Dream Interpretation / Re: canoeing to the sea
« on: January 14, 2016, 11:30:54 AM »
 hi tony,
sorry for taking so long to reply,
it is you that i salute,as you can see deeper than me,
all i arrived at with this dream was that sense of some sort of birth,at least thats the analogy i came up with, but i  could be wrong,i do not know of anything significant happening to warrant the content in the dream,
i can only hope it is something that will reveal itself  further.

Dream Interpretation / canoeing to the sea
« on: January 10, 2016, 01:36:36 PM »
hi tony,
i recently had a few dreams regarding meeting a female who told me i was stuck, said she was going away for a while ,that when she returned she would bring something to un-stick me,
i have a good idea that this dream refers to my intuition which has been on holiday to put it mildly,
last night i had this dream which i am not sure relates to the above ,hoping you can help.
the dream.
i am kayaking along a narrow river, this river is barely wide enough to take just one canoe,it is so shallow in parts that i have to put my hands down into the water and push myself along, the narrow river also goes up and down hills like a rollercoaster ,flowing in one direction which i come to understand is one way only,as i reach the top of a hill i meet two other kayakers coming the other way, they get out to let me pass,i thank them and paddle on,
we reach the sea into a large bay similar to what you would find in scotland, heather, rocky etc.
i remark out loud ,that finally we have arrived at last.
what i did feel was the relief of transferring from what was quite a constrictive almost claustrophobic journey into a much more expansive  environment,so many symbols in this dream ,
the narrow channel plopping out into a bay has a birth motif about it,
look forward to any thoughts.
kind regards mikey

Dream Interpretation / my avatar
« on: October 12, 2015, 03:57:49 PM »
Hi tony
I chose the title my avatar carefully as I felt it had meaning to this dream.
I see myself taking part in the olympics, a sprint final, the starter gun fires we sprint off down the track,
as we near the finish line I am ahead but sense over my shoulders others catching up, crossing the line I dip forward as sprinters do .
I win the gold as I have come first.
I am humble in this victory as I tell the other runners, I have not run this race for myself, but have run it for someone else, this other someone said they would not cry, looking across to the winners podium I see another me crying with joy at this acievement,
I seem to remember a saying, cant remember where from or whom,
I can of mine own self do nothing.
I chose that title my avatar, as I definatly was aware of another me, a better more in tune me, I remember joseph campbell talking about peak experiences, especialy a race he took part in at college, he just intuitively new he was going to win that day, he didnt know how he knew, he just did,
Perhaps I just need to get out of the way, and let this other me come through.
look forward to any thought

Dream Interpretation / Re: wisdom of the ancient
« on: September 17, 2015, 04:47:21 PM »
thank you tony for your wisdom ,you are truly a master poet.

dreams being a halfway house,i felt this in the dream, the wise old lady sat in a door, sort of a halfway zone, she was the medium by which a contact with the divine otherworld (through her hut)could be conducted in this case via dreams.

the second, action in non action, this is the crux i think for me,
i really feel that all my past dreams of making that leap are to do with this letting go,letting it all unfold in its own time, who cares if you die in the process.
i will take on board what you have said, although i need to slowly digest the content .

Dream Interpretation / wisdom of the ancient
« on: September 15, 2015, 04:09:55 PM »
hi tony.
i had this dream the other night, one of those ones that stay with you throughout the following days,i think because of the ancient feel of it.
the dream.
i come to a place in a forest,a hut type structure built from oak leaves and hazel boughs,in the doorway sits an ancient looking old lady,i say ancient as she has clothes made from what looks like knitted moss,i feel she is as ancient as the earth itself, she radiates knowledge,of things of the earth, and the other world.
she asks me to sit, which i do,
she then tells me about a stone,a special stone of power, which i must place inside a hazel wood staff,by carving out a recess and gluing it in.
i ask her where i can find this stone, she tells me that i do not need to look for it, as it will find i me,i then woke up.

what stood out for me was her words,"it will find you",
i am aware these processes cannot be rushed, and things tend to happen when the time is right,
i was reminded of ,they also serve who stand and wait, think it was Blake ??

as always i respect your knowledge and experience and look forward to any thoughts you may have .

tony,
my aerial is switched on and twitching,
i watched a movie last night called, hector and the search for happiness, this is most definatly about making leaps of faith,i would recomend it,the message from the story was, learning that the only obligation you have in life is to be happy about it,
tough lesson to learn in this day and age, with all our to do lists,5yr,10 yr goals etc.
i am reminded yet again ,put down the life you have planned for yourself, and pick up the one thats at your feet.

