Yolandi – You see, I said you had it in you. You are growing in leaps and bounds.

Remember that love, and hold it over and above you like a shower, and let it flow over you and through you, so others who haven’t felt it can also shower in it.

Stephen – Sorry I missed your dream. I saw so many replies I thought I must have answered it.

I see your hawk as your eye in the sky, and what a flirt too. I think she is saying, “Come and get me.”

Obviously this is dealing with sexual feelings, or should I say sexual energy. For that energy expressed as sex is only one of its many ways of expressing. As this is a hawk, a hunter and can fly, I think it can be a way you can fly with that energy into different dimensions of experience. See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/energy-sex-and-dreams/

But the flap where she shows you her vagina is a tremendous clue. It is saying that if you allow your sexual response and fly with it you can be led up and away.

Greetings / Re: Hi I'm Rain!
« on: October 12, 2011, 10:30:29 AM »
Hi Rain - It is good to meet you here.

I was interested to hear of your lucid experiences, and would like to hear any description of them. But something that has fascinated me has been the waking lucid dream. It is when we learn to allow the dream process to break through into waking consciousness.

It started when I was trying to understand what makes us or allows us to go to sleep. I saw that to go to sleep we need to allow our thoughts to become random, and to surrender our will and self to sleep. So by surrendering my will and thoughts I could allow dreams to occur while awake. But the quality of them was so much better. See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/the-waking-lucid-dream/

I have explained this at some length elsewhere but here is some of it:

In life and sleep we have two powerful actions working in us. The first is our waking experience based on having a body, its limitations, vulnerabilities and a particular gender. Our second is the power that gives us life and continues to express as dreams.
• While we sleep our conscious self is largely or totally unconscious, and while we sleep our voluntary muscles are paralysed – so another will or motivating force moves our body. So we have a Conscious Will, and what I will call a Life Will. The first one we have experience of as we can move our arm or speak; but the second will takes over when we sleep.
• This Life Will can move us to speak, to move our body, and in fact do things that we cannot do with our Conscious Will. As Freud pointed out this inner will has full access to our memories. It can do so many other things that are described else where – See ESP in Dreams; Edgar Cayce.
• This Life Will or motivator has been active for millions of years and we see it working all the time in animals. We are partly split in half because we are often opposed to what our Life Will in us wants. So the only way to express what is good for us is in dreams when our conscious will is largely passive.
• Life Will created your body and pre-existed you as a person you know today. It was working in you prior to your ability to speak or know in the way you do now. But of course it has fantastic unconscious wisdom and skills, as can be seen in animals.

Yolandi - Please do not believe you are a dummy. That is so far from the truth. I myself was thrown out of school because I was thought to be a dummy.

But I listened to that inner voice you mentioned, and as much as I could I let it shine. It was difficult, but I persevered. And I am still persevering because there is so much inside of us - and that means you. There is so much that wants to come out.

I have written story about it, many year ago, when I  was still encased.  See http://dreamhawk.com/stories/encased/

Dream Interpretation / Re: archetype of the paradigm

Mikey – Thanks for that.

I suppose one of the greatest experiences I had of something the brain didn’t have knowledge of came very early in my life. My first wife and I were at the time talking about our dreams every morning. And one morning my wife told me she had experienced a dream in which a bodiless voice behind her said her friend’s baby was ill. The baby was from a couple we knew from where we had previously lived. They had written to us saying that their baby boy had been born and all was well. We couldn’t afford a telephone at the time, so we had to rely on the post. As we could not make sense of the dream as being about us I wrote to the couple explaining the dream. The dream voice had said that the baby had an illness that would necessitate it taking a drug every day of its life. And the reason for this, the voice continued, was because in a past life the person, now born as the baby, had committed suicide using a drug.

I sent this to the couple and didn’t have a reply for about a week. But when it came it said that the letter had been a catalyst for a worry. The worry was that the baby had not been feeding well, so after receiving the letter they took their baby to the doctor. The doctor couldn’t find what was wrong so suggested tests at the hospital. The result was that they found the baby lacked the ability to digest calcium, and without that the baby would die. So it had to take a drug every day of its life to make up for the lack.

As the saying goes, there are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in our – materialistic – philosophy.

