Hi Mokey – There is a lot in your dreams about sexual relationships. But as I read through I sense a lot of reservation or withholding.

The first hint is in the Freudian Slip where you say ‘pass her the vibrator’. I take it you harbour a feeing that your neighbour is frustrated and therefore irritable – if not in real life then in your dream. And that neighbour is a projection of you I guess.

The bit about the trousers may be an expression of the irritability mentioned.

So here you are getting to it and you suggest something sexy, but it never happens - frustration!! Hey, this is your dream, and all this stuff about other people about may be relevant in real life, but not in your dreams. Such things do not matter in dreams, so I wonder why you are frustrating yourself. And that is an important question, because if you face it you can find greater release. And the black man is, I feel, a symbol of what you are holding back, and there is some fear there.

So I am asking you Mokey, what is the fear you have about being sexual?

Now you move into a different dimension where you can be young and playful and have a teasing and loving relationship with a black woman. But when you return the black couple are still there and again you are feeling scared.

I am sure that if you can meet this one, and it might take a while, you will feel so much surer of yourself and easier in your dreams. So come out and play and taste the freedom.

Dream Interpretation / Re: circles by black dogs and a circle of salt
« on: January 12, 2011, 11:33:39 AM »
Chris – Your dream start with you looking for something that is actually your own choice, but is influenced by your mother. In other words you are still connected to your mother emotionally.

Then you meet the man with cancer, and at the end of the dream you connect this with your father. So then the celebratory cooking and the ring of black dogs are there barking. Dogs do not usually bark and collect in a circle like that, and so it seems like a warning. To quote from my entry on dogs, it says that - The black dog figures in quite a lot of people's imagery. Churchill and Bernard Levin use it to represent depression. For some people it is death. The sense or meaning the dog gives in relationship to depression or death is that it is a living energy in us which has gone 'bad' which causes the depression or death; urges which are largely unconscious; messenger related to death.

So here is a warning worth taking notice of. What you did in your dream was to use an old magic trick to repel anxiety – what used to be called ‘bad luck’.

However such dream warnings are not to be seen as awful, but as something to give you time to say or do with your father what is in your heart to be and do. It is not saying and doing that which causes so much heartache after the person has left for the journey through death. Also they sometimes come a while before the illness is really declared.

In any case have him check with a doctor if he can do it without being anxious.

Emily – What a fascinating dream!

I feel your dream is portraying something special about how you relate to yourself. Sometimes the monkey is described as being thoughtless mischief maker, but I see something else in your dream. It is that ‘something else’ that has caused you to feel such strong feelings of dread and guilt. In fact there is a lot of love linking you with it and it to you. And I think it could bring tears if you recognise what part of you it is.

That you forgot the monkey shows a struggle between you and the small creature that was willing to keep up with you. It is, I believe, an ancient struggle that few people are aware of. It is the struggle that goes on in each of us between our animal self and our cultured, educated and often tortured mind. Yet it is not a war, but a simple request to be recognised, respected and given a place in your life.

It is a dramatic struggle involved in becoming a conscious and mature person. The struggle is in gradually emerging from the impulsive animal tendencies such as we see in social hierarchy, religious and political groups, one nation fighting another. So the monkey can depict your primal animal self that existed prior to developing self awareness. It can indicate the sexual and feeling conditions underlying your present socialised personality.

But the monkey is also very wise with an instinctive wisdom millions of years old. If you can meet it and help it arise out of its instinctive responses, it gives you wisdom in exchange for the love it gives you. After all, what is human life but a gradual emergence from the processes of life, and often a complete denial of our ancient heritage?

This example gives a view of this:

From there I began to see human caring. It was as if I felt myself to be one of a group of monkeys. Within the group life was lived out of ones inner simplicity. But certain aged monkeys could attain a different level of awareness. They were called the White Haired Ones. I could become a White Headed One, but I would have to die in the sense of relinquishing my personal desires, fears and goals. Was I willing to do this? It had elements of risk. It might mean the end of life as I now lived it. But I had to take the risk. I was willing to die.

I became a White Hair. I saw from the vision of the White Haired. It was so simple, so organic and life-filled. I am only a finger of life, only a tiny part of the organic, living, whole. I am only one member of a large group. Life, through its living organism, cares. In the group of monkeys, if the mother dies, a sister or brother cares for the baby. Each individual is only one cell in the whole body. If that person goes away or dies, life, in the form of another person, cares for the children, or fills the needs of the adult.

My concern is not simply for my own children, any child is the children of all of us. It is only our bodies that were their doorways, but they are the children of Life. As a White Head, I must concern myself not just for the care of my own children, but any that may be near me. That is the simple wisdom of Monkey.

