Hi Midlander - There is a small explanation about having a dialogue with different dream characters.

See Peer Dream Group and scroll down ot the heading Have a dialogue between two characters or objects.

I hope this helps, but if not tell me as I always want to improve the site and I will write a longer piece.

Dream Interpretation / Re: Sparring with the Devil
« on: October 06, 2010, 12:41:36 PM »
Well Amenti – Thank you for the blessing. Received and returned.

I think here is the answer to your question: “When I stand in front of the mirror, I cast no reflection on it. But my friends do. So I hear myself say that "The devil is doing this to the mirror cos I am fighting to get rid of him."”

In the best of Hindu and Christian traditions, you are the Devil because at your Core you are everything. In Hindu there is the saying, “You are That” – or “I am That.” THAT being the Divine.

In Christian belief we are told, to quote: “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

As an image of God you are everything.

And that is why your dream did the little trick of showing you without reflection in the mirror. Once you realise that dreams create an external reality of our inner world, then an aspect of you becomes exteriorised. As in past ages this was a world that people lived in, they made the Devil and God as exterior to themselves instead of realising the truth about themselves. That we are all, in our core, the divine.

Having watched a person meet the devil in their dream exploration, what they arrived at is very helpful in understanding your dream devil. She saw that her lack of self esteem, her self doubts and depression were like an open door that allowed destructive feelings and fears to enter. These attitudes or feelings may have been inherited from ones recent or ancestral family. She saw these as portrayed as the Devil.

Dream Interpretation / Re: Open door, children, books & reading
« on: October 04, 2010, 01:55:07 PM »
Romanov – The walking through the long passage has a feeling of going somewhere, of being in-between where you are leaving and where you will arrive. Obviously this is a picture of you at the moment, looking for meaningful occupation.

The open door doesn’t in fact open fully, but just gives you an insight into a possibility – a room. Then the children talk about a relationship that they are still too young – emotionally to follow through on.

But it is the book that is open before you – perhaps the book of your life, projecting forward into the future. So I feel you need to imagine yourself back in your dream at that point and see if you can see any of the story it portrays. See the title Carry the dream forward in the feature http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/processing-dreams/

PS And thank you for your comments on Dream Dictionary. I did put a lot into the book, and am still trying to improve it

Hi Midlander – This is a difficult one, but it is obviously about relationship that you could recognise would not work.

Maybe there is a clue in the name Mary. The old guy, Joseph married the young girl Mary and couldn’t or didn’t father the child. So she had a virgin birth. But such stories are actually fables, that need to be understood. Joseph worked with wood, the already grown – the intellect. As your dream suggests, more interested in organising and getting things right, all typical of an intellectual approach. Mary, as a young girl represents someone who is not conditioned by pre-conceived ideas. In effect she is a virgin ready to receive something special.

So if we consider that your dream has a little of that in, it certainly doesn’t suggest the old man and the young girl getting together. Also I think you may be looking at this from an intellectually analytical viewpoint. And maybe the young girl has a lot of possibilities that you could mature with some patience. Maybe even to a virgin birth of wonderful new possibilities, when you let go of preconceived ideas.

As I said, this is a difficult one, so what I have said is more of me trusting my feelings than having a clear insight.

Dream Interpretation / Re: My Mother Died
« on: October 04, 2010, 01:06:03 PM »
Dear Bahs – This might be a way you are preparing for her departure. It doesn’t mean she is dying right away, but that you are getting ready for it. For instance when a parent dies you realise you are next on the list to go. So it can take some adjustment. And this one dream is just an approach to your mother’s death.

Hi Len - Of course one of the things to note about dreams are that they are like a mirror. They reflect back to you in their images and drama mostly what you are feeling and even fearing.

So your implacable contestant might only what you feel, and is not there for all time. Change your approach to yourself and the whole thing changes.