Slick – I do not see any signs of your husband dying – even with the man with an axe to his head. But what is obvious to me is that you are anxious that your husband will either leave your or die. All your dreams are about FEELINGS you have and they are not facts. But of course feelings are often difficult things to deal with and so need attention.

I have seen it happen several times that women have a great fear their husband will leave them after the birth of their baby. Also it is obvious to the man, but needs to be obvious to you, that prior to your baby’s birth your husband was the centre of your love and attention. But after that your attention is focussed on your baby – and of course the baby’s welfare, so the husband is needed as a presence. So from a man’s point of view he has almost totally lost his wife, and it is big adjustment. So take time to give your husband attention and some love, and do not spend it all on the baby.

There is also a suggestion in your dream that your husband has difficult with work.

Keleb – If you are right handed it means that something you have pushed away from knowing about; something that haunts you when you are relaxed, as a thought or a feeling comes that you avoid. People do it all the time by smoking, or drinking, or suddenly getting in the middle of friends.

It means that at times you feel a lack of confidences about supporting the things you are trying to do. For instance I am right handed and I always support the action of my right hand with my left - as in banging in a nail or writing.

General Discussion / Re: Planet Earth
« on: October 10, 2011, 02:06:27 PM »
Having lived along life I lived through the time when everyone was certain that we would all be destroyed by atomic warfare. I remember one young guy telling me there was no point in getting married and having a family. He was so certain of it, and yet I had a sure sense of a future - and that is how I feel now. Of course there will be upheavals as there always is. But as Dakota says, the Earth is a living thing and will fight back, and it will preserve what is connected with it as a living thing does.

For years I studied and used the process of homeostasis - keeping balance in face of change. And that is fundamental to all life and the cosmos. We have been bombarded by scientific theories based on lack of information. All nature has consciousness. But we have been told that it is dead matter - all based on the idea that everything was based on the atom which is a material thing. So when for instance your brain is injured YOU are injured. Fortunately there is now proof that that is not so, and our planet has a consciousness and is NOT an inert thing. Even the single celled creatures have a level of sentience - and watch it emerge as creatures become more complex.

Anything that does not live as if it is a living part of the whole is dying and as life and the Earth goes through it cycles it will clear away what is dead. See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-dictionary/quantum-physics/

So I say watch and see how it works - and for goodness sake open your eyes! Here is something I wrote for children 12 years ago.

Over millions of years the need to survive has developed in us the skill to look at the world to see dangers or opportunities. We see THINGS - a person, a book, an animal or a tree. Our mind and feelings mostly work to see if what we see and hear are of any use to us, whether they are dangerous or helpful. This narrow view of things stops us seeing the web of life in which we are linked. To start seeing like a dweller in the Great Temple, begin by looking at a tree or animal as a separate thing. Then start to recognise how the tree or animal does not have a life distinct from everything around it. For instance what would happen to a tree if there were no air or sun? Take time to recognise as many such links as you can. Don’t think you have ever discovered them all, as there is depth after depth to find. When you begin to detect the links of life, and not only think about them but can feel something about them, try looking at yourself, your parents, or a new born baby. The Great Temple is where we all link. To see it we must see what connects us all.

Dream Interpretation / Re: Spiritual Guide
« on: October 10, 2011, 01:26:50 PM »
Christine - It seems a clear enough dream. You are faced with a choice between the darkness and the light and you said no. That is a natural reaction because  having lived in the darkness we are used to it and so are repulsed by any change or challenge. I remember when I came to that point I didn't want to take it up - because I saw I would have no more excuses for my 'illness' and living in a pigsty.

I believe when we are born we are washed up on a shore of a great sea. We call it birth, and we can be born into all sorts of problems and strangeness. As I say in Ground Zero (http://dreamhawk.com/poems/ground-zero-the-psuedopod/) "Anyway, being born is a shit thing to happen to one so young."

We are like seeds of the whole cosmos who have been entered into birth with an amazing potential that has to be uncovered - and it has been covered up with all manner of shit.

The spiritual adviser is the potential you are born with. I think it will be worth while making a fuller relationship with him/her/it. It will be hard work shoveling the shit, but what else can we do?