Questions about dreams / Re: Question about dreams
« on: January 11, 2011, 03:01:23 PM »
Yes it is common to see flashes or images, but most people do not concentrate on them and so filter them out. In fact if you were asked a question and didn't know the answer, something like -"What shall I do about my daughter, she is rebelling?" - and you closed your eyes and watched what images came, and tried to understand them and told them to the person who questioned you, you might find you are psychic and give them valuable information.

The flashes and changes in light and images are usually brain events that are played out as visual impressions.

Questions about dreams / Re: A question for Tony Crisp,if I may?
« on: January 11, 2011, 02:53:22 PM »
Mokey - I believe that dreams are multi dimensional, and we are only conditioned by our life through our senses to see them as only having one surface, one meaning. It isn't that the different approaches contradict each other, rather they add depth and meaning to whatever else you have arrived at.

I feel I expressed this well in writing about a house. "When you dream of a house, you are meeting a hugely important and many sided representation of yourself. It is both many faceted and multidimensional.

Each dream image holds enormous data, emotional response, and created patterns of behaviour. So in considering the house in your dream you need to remember you are in touch with a full surround databank of fantastic information about you, your past and your possibilities. You can interact with this information by exploring it in the right way."

So the questions help, so do imagining yourself as the dream symbol, and even praying for help as in the feature http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/prayer-and-dream-interpretation/

Even see what I had suggested in the actual feature about house. http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/the-house-in-your-dream/

How I came to dreams was a very winding route, so I feel there are lots of ways in.

Terraann – That is quite a dream, and I see from what happened in the dream you have already made quite a journey of growth in your life. Because there are so many aspects to your dream I might only gloss over some sequences.

The whole dream is about what you sense are the possibilities you may face in the future. The conflict with the scientists and the man with the syringe seems to represent a feeling you have about the present, and what has happened to you.  You had been injected with something that would make you passively accept the way things were. Injection usually points to something that has been put into you, such as ideas, viewpoints, education and propaganda. But something has woken you up to this – the economic crash – that you mention later.

Your rushing off and wanting to tell the ‘authorities’ is you period of waking up to what is happening around you in you waking life. It isn’t easy for you because there are so many opinions – people – pushing every which way. Nevertheless you feel it as am imperative to carry on. You are heading north – you are a creature of the northern hemisphere – so north is about difficult times. In Native American symbolism the North is said to be “The Black Road, The Rough Track of Trials.” So again it is suggesting that you are, or will, face trials. Therefore the suggestion is that you do not pull back from opposition or trials, but carry on the direction you feel you are impelled to go.

You are going up hill, a hard climb, and then you climb higher into the building. This shows you pushing against the odds, the growth that I mentioned in the beginning. You have covered a lot of ground – or will do – as you meet the events of that are coming.

Now the Purple Snake comes and you try all you can to avoid it. Now the snake is a much misunderstood image in dreams, and is usually one causing a lot of fear. Reptiles and Snakes in dreams are not some psychological symbol, but are an image, like on the computer screen that is just a link with an active and live principle. It is one of the three levels of your brain, the medulla, and is called the lizard brain. Neuroscientist Paul MacLean says we actually have three brains, the most primitive being the medulla. This part of our brain still deals with the same things it did in the lizard. Namely, flight and fight, reproduction, territory and ritual behaviour. I believe the lizard or snake in your dreams shows what is happening at this very basic, but very important level of your consciousness. This is why snakes and lizards are so often linked with sex. But they represent much more than that. They are also the wonder of the instinctive life in you trying forever to move toward survival, even if blindly. The snake and lizard represent the sexual, emotional and mental energy within. This energy, like electricity, can accomplish almost anything. In the home it can light a light, produce music or TV images, heat us or kill us. Your ‘snake’ energy can produce illness through being expressed as fear or terrible depression, or it can become amazing mental creativity and emotional pleasure, depending how you relate to it. So what is happening to the snake/lizard in your dreams shows what you are doing with your creative/destructive energy. Therefore being bitten by a snake depicts the emotional energy turned against yourself or someone else.

The snake in your dream links with the rising ocean; and the rising ocean denotes a cosmic event, an event that threatens ordinary human awareness, and awareness that if it isn’t centred in the Life principle within us could be downed – as with Noah’s. That you came to terms with the snake shows your measure of growth and achievement, even though you were originally terrified. The snake is the personal meeting with the forces of Life and the Cosmos as it underlies our personal life. See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/prophetic-dream-coming-years/. See also http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/levels-of-awareness-in-waking-and-dreaming/.

The snake communicates with you telepathically because it IS you, a powerful and amazing part of you. From the dream it seems as if your mission or destiny in the future is to care for children, and see them all as yours. It can also lead to you having a very new and heightened awareness of life.

