Dream Interpretation / Re: Dreaming of a Moose
« on: September 20, 2011, 11:07:52 AM »
Judyz – It doesn’t matter that you have not met a moose. Everything we see in life or in films we develop associations with. And these are aided and amplified by what we know of our connection with Life itself – and all its creatures.

I haven’t met a moose either but I had a dream about one that has a similar feeling to yours.

Quote
Last night before I slept I wondered how I, my ego, could co-operate with the forces of life in me. I dreamt I was walking along School Lane in Amersham with my dog Tramp. Ahead, coming toward me I saw a horse and rider. I called Tramp to heal, and the horse stopped and I put my face close to its muzzle. In some way I felt connected, and as I looked up I saw it was a female moose not a horse. It lifted its head and because of my connection lifted me too. It felt very pleasant.

So I feel your dream has a similar theme – the connection you have with the life in you. And by that I mean all the forces of your body, because after all your body is an ancient beast that you are rider of. Unfortunately many people do not honour that connections, but obviously you do and it brings happiness.

Dream Interpretation / Re: Being trapped in a lift
« on: September 20, 2011, 10:52:25 AM »
Thanks Christine. I only want to say a bit more about the lift.

Some years ago while I was running group and a woman in the group suddenly decided she was the lover of a stranger who lived in the same building. She went into his room and said she owned everything there because they were in love. He didn’t feel the same.

The woman had apparently had such experiences before and had stopped taking her medication. She dreamt that she was going up in a lift and shot right out of the top of the building.

That was obviously a description of her condition. She could not control the rapid rising and come down to earth. I see your dream doesn’t have the same degree, but I wonder if you too felt as if you were slightly mixed up at times.

Sometimes the rising lift has connections with ones sexual energy. Our energy expresses as a lot more than sex, and can play havoc with our feelings. And the business with the buttons suggests that you have difficulty directing your emotional energy. Not badly, but you did have a struggle getting the lift to do what you wanted. Even so I would suggest you try to get to the ground floor and work up slowly to the seventh.

Try the slow breathing technique as it can be a help. http://dreamhawk.com/body-and-mind/the-slow-breath/

ToBeAware – I wonder if this dream is partly due to you being in your monthly cycle, where you are open to a relationship. The guy you have a good feeling about is obviously the type that attracts you. Also it seems that you enjoy being with people, and you do not have any difficulties about being with your man and enjoying partying.

But you move on and visit an old couple – to view something of interest to everyone. I wonder if this is you exploring life as you age. In your dream, you and you were both active and strong.

Then you walk on and suggest sex to your man. Again you are easy about it, though it is put of to a later time. The bus reminds me again that you like being with other people and the countryside. But the journey took you in a direction you did not expect – is that in life? As it is your dream, I suspect that it is emerging from what you are not aware of – but you are with your man in a relaxed way.

Dream Interpretation / Re: Visiting the lighthouse
« on: September 16, 2011, 11:54:40 AM »
Mokey – You start the dream with a great ease with your inner and outer life – the beautiful blue sea. Also you are helping to raise your own inner child. Most of us have this task as we try to grow, because we cannot do so without undoing the wrong experiences we met. See http://dreamhawk.com/inner-life/your-inner-child/ and http://dreamhawk.com/health-and-healing/inner-baby-and-child/

But your are doing well in supporting and enjoying this. But then you are ready to face some issues – the business of whether to live alone, with a woman or with a man. The lighthouse is the scene for this and you wonder if you could cope with it but see it has a garden – a place in which you can relax, grow and experience the beauty of nature – as in the first part of your dream.

Being dream the friend Jodie is also an aspect of you. Like the song, I am a girl who can’t say no. But what are you, in the end not in agreement with – homosexual feelings? But maybe you are saying, “No I do not want to live alone”.

The ticket is an important thing – unless you’ve got the ticket, the price we pay to achieve something or get somewhere; or the sense of right to something, therefore confidence or validity. The uncertainty about Jodie was probably the feelings that were causing you to be uncertain of you right to be able to get into that wonderful awareness of sharing with others in the water.

I feel the return to the lighthouse is another look at living by yourself. It offers a lot of space and the garden. Then your friend Katie is another fresh aspect of you that has a different experience.