Hi tony sorry for my delay in replying.
The other day i came upon the phrase, "to be up a pole"one of the meanings being , to be slightly mad,
This to me would fit the idea of having to make a leap of faith, as to some it would appear as a crazy thing to do,
I recall someone saying,
we refuse to do many things in life because of the what ifs, but its those what ifs that make it all worth while.
I hope I find or can bring forth that spirit as it holds the key to freedom.

Dream Interpretation / Re: that leap!
« on: July 23, 2015, 10:15:48 AM »
Hi tony,
if I am being persued by anything it has to be my past, we are products of our enviroment, our past after all, I remember the words spoken to me in my last dream, I want you to let it go, let it all go, the love the hate etc, this is a difficult thing to do as I am sure you are aware, I know of no way to speed this process up, so all I can do is let it all unfold naturaly ,
I mentioned the jack & beanstalk story as the dream had a similarity with it, but I was not being persued by a giant, it was more about taking that leap, the final battle.
I leaped in the dream thinking there was going to be nothing , but I was wrong, I feel this is a good old compensation dream, correcting my lop sided thinking, still whatever occurs, it will take a leap of faith, here I go , cowabunga!

just thought i would include what i read on the Beanstalk:
sourced from the secrets of spirituality & mythology blog.

Setting out to explore the higher world by courageously climbing the beanstalk, Jack enters into an unknown space. In the tall house he meets his nemesis the monster ogre, a personification of his shadow self which he must conquer before obtaining any treasure, which is a very clever metaphor for self-improvement  by ridding oneself of the negative emotions of greed, hatred, as personified by the monster within. Similarly, Snow White and Cinderella succeed when their evil Stepmother dies a terrible death symbolizing the destruction of the shadow side. All three fairy-tales therefore place emphasis on the internal insight into the true self and  bringing to the light of awareness their own darkness in order to cleanse their mind of negativity.

The beanstalk is identical with the  tree in the Garden of Eden or in the Garden of Hesperides as both are solid vertical plants that grow upward and produce a type of seed or fruit. The beanstalk and tree should be considered a symbol for the human spine and nervous system. This tree appears in the Garden of Eden with the serpent encircling the trunk and offers Eve the apple. An apple that bestows immortality and knowledge of good and evil, just as the beanstalk is guarded by a monster Ogre the tree is guarded by the serpent as the prize of immortality must be won by great effort. Similarly, Hercules eleventh labor involved stealing Heras’ Golden apples of immortality, located in the Garden of Hesperides which was protected by the hundred headed dragon named Ladon, a symbol of Kundalini.  The prize of the golden immortal apples is a parable for the mental gifts which manifest after the transformation, that include long life, creativity, spirtual insughts, magnetic attractiveness, a sense of immortality and the inner golden light.

The beanstalk grew upward into the sky, or heaven in a sense. Jack climbs the Beanstalk (spine) to reach “heaven “and obtain the gold of higher awareness. This first foray into the heaven cannot be sustained. Three trials are often mentioned in fairy-tales, and accordingly, Jack tries to obtain more gold upon each entrance up the beanstalk or spine. in his first attempt he only receives a small set of gold coins; then the goose that lays the golden eggs, in the final escape he obtains the Golden harp. The three golden objects point to the progressive expansion in consciousness, which does not happen all at once, it is a sequential unfoldment building upon previous expansions. The body and brain needs time to physically adjust to any new activity of bio-energy. Nerves are rewired and new hormones are created. This relates to psychology of the mystic who searches desperately for a new experience after once reaching the “kingdom of heaven’’ or the bliss of Samadhi.

Dream Interpretation / that leap!
« on: July 17, 2015, 09:35:38 AM »
hi tony,
as you know the theme in my last couple of posts seem to hover around (no pun intended) making a leap into the unknown,
i am of the mind that if a dream repeats itself it is because the meaning is not yet understood, baring this in mind,
this latest dream is a reflection of this idea,or maybe a sign of progress ,i am not sure.
the dream.
i am aware of many previous battles taking place, there is one more to come,i am aware i am heading towards the  last battle, intuitively i feel it is one i am going to win.
i am running through undergrowth knowing somewhere i am going to reach the edge of a cliff,
breaking through a large bush i make a great leap into fresh air,i have jumped into nothing,i can see the patchwork of fields below me as if i am up in the sky,i think i am probably going to die.
but,i realise in front of me is a huge tall wooden pole ,i land on this hugging it with a grip of life, phew,
i realise i can slide down like a fireman would to the ground, where a huge army dressed in white is waiting for me,this is the last battle,i understand that the battle is with whatever is coming down the pole after me.

