This has me stumped
« on: December 21, 2013, 06:25:36 AM »
I could see myself swimming and I saw a treasure chest at the bottom of where I was swimming (must have been a lake or something). I decide to open it, so I swim down and do so. Around here the environment becomes dry land. Inside of the treasure chest is a white necklace (that I think might have been plastic) with a cross pendant. The necklace part was beads and the cross was blank (no Jesus figure on it). I put the necklace on. The other thing inside was a human skull. I take it out and lift it up and look up and see the Virgin Mary floating in the air, though I thought she was Santa Muerte at first (while questioning it and wondering later on, she suddenly grew a pregnant belly, so I figured that answered my question). Anyway, when I saw her it scared me.

After she was on the ground she took me to some place. No place I recognized and it was kind of strange looking to me. Sort of like weirdly straight, over-sized tree roots. 3 of them, with large empty spaces between them that went downward, I think. Anyhow, I've got a spade now and I dig a small, shallow hole in the ground in front of this place she has taken me. I put the skull in the hole with the necklace around it. I was basically burying these things (near as I could tell), but the hole wasn't very deep so they were not really covered. For some reason burying these things scared me.

Then the Virgin Mary shoved me some place else. She seemed rather angry with me, generally. Then she held a baby out to me. Sometimes the baby had a hole in it. In the trunk part of it's body. Not sure it scared me when the baby was whole, but it did when there was a hole in it. An adult Jesus formed beside the baby, I think to indicate to me who the baby was.

In the last part, the Virgin Mary took my right hand and held it against the ground. Lots of things seemed angry from her.

If it helps, we were outside in nature.

Erebos - Wow a very big dream. It starts with you making an effort to explore your inner world - diving down. See http://dreamhawk.com/inner-life/inner-world/

This does not appear to be very difficult for you to do. The treasure chest is the first thing you find. As is usual in any entrance to ones inner world, you meet both feelings and experience of death and new life - Santa Muerte and Virgin Mary. See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/the-archetype-of-death/

The inner world is one of duality - the inner world of sleep and the outer world of having a waking personality. The cross is both a symbol of Christian meeting with death and resurrection (new life) and also the whole person, because the cross is a very old symbol long before Christianity used it.

Then you meet the roots of your own existence, and the skull is what preceded your present life. You didn't suddenly appear out of nowhere. Every seed has a long history of other seeds preceding it. If you can explore your dream you may experience this past for yourself, because dreams are doorways to out whole self, not just the little you. You were burying the memory of your past - it is common, because most of us cannot even remember our own childhood or birth. Of course it scared you to bury your past - it is fear that causes such forgetfulness. The virgin was angry with you because she is the power within you that can give birth to the holy, the memory of who you are and the wonder of the life it offers you. See  http://dreamhawk.com/dream-dictionary/virgin/ and  http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/dreams-see-into-our-far-past/

Then you have an experience of your whole self - the baby and the Christ. They are all symbols of you. See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-dictionary/practical-techniques-for-understanding-your-dreams/