That shift then puts you in touch with your male self, a very positive move, one that can lead to wholes and not worrying about being alone.

But it is a whole new way of relating to yourself, so at the moment you cannot understand it. The love you felt makes you look at things like a TV show and that doesn't make sense, while the love you felt does.

Sorry - I am getting old and forgetful.

Tips - to start people off. I think the way it happened to us. We started by asking people to imagine themselves as a dried seed. What shape would they be, what would it feel like, are they asleep of waiting ,and ask them to feel it with their body and mind - don't think it up but see it it will come from sensing their body and feelings. Then ask them to wait in that situation and suggest they are now in warm moist soil and their growth is triggered. Again do not think it up, and it is okay if nothing happens as it is an experiment.

Do this the same with soil, water and sun. Ask them each time to talk about it. This is a good gentle way to let the spontaneous emerge. They have a format and a symbol and that helps. And tell them it is okay to make sounds if they have an urge.

These are just suggestions. And here is a quote from Mind and Movement:

Judith, who teaches a yoga class, describes her use of this approach to LifeStream as follows:

“....I felt as if I were the bud of a crocus. I seemed to be slowly unfolding with difficulty. Not until I fully opened did I feel a great relief. The results of this have made me feel very positive in my outlook, and far happier.....I am a trainee yoga teacher and have been teaching for three years. I have a small class of fourteen students who are keen and attend regularly. I decided to have my students try this to see how they would react. I explained it as well as I could, and the feedback I got was:- A man in his thirties said, ‘I felt I was in a womb. It was very comfortable, cosy and dark. I wanted to stay there. I didn’t want to come away - it was so peaceful. I have never experienced anything like it before.’ He was very impressed. A woman in her thirties felt like throwing her arms around and kicking her legs.  ‘I felt I wanted to give birth and was about to deliver.’ She didn’t fling herself about, but held back. I think it was a pity she didn’t let go.

Perhaps I didn’t explain the whole procedure clearly enough for them to understand that it was entirely free movements. The majority acted out being flowers.  Only one in the class thought it was a lot of ‘bloody rubbish’, her words. She didn’t even try. She thought she would feel stupid acting out a seed. I personally was surprised at the outcome, that so much should happen first time.”

When using the starting point of the seed, or water, etc., we are giving the unconscious a ready made structure to work with. Because we may be unfamiliar with a completely unstructured approach to our inner processes, such a structure gives at least some sense of familiarity and confidence. Even so, some people find they want everything fully described, scripted or choreographed. The very point of LifeStream however, is to begin moving beyond the known in ourselves, towards creative newness and the unexpected. So even if some anxiety is felt, as with the woman Judith describes who defends her anxiety of the unknown by calling the exercise ‘bloody rubbish’, one needs to gradually move beyond such resistant feelings.

Questions about dreams / Re: astral projection
« on: September 15, 2011, 12:21:07 PM »
This getting really interesting and thank you Leswan for doing such a clear job about answering. And I say thank you because I feel we all need encouragement – me too!  :D

I see that we are often feeling we are projecting because we are in the dream state – in which our body is paralysed and it feels as if our body no longer exists and we are projecting, but in fact we haven’t moved anywhere.

Then if we are projecting we usually are in the dream and symbols world. See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/levels-of-awareness-in-waking-and-dreaming/

We need to go to another level to see ‘through’ the symbols to what underlies them. Usually we then exist in what is called in the film Matrix a construct. The danger of this lack of understanding applies to lucidity also. You are dealing with powerful mental, emotional and spiritual processes. It is important to understand what the dream process is capable of and what it does. Remember, a dream is a full surround virtual reality activating all your senses and abilities. See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/the-magical-dream-machine/

When you are in it, it is just as real to you as the physical world. But there is a huge difference. The environment, people, animals and objects are all projections. In the film Matrix, the hero is at one point put into a lucid virtual reality called ‘the construct’. He cannot understand what is happening to him, and his guide says, “What you see now is what we call residual self image. It is a mental projection….” Your dream is exactly that, an amazing moving and living projection in which you act and interact with YOURSELF. There is, in the widest or cosmic sense, nothing else. The dream process transforms your emotions, your beliefs and hopes, your fears and traumas, your intuitions and creative visions, into people, environments, animals and events. Understanding that is vital. Very often you see yourself as a physical body that is like the one you know so well in waking, but usually with some interesting alterations.

