2 lizards dream
« on: February 12, 2015, 03:44:02 AM »
I was in England, though the scene was outside my girlfriends apartment building in the the canary islands. I was with some old friends, I think maybe childhood friends. Suddenly a large lizard ran past us and jumped up a fence and then over and was gone. I or one of my friends said that there cant be lizards here in England its too cold. Then as if to emphasize the point it started pouring down with rain. Suddenly another lizard appeared, it ran though a puddle and instead of landing half way up the fence, like the first. This one cleared the fence from a distance and was gone. I think the fence was too high to see beyond it.

Mernel  :)

As I see it, the lizard is a symbol of your flight response. Please see http://dreamhawk.com/dream-dictionary/lizard/ and http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/conditioned-reflexes-or-responses/

Since you believe you are in England and the Canary islands, it shows this response was a part of your childhood and is still "up and running"  ;)
I see it that as a child you ran from a situation which you perceived as cold.

I wonder if you have transformed it into a (more) helpful response now, because I see the rain and the lizard going through the puddle as a sign of growth or cleaning?

I think it will be helpful to try being the lizard http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/acting-on-your-dream/#BeingPerson for it is not clear (anymore) what it is running from nor where it is running to.
Perhaps you can have a look beyond the fence as well?
I would wonder what is beyond that fence  :)

Anna :-)

Mernel - Another point is that you were still feeling you were in the waking state of awareness, and dreams are experienced in a completely different world. In the world of dreams you can walk naked through the arctic and not be frozen. See http://dreamhawk.com/approaches-to-being/questions-2/#Summing

Maybe the lizard was trying to demonstrate something, for all dream creatures share our own intelligence. So ask yourself what you would feel if you realised you were dreaming.