no doubt you will see as i did,the resemblance to jack and the beanstalk,i have read quite a few  interpretations from psychological & spiritual sources on the metaphorical meaning of the story.
as always i respect your knowledge of dream content, and would value your thoughts,

Greetings / Re: New Poster - Introduction
« on: July 08, 2015, 01:10:37 PM »
Hi scribbles,
in the past I have had similar experiences in dreams myself, with the added shock of finding out the person whos body or shoes I occupied tell me about the same dream but from there perspective, I have been told this is dream sharing, a kind of spirit walking, where you experience anothers dream,
this may all sound a little crazy, but when you consider what carl jung had to say about the collective consciousness, it is less crazy, I read some words of wisdom from a native american, frank manyhorses,
what most  people see as supernatural, the native americans call natural.

Dream Interpretation / enactment of a rune dream.
« on: July 06, 2015, 09:27:31 AM »
hi tony,
i had a dream a few days ago which doesn't really need interpreting, but i thought i would mention it as it gave me an insight into another way in which dreams try to communicate.
the dream,
i see an ancient ruin similar to stonehenge revolving round & round, the objective is to jump through one of the openings at the right time,i hear a voice say ,its about timing.
i then see myself down in a hollow,i become aware of something coming up the road but because of my position i can't see what it is,i am now out of the hollow & can now see what is coming,i say outload, its OK i have dreamed  this before ,i am expecting it.
now i have a book on runes by Ralph blum,
i had one of those aha moments,i remembered a rune that was quoted in visual form in the dream which was all about timing, reading up on it ,it said,
when the timing is right, the outcome is assured, although from the present vantage point ,not predictable,
rely therefore on radical trust,& be ready to make that empty handed leap into the void,
well i have goosebumps, this fits the recent dreams i have posted here on that expanding into the great nothing ness theme.
so i would surmise from the dream ,if what you seek is in accord with what the life process has in store for you,it is assured, although from the present vantage point unpredictable.
the by product of this dream & my understanding of it,have given me a great sense of calm & understanding that despite my lack of faith on occasions, all will be well.

thanks tony,
i knew you would be no stranger to this sort of dream content,
i will  read your suggestions,
i have often felt that,we find security & some comfort in a belief system or particular way of thinking or  living, and when we become aware of the alternative, that life is meaningless,a random event in a vast cold empty universe,  even more so.as it seems to make it all bareable
your right ,this is a to big a subject, especially for a humble yorkshireman,
there was a touch of death about this dream, felt that the hole i find myself in,based on all my previous experiences is what is actually holding me back,it has given me some sort of comfort, but now the mood seems to have changed,i have to make that empty handed leap into the void, trusting that all will be well.
this seems to me, to be a task for, a person of great courage, with no belief system sustaining them, hence the empty handed leap.
am i that sort of person,honestly i don't think i am,not yet anyway.

Dream Interpretation / the great nothing
« on: June 03, 2015, 08:42:45 AM »
hi tony,
i think i have been suffering from a kind of shamanic sickness, where something has been trying to attract my attention by breaking down my defences, while ill on holiday i slept ,i had this dream if it can be truly called a dream, the content of which i am certain will resonate with you.
the dream.
i am in a large dug out hole in the ground, way above my head,i need to climb out but cant.
i  realise that all the grains of soil/dirt that have been removed to form the hole, represents experiences in my life both good and bad,all the wonder, all the pain, the love, the hate.
i become aware, that out of the hole exists  a huge nothing- ness,a vast seemingly empty abyss,
i hear that voice ,it says,i have to let go,let go of it all, expand into the great emptiness,
Of course i am not enlightened enough to do this,so i feel the great fear & dread of this surrender.

from a psychological/spiritual aspect i see it is something that cannot be penertrated or contemplated by the rational mind,it is beyond our capacity to understand,so our egos fear it,mine certainly does.
this is not symbology i have experienced in a dream before, sure i have read about it in some hindu, buddhist stories ,
Despite my fear, i believe i have had something of a breakthrough.
i know some folk gingerly peer over the edge into the abyss, very few laugh and jump in.
perhaps i need to be a fool !
look forward to your thoughts.
rgds mikey.
