Greetings / New to board
« on: August 04, 2011, 01:07:49 AM »
Hi everyone!  I'm very glad to have found this group, and hope to be welcomed into your community.
I have had a very vivid dream life since I was VERY young, and have been very interested in uncovering the meaning of my dreams on my own.  Other than my daughter, most people I know do not recall or examine their dreams, so I have always felt strange discussing them, and even a bit unusual for having/recalling as many as I do.
I am looking forward to reading your interpretations and dreams, sharing dream details and opening a new understanding of my "other life."

Dream Interpretation / Mistaken pregnancy & fake funeral
« on: August 04, 2011, 12:43:39 AM »
I was at the doctor because I was pregnant and my belly had stopped growing.  I looked to be about 5-6 months pregnant.  My husband was with me and the doctor told me I was not and had not been pregnant, that it was all a mistake.  My belly was big and he could not explain why, but was very sure we had just made a mistake.  My husband & I began to discuss a fake funeral to end the mistaken pregnancy because we felt that our family and friends would not understand the sudden change in information.  There was no sadness or shame, just very logically trying to make an explanation that would be easier for everyone else to understand.  (In real life, we have two grown children.  In the dream, I was not younger, but was my current age.)

Dream Interpretation / Bottom Step is Alligator
« on: August 04, 2011, 12:33:50 AM »
Last night I had this very vivid dream:  I was in my classroom (Teacher in real life) and dismissed my students.  I exited the back door of my classroom and discovered that the classroom was actually inside a mountain cabin in the middle of the woods (a real, idyllic place I had visited with my husband many years ago, before we were married).  As I stepped down 3 steps onto the forest floor, I felt a little confused and I looked back and saw that my classroom was still there, empty and unchanged.  Turning toward the woods, I saw a hammock close by and decided to rest. As I started to sit, I saw my husband coming out of the cabin to join me.  He also stepped down the 3 steps toward me, but instead of the last step, there was now an alligator!  I tried to warn him, but it was too late and he had already stepped onto the alligator's head, angering it so that it thrashed about and bit his leg to the bone.  I felt instantly guilty as though I should have been faster; I should have been able to warn him.  I rushed toward him, feeling helpless and not sure what to do, then awoke with a start.

Any ideas?