The sunset and other cosmic events are about the ending of a period in your life, and probably the ending of a period of human development. When you pass through a tunnel you are facing the darkest period, but passing through it okay – after all you have the power of the snake with you now. But you need to keep honest and act with care for other humans. And that brings you through to a very new experience of life. It is a new world after the old one was devastated – not necessarily by floods, but by a massive shift in human understanding that many would be ‘drowned’ by.

The end is that you will have to build your lives in a new way.

Keep the faith.

Dream Interpretation / Re: Dreamt half a life
« on: January 08, 2011, 12:22:15 PM »
Power Mad – It took me ages to get a hang on this dream. I was thinking about it and that isn’t always the right way to enter the dream. So this morning I woke early and lay in the meditative prayerful state and it started flowing up from deep in me. See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/prayer-and-dream-interpretation/. What I understood I will try to put into words.

There was the hill, the ocean and the animals. The ocean is that from which our life has sprung, and so it is the source of the enormous urge to promulgate. And strangely enough here is a newspaper article:

Dandelions bring train to a standstill - The dandelion “parachutes” have come out across the country in the recent warm weather but yesterday large drifts were airborne in South Yorkshire and gusting across the main line. Somewhere near Doncaster, the five-carriage train ploughed through the drift, sucking vast numbers of the tiny seeds into the air filters, which were soon blocked.

I see the dream as a way of illustrating your desire to attain and the meeting with the extraordinary urge to promulgate, to populate. When you realised the cloud was too much for you to deal with you tried to climb above it but the bark was in the way. I saw the bark as all the thinking and words you have collected and are bogged down by. Like words they are lifeless protective things that fall away. You tried to grow or rise by thinking or trying to hard.

But then you died because the seeds suffocated you. The path you are trying to walk is up the hill toward a greater awareness. But death is a necessary part of that. Your personality that has been raised on words and thinking has to die to make way for growth. This type of death is like the spider that sheds its skin because it has grown too tight. So death is like recognition that we have grown as far as we can in our present mind state. That mind state has to die to give birth to another one.

And then you meet and become your totem animal. This is very much a Native American dream theme, and according to tradition it means Moose represents self-esteem and is also about the magick of life and death. Late autumn and early winter is her cycle of power.
It is One of the most ancient and unique power animals, the Moose energy brings in the power of self-esteem through recognizing ones own strengths and place in society. Moose medicine may be showing you that you have reason to feel good about a recent accomplishment or a task you have completed.

So those are quotes, but from the dream I get that this is a meeting with your Animal, the part of you that needs to be met and developed. And it is saying that you need to become meek as well as strong. You need to become your animal self for a while.

As a baby you were a small vulnerable animal, with all the natural instincts to feed, to survive, and to bond with your mother. This natural and spontaneous part of your nature is the foundation of what you have become now as an adult. Not only were you born with an enormous natural wisdom gained through millions of years of evolution, but your newborn self also carried protective responses such as fear, anger, and sexual longing. These are all built into your nature without any recourse to a self-aware personality. But our animal self has the inherited wisdom about survival and relationships, parenting and finding a mate. There is a lot to learn from it, and it is a wonderful resource.
But what many people find is that they are frightened of their dream animal, or have never learned to help it evolve into the human world. This means that many people have a great lack in themselves and in their dreams they have to meet and work with the animal in them. As a child we are often told not to do things that would allow us to mature with our animal self intact.

Therefore the dream is an initiation into death and the Native American tradition.

Mokey – The impressions I get are that in the first part of the first dream you are uncertain because the men are approaching you and you have a sort of sexual tension. I mean the sort of normal tension one feels in meeting the opposite sex – and there are several of them, so you do not know their intentions.

Then you understand your partner's intentions and you grow to a point where you realise your sexual pleasure is your own – the orgasm. You can share it with another person, but it is important to know you do not actually need anyone else.

Then you are in a more passive and child feeling; passive because you are waiting to be driven, and childlike because of your play with the girls. And that is a happy state of being for you.

I feel that you are mixing up your inner world and the qualities you have within you and the outer world and the anxieties you feel there. If you can realise the difference, and feel your way into the confidence you feel within you, it gradually becomes real in the world. Even you instinctive self  - the dog – is easy and loving.

As a woman you have an inbuilt higher level of anxiety than men – in general. This is because a woman is constantly concerned about the welfare of her child or children. And it is worth remembering that.

Slightly Lost - Such emotions are often the key that unlocks a mass of insights - if you don't mind howling.

I have found again and again that if I give my emotions freedom to really express they pull up what the dream was about, and then it is so clear it is a wonderful release.

