How to stop a reoccuring dream?

I know that seems almost impossible haha..but I mean any insights.
I know there's not much details about the dream, I apologize, I seriously can't recall much of the information, just only the basic. Last night was the third time (spaced out in months) that I've had a dream about my mother hitting me and it pissed me off, and when I woke up I was still angry. I know a lot of it probably has to deal with the fact that I don't have the greatest relationship with her and also in my culture hitting a child is a form of discipline which I received a lot as a kid. Anyways, I'm at the point in my life where I'm kind of trying to put water under the bridge with some of the things my mother did back then, and these dreams just keep bringing back my anger about what happened in my childhood and making this process hard. Any insights much appreciated.

Sammysay – The best way to stop these dreams is to either imagine expressing your anger on your mother. Imagine yourself in the dream where she is hitting you and express what you feel in your imagination.

This is perfectly safe to do as long as it is imagination. It is very important to note whether any anger or hostility is in the dream but not fully expressed. If so, let yourself imagine a full expression of the anger. It may be that as this is practiced more anger is openly expressed in subsequent dreams.