But there is another level we need to get to if we realise that we are only a construct of our own imagination. It is bodiless awareness without any gender. In fact all the imagery of travelling is sort of like the construct, necessary to make it seem real. In fact we are then in a timeless spaceless zone that we are in fact always in. There is no place that we are not inhabiting. We are everywhere, but of course our interest focuses us on particular places and people. As the new physics says, at this level there is no locality. See: http://dreamhawk.com/dream-dictionary/quantum-physics/

Hi – Tips – It is quite difficult to advise anybody because we are such contradictions as humans. We are a wonderful mixture of opposites that need to be acknowledged and not repressed. Emotions are an incredible sense organ and can lead to uncovering areas of self that disciplining ones emotions could never achieve. I see the disciplining of self as mentioned in some paths has left out an enormous amount of human experience. But in expressing ones feelings I see it has to be in a safe and non critical environment.

Where two or more come together – in the name of love and caring – has been a wonderful guide to me. It is an actual power that can be observed, and releases things in us that otherwise cannot emerge.

Of course we are human and need the feelings and support from others. I needed it to feel I was worthwhile and also it was a wonderful way to be a leader to have a group that was the main way of me growing and learning. Anyway it seems to me that you are being led and it will be well. You have a small group around you, and that is a sign that Life has set the seed in motion and it will grow.

ToBeAware – It is good to meet you here again.

I feel this dream appears to be a carry on of the last one you sent about the waterfall – letting go or holding on.

But I had a surprising response when looking at your dream – and excuse me if I am wrong. But it was that in fact you wanted to lose a part of you in that frozen world. It can mean that you have shut off a part of yourself in a sort of cold storage – a freezer.

As I see it this is explained in the first part of the dream where you suddenly leave the room and go into the realm of the ice. It seems to be saying that you wanted the rest of yourself – the audience – to see you demonstrate what you felt. Perhaps you did it to show a way of avoiding responsibility and decision making. In the end you feel you cannot do anything to change the situation.

What do you feel about that?

Dream Interpretation / Re: Spirit Guide Dreams
« on: September 14, 2011, 11:32:06 AM »
As for the question of whether a spirit guide is your inner self or are beings other than yourself, it isn't an easy question to answer.

If you look at it from a spiritualist type of viewpoint they are distinct persons. But looking at it from the perspective of the highest point, we are all one being, although we can express quite distinctly.

Remember that we all arose from a single celled creature and gradually differentiated - so all life forms are in that sense linked. And that is just at a physical level. So when someone says they are lonely tell them to look around and see their fellows everywhere, in the birds, spiders, snakes, the dogs and cats, and all life.

Wow - that's really interesting Pimuli. Please let us know how it goes.

And as for spirit guides I just wrote a description of one that I met. It is in Leswan's General Discussion about working in a group - the last entry.

Such figures are usually a bit unusual. So they are not to be confused with an outer person. but of course you may have more dreams that link you fully with him, and therefore any man you choose to be with.

Leswan – Sorry – I couldn’t help remembering this in connection with being a ‘teacher’.

In doing a search through my journal I realise that it was something I didn’t record. What happened was that I had been exploring why my intuition wasn’t better than it was. I particularly wondered why I didn’t develop greater insight into the people I was working with and trying to help.

My intuition at that time was wonderfully acute, so part of the question was why I couldn’t begin to have a deeper and fuller insight into people. I experienced a waking dream in a LifeStream way, and in it I met a man who seemed to be something of an adept or master; a sort of Caucasian white guru type. At first I understood his name to be Faser Dan Li. Then gradually it became Father Li. This I understood to represent fatherly and the name of Faser Dan Li to mean faster than light.

Anyway, this guru figure took me into very large greenhouses. Stretching away into the distance tiny seedlings were growing, most of them about four inches in height. As I watched some youths drove in on cross-country motorbikes and roared around the place. Faser Dan Li did nothing to prevent them. But when they had gone he looked at me and said, “Those are your emotions. They are wild and out of control. As such they could damage the tender growth of souls represented here by these little plants. Until your emotions are much more fully calmed and under control you cannot be given the keys of insight into other peoples being.”