Dream Interpretation / Re: Snake Dream
« on: January 06, 2011, 01:08:13 PM »
Well Patie – You are bent on crucifying your snake.

I think it is worth giving you more information about the snake as a part of YOU! You have what is called the Reptilian Brain and includes the brain stem and the cerebellum. It carries our genetically transmitted ‘instinctive’ behaviour such as suckling at the breast as a baby, aggressive response as with and including territorial defensiveness, the courtship and mating behaviours in reproduction. One of the best known expressions of this brain is the ‘flight or fight’ response in survival situations. This part of your brain deal with behaviour that is either innate, as described above, is learned and has become habitual, or is a conditioned response. If it is habitual we can repeat it without having to learn it or be very aware of how we do it – as with riding a bicycle or driving a car once we have mastered the skill. To read more see http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/brain-levels-and-dreams/

Now this is a big one to move the earth, and it is obviously heading your way. The panic you feel is you getting in touch with your fight and flight mechanism, and it is worth telling yourself to calm down, as it is not a monster trying to get you, but a very necessary part of you that civilised life has not helped you to deal with. You will not be a whole person until you can meet and tame this snake.

I know that sounds wrong but I have met this again and again with people – after all, how can we avoid it seeing it is a part of our brain and mind. It wants to get into your house – your body and mind – and to keep it out will cause all manner of struggles with fear, sexual feelings and your own strength. Obviously at first it will feel frightening, because we have been raised in a way to keep out such strong and primal feelings. So if you can, feel your feelings and grow.

Questions about dreams / Re: No dreams

Thank you so much for sharing what you have with me.

And dreams and the path they show can be hard, but they did this to clear out the rubbish we have left in our way. I have been led through hell and high water, and it has enriched me enormously. Just take one step at a time. A wise figure in my dreams told me that I do not have to struggle and do all manner of 'disciplines' to grow, what it said was that life itself is the greatest teacher, and face each thing as well as I could - and looking back I didn't do all that well - but here I am.

Dream Interpretation / Re: Dating
« on: January 05, 2011, 12:32:18 PM »
Brittany – Obviously you are feeling uncertain about the guy. But such dreams are very difficult to be certain about.

The reason is that sometime we have a very real signal of what is going on. But at other times the dream is simply a reflection of your own uncertainty and fear of not being loved.

And in any case, you say you have not been officially dating this guy. And presumably you are doing the same. So why get jealous or upset. Remember that such feeling come from a baby’s level of love, and can cause havoc if you let them run wild. Aim for independence and a form of unconditional love. Dream Interpretation / Re: Rain following me

Zackmsia - First of all, how would you describe what it is like to be wet and constantly rained on? If you can see that you have an idea what the dream is telling you.

My own feeling is that this is like a low level feeling of depression, or discomfort. You dream it maybe because you think it is normal to feel like that, or haven’t realised.

It might help to confront the dream and ask it why it is showing you this, and ask it for understanding of why. If you understand where it is coming from it can help you leave it behind.

Tony

Slightlylost – We all get lost sometimes, even though you love your son.

Of course these are not metal bullets you fired, but remarks, or criticisms that have maybe wounded him, or certainly your dream son. And there is a difference between the real son and your dream son.

Perhaps this is about things you have said or done that have wounded your son – in the neck, a sign of held back feelings or words – but it could be about what you feel about your son – your dream son. If it is your dream son, ask yourself what characteristic you see him expressing. That is what he represents in you. That is what you have certainly wounded and caused to hold back on his/your feelings and words.

Sometimes we do not know the tone of voice we says things in, a tone that can wound. So ask your son and yourself if you ever says things in a tone of voice that upsets him/the inner you. Such words are like bullets.

Dream Interpretation / Re: being a baby would like to know it means
« on: January 05, 2011, 11:08:28 AM »
Rathgrn – This appears to me like one of those dreams in which you look at yourself in the mirror of your dreams and see a representation of an aspect of who you are.

But the question is, although you enjoyed the feelings of being a baby, did your mother try to keep you in that state for as long as she could? Did your father encourage you to play the game so your mother would not ‘lose’ her baby?

The dream shows you going into the sleep state, and in that state you wake up to the fact of being strapped in a car/care seat. And it is not you at the driving wheel, suggesting in this dream you are subject to another person’s/father’s motivations. Then you go along with the game.

If there is any truth in this, something that would be helpful to define is what habits were put in place in your behaviour or responses? I have found that every childhood situation or life setting leaves habits that we might not be aware of, and might be usefully changed.

There may be some helpful hints in the feature http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/crazy-as-a-jaybird-sane-reasons-for-some-crazy-behaviour/.
