pay for it.

So, thinking about the interaction with your boyfriend...I am wondering if you recently gave up something you wanted for yourself?  It might not be a material possession.  It might be your creativity, your voice, an intangible value like your independence.

The fact that your boyfriends Dad followed you both to the store...and they being father and son...makes me think some attitude toward women might be shared by them...in their blood.

I would think about the first part of the dream as if it happened in real life and ask yourself...what would make you walk out of the store without picking out and buying what you wanted?  You might watch your own feelings thoughts and behavior the next time you are with him and you want something different than he does.  Watch his behavior too.  This is not about someone doing something wrong...this is about you paying attention.

The reddish brown colored worm...makes me think of a blood color..maybe angry red...little penis...male aggression or even just the fear of it...getting under your skin.  The inner thigh is very sensitive...at least mine is...ticklish.  It is also kind of a "hidden area."

I would not worry too much about killing yourself in the dream...you can also resurrect yourself in a dream too.

I had a similar childhood, depression and anxiety for a long time.  The dream is telling you, you are strong.  You are strong enough to observe your Self and help your Self get what it wants.

Dream Interpretation / Re: New York, New York

Mokey,

The first part of the dream...the second paragraph...seems to be about how you deal with frustration and disappointment.

In analyzing my own dreams, I find it helpful to say "I see myself..." and then describe how you see yourself behaving.

So, as you described in your writing, I see you feeling unclear, frustrated and disappointed with D's behavior, yet choosing not to respond.  When he calls you out, for the same behavior, your dark man, possibly feeling defensive and angry for having tolerated the same behavior from D in the past, surfaces.  The woman, who represents the feminine or feeling part in you, wants fast food or quick nourishment.  That would be ending the relationship.  KFC might be "chickening" out.

This part of your dream might be showing you a pattern you are not aware of that you repeat or a recent choice you may have made.  It is showing you that there may be another or other options.

That is my interpretation, but you know yourself better than I do, so you may have a different view.

Dream Interpretation / Re: Broken Tooth
« on: February 04, 2017, 07:04:56 AM »
Teeth can also represent words.  Because your tooth was an implant, it might be that someone put a word or "words in your mouth" and then the word or words were "broken."

It might be that someone volunteered you for something that you did not want to do or did not follow through on.  Or someone said that you had a certain thought, feeling, opinion or judgement that was/is not completely correct.

You might have even done this to yourself in trying to please someone or to try to empathize or identify with them in the moment.

There are lots of ways we can diminish our Self without being conscious of it.

This is just a more symbolic way of interpreting your dream.

I have also had dreams which were premonitions.  So you could think about getting your implant checked out.

Dream Interpretation / Re: No Skin on the Bottom of My Feet
« on: February 03, 2017, 12:06:48 AM »
Your dream made me think of how embarrassed I felt and still feel sometimes for other people.  You did not break the vase and yet you felt bad.  So to feel better or good you clean it up when it is not your responsibility.  Your logic knows this but you follow that feeling in your heart.  Does your brother do this too? Is this something you both were subject to in your family?

Usually shoes relates to your position in life or a situation.  You could have worn combat boots and yelled "you dropped it so you clean it up"  or waitress shoes "Here let me clean that up for you."  But no shoes and the carvings on the bottom of your feet, which you would not normally see, suggest that this was something that was ingrained or imprinted in you without your being aware of it.

Dream Interpretation / Re: covered with penis'
« on: February 02, 2017, 11:55:17 PM »
I am 58 and post menopause and not on HRT.  There has been a decrease in estrogen in my body and an increase in testosterone.  This is normal.  It took me some time to get used to this change, as it has come with thinking and sometimes speaking more aggressively.  I had had lots of dreams about me having a penis during that time.

The black lines or strings make me think of negative words, thoughts or feelings...attachments...that you are fearful to express.  They also could be interpreted as semen, the way you described it...you might "see men" more negatively than you used to...or have a different, possibly lower level of tolerance for some of their behaviors.  You might have a fear of unloading your negativity on others.

The name Catherine seems to mean clear or pure.  With her being the feminine part of you, possibly related to your intuition or spirit, often this relates to the left side of the body, the left hand and the side your heart is on.  However, you can not survive in that realm only and need to survive and eat in the material world.  So the cookie can feed both of these needs.

Dream Interpretation / I Am Married to a Heart
« on: November 08, 2016, 11:45:33 AM »
The only image in the dream was a Polaroid photograph.  In it the picture is of a large person...a grey or dark head and a glowing white body.  In the person's right hand, they are holding a polaroid picture...it is all black.

In the dream I hear "you are married to a heart."

A bright, light blue (almost neon), three dimensional skull.

I did not see anything about a skull in particular in the dictionary.