Dream Interpretation / Re: white wolf dream
« on: October 09, 2011, 01:50:55 PM »
Well, it seems as if you have sorted it out between Dakota and you.

But there are things I would like to add. The dark forest you are in is a symbol of you entering a natural but dark - partly unconscious  - aspect of your mind/awareness. In other words it is a little known aspect of your own enormous potential or mind. It is an enormous awareness that usually we approach carefully, because as a human being, our personality or self is so small. We are like flowers that have grown and yet do not know where we have grown from, our roots. Usually we only have awareness of this one life, because a flower only blooms once and doesn't connect with its dark past, then fades and dies. Only the roots of us know all and that is shrouded in what we call unconsciousness. We give hints of knowing through other symbols and images -we call them spirit guides or other names. But they are only glimpses of the immensity that lies behind us all the time.

The white wolf is such an image. You run from because you are a small self afraid of your bigness. Of course it chases you because you have in in you to move toward the bigness - you have courage as well as fear. It wishes to show you itself - not the form of the wolf but what lies hidden in you.

Now you come to the most important part, the jump into the immensity of yourself. Unfortunately you are still terrified to know the truth of what you are beyond images, beyond names and half seen things. But you are now on the way. I suggest you consciously jump into that void, again and again while awake, until you are no longer afraid of it. Then the real journey begins.

Sorry I get on my high horse.

But even so what I still feel whether asleep of awake it deals with the mind, and I see it over and over in people's dreams - the lack of information about how the mind works. It has levels of experience that start in the body, and gradually work their way up into self awareness. And our 'self' is so small a part of us and also little understood - and usually we believe rational thought is the highest attainment - and therefore we have attempts to interpret what are really deeply irrational experiences.

It is something that even so called experts do not understand - a gestalt put together with all the pieces.

I know, I can't help it - going on. But I get so frustrated - even by my efforts to explain people' dreams. And - thanks for putting up with me.  :D :D :D

I am very suspicious of any ready made answers to a persons dream images. It isn't that I am saying your friends ideas are wrong, but it doesn't usually work like that. In exploring thousands of my own dreams - not interpreting them - I have not found any of my images have such meanings. And if it is about God, what the hell is God except a word - unless of course you explore the image to find out what it is as a living and meaningful part of your dream and life.

That is where I myself stumbled as I began to look at dreams and words we use so often - like spirit, soul, god. I had to get behind the dream image to actually explore. Also, dreams are very much like the way we use language - context is important. So if someone dreamt of a blue dress we could not give it the same meaning as a man with a blue face.

It has sometimes taken me six months to gain a living insight into dream image. So it takes work to really progress. What I do in trying to give an idea of someones dream is to honour as much as possible the context - and most dreams I cannot understand. I have to pray and ask for help, and it takes me often an hour for each dream.

But even that is not what my main thrust is. If anyone really seems to keep trying to understand their dreams I keep pointing them back to exploring their own dreams. After all I am not earning anything by spending and hour on a dream.

But I do get a great deal from seeing someone grasp hold of a principle I have given a life time of effort exploring and trying to present. See http://dreamhawk.com/inner-life/i-dont-believe-in-god-i-know-god/

Dream Interpretation / Re: Pumpkins and black painted window..

MiaD – The opening scene is about finding something, a change. It has deep significance for you connected with the number 29. Numbers usually have very personal associations but it may point to your age, or passage of that number of years. Also what associations do you have with eggs? Do they remind you of food, or fertility, or the wonder of life emerging?

The house is the place you will live in, a place or life situation that has a link with death or the unknown of some sort. But it is not a depressing situation – its walls are all white.

Your mother isn’t a visit from the dead, but a reminder of her caring attitudes which you now express as a dream image of her. That is why she tells you not to keep the pumpkins – after Halloween. Halloween is also a link with death and the underworld or unconscious. But her warning is not anything bad – so it may be a suggestion of letting go of feelings connected with the unconscious or what you have associated with Halloween. It is a season when leaves fall, so maybe letting go of things that served you in the past.

That you wanted to go back to an old way of life brings us back to the opening suggestion – change. Your dream suggests you will not be able to go back to the way you felt then, so loss is shown again. The blanket is a promise of warmth and even intimacy. You are moving to a new life, so be patient with yourself.