Well Saintaluna – A beach, especially such a beautiful one is a special place. That it is bathed in sunlight also says how much life there is here. So I really feel this about a meeting that will take place. The person will be someone with whom you will have a very big connection. That is has already been arranged suggest it is someone you new from the long past, and have made a pact to meet again.

Dream Interpretation / Re: Having a baby
« on: October 04, 2010, 10:43:07 AM »
Isabella – An interesting dream.

Well your baby seems to be very special. Now this can either be a presentiment that you will have a special child, but more likely that you are going through giving birth to a new part of you that is growing very fast. By ‘new part’ I mean that each of us are all the time developing, and we have an enormous potential, and the new part is something special coming into your life.

That the child is half Asian and has blue hair means that this new ability you are growing has to do with the intuitive side of your nature, so this suggests that you are linked with, or the new you will link with influences of a subtle or spiritual nature. So it may be that this will connect you with a power greater than you already have entering your life.

Dream Interpretation / Re: Are these random or connected?
« on: October 01, 2010, 04:28:30 PM »
Well Midlander – There are several things I would liked to have known to make things clear. Are you a woman – I am supposing you are. Is the man in dream B someone you know in waking or is it a dream male?

Anyway I feel the dreams are related and there is a theme running through. So I am calling the dream sequence, “Icing but no Cake”.

You say you are involved in funerals, but it is taking place in your own house – but a strange one. This suggests it had a personal message, ‘near to home’ as the saying goes. You are used to dealing with death, but I suppose part of your work is to assure the death is made final and everyone leaves. But in your dream the funeral/death is in your sitting room, so this is in your living space, the coffin in still there and the people did not leave. All this suggests to me there is something that has died, maybe a relationship, something in your life that has now gone – but yet isn’t finished yet. Not neatly tied up and disposed of. I cannot tell what that is, but from what follows I think it is a relationship.

The meal of a curry seems to me to be a relationship that either has a sexual connection, or you would like it to. In any case I believe it is about competition between you and another woman. As you say you see he is more interested in you.

And then the monster that is after you and you need to escape from is an emotion. Look I am guessing, but it could be the monster of jealousy, and the ruined building probably has something linking with the funeral, the undealt with death situation that you are trying to escape from – maybe escaping by ignoring it.

The salt suggests the subtle qualities you bring to your activities that transform them from empty trivialities into meaning or give them zest. There is certainly a problem here, though not a big one, that needs attention. You need to spice your relationship up to give it the energy to get going.

Jake – I doubt very much that you are having the same dream as this beautiful girl – the reason is that she is the feminine part of yourself. See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/archetype-of-the-anima-the-female-in-the-male/

I know that doesn’t feel right, but having been through trying to find such a woman, it took me a long time to figure the truth. And the truth is, as far as truth is explainable in words, that we are all mixed sexes. So you have nipples, and women have a tiny penis hidden usually out of sight – the clitoris. Our dreams are forever trying to get us toward our wholeness.

Now in our dreams, if we get beyond seeing them as frightening, or as a reflection of physical life, we have no gender, and can be either sex, or something else. But because in our body we are only half of ourselves – only male or female – we constantly search for what is missing – our female or male self. This causing an awful lot of suffering because we go and fall in love with a woman who we feel in our soul mate. What we are looking for in such women is the female principle which we have lost.

But in our dreams we go in search of it and can actually find it and become whole again – though it is not easily gained. Remember the story of the Sleeping Beauty. The prince has to cut his way through brambles to get through. He sees that many others have died in the attempt. Then when he kisses the sleeping princess she wakes and they marry. In other words the dreamed of lover was woken from the unconscious and they become one. See https://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/what-is-the-unconscious/

Like you, I could never quite make her mine. In one dream I couldn’t get into the place we could marry. In another I didn’t have the right qualities. But I eventually managed it. Only then could I begin to love an actually woman. But since then I was led to meet her - see https://dreamhawk.com/dream-dictionary/tree-trees/#Spirit

So I wish you God’ speed in your quest for love. See a description of a small part of my own journey http://dreamhawk.com/relationship-sex/the-bliss-of-becoming-one/

Dream Interpretation / Re: Running in Fear
« on: September 29, 2010, 11:44:47 AM »
Ana – You are mixing up your waking life with your dream self. Nothing can kill you or harm you in your dreams. What happens is that we run in panic from our own fears and emotions. And because we are avoiding our fears, they can chase us forever.

When you felt a change in your dream, it was because the intensity of your fear lessened. If you faced the fear it would change into a scene of beauty – believe me I have done it.

Please see https://dreamhawk.com/dream-dictionary/masters-of-nightmares/

I know that if you use some of what is said you can dream a new life.

A man exploring his dream of seeing someone murdered, said:

In ‘being’ the dead body in the dream the man said, “But it wasn’t until I got into the role of the dead body that any depth of feelings emerged.  Almost as soon as I was in the role of the dead body I began to think about and feel things connected with the way I had killed my sexuality as a teenager.  Gradually these feelings deepened and I was describing my feeling hatred in regard to sexuality and how the masses were pulled along by their genitals into some sort of conformity and performance.  I felt anger and loathing for what I felt at the time were the cattle human beings were. At the time I despised and hated them.  I also felt repugnance at the way people talked about sex or appeared to enjoy it.  It has to be understood that in that period in history in the UK, most of sex was depicted in terms of smut, dirt, animal desire, hidden pornography, or loveless fucking.   I wept deeply, at times hardly able to breathe, with the pain of seeing what I had done to myself.  I said sorry over and over.  I saw that I need not have killed my love and sexuality, but could have expressed it in a tender and loving way.

So ask yourself, "What do I feel is being killed in my, or what am I murdering in myself by suppressing or being terrified of." The man was using https://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/acting-on-your-dream/#BeingPerson

Wow ADR – This a really wonderful dream. I wonder what you have been doing to bring such a dream to you. Have you been meditating or thinking about the future or the meaning of Life?

It has a similar opening to a very impressive dream I had some years ago. And that turned out to be a message about predicting the future – or at least suggestions about possible outcomes.

So your dream has all the marks of such a dream, and it is even spelled out for you in the email. I believe many people are having such dreams about transformation, as it is very special times we live in. That you are one of those who is warned in a dream shows you can go on from here. So it feels like a real turning point for you, and one that will involve you in the coming changes we all face.

But remember this is from deep inside you and usually takes awhile to show on the ‘surface’.

Dream Interpretation / Re: Being attacked by a samurai with a big knife
« on: September 26, 2010, 01:10:20 PM »
Hi Len - Quite an opponent you have dreamed up.

Two ideas or images come to mind. The first is that the blood on the Samurai blood is very similar to being blood brothers in another culture. Also I have come across another 'dream' in which a conflict went on forever without resolving - as yours promised to do - and in that one the dreamer realised there could be no resolution to this and gave up by throwing down his sword. The result was a wonderfully change in the dreamer. In fact a new life.

Also you cannot be killed in a dream. All you can experience is the anguish and perhaps fear of dying, but in dreams you cannot die - or drown, or burn or any other threatening thing. We make the mistake of taking our very real values from our outer life into our inner life of dreams. So it will do you no harm to throw down your sword and challenge your opponent to do his worst. That is a very powerful thing to do. Or you could realise that actually a dream is a very real virtual reality all created by your feelings, thoughts and fears, and so you could see your opponent as an exteriorisation of yourself and draw him back into you and gain his power.

Anyway, what an amazing dream. No fear or running - just watching and reacting.

As far as interpreting the dream - I feel you have been influenced by Japanese culture, and in the Samurai opponent you are meeting your more daring and strong self. What will you do with all the fire and power? There is something about family here to, as swords can be passed down through many generations. So ask yourself what is passing down to you.
