Strange sign?
« on: December 05, 2016, 02:36:28 AM »
First of all I should mention I'm from oz and have never visited USA, and that I only just stumbled across this site attempting to make sense of this dream.

The dream took place outside (in the back field of my grandparents farm to be exact) I was lying face down across a shaymans/medicine mans lap ( hope I've spelt it right?) and he was giving me a healing massage and speaking in another language.

Anyways, that finishes and me and two other people are sitting in a semi circle across from this guy ( he is in a full get up, face pain feathers very traditional looking) and he starts reciting a spell (for lack of a better word) for the two people with me...  no hiccups, though every time he gets to me and starts chanting the fire would blow out, this happens twice, he looked confused almost concerned, when I asked why this kept happening to me, he started speaking to me though his mouth is moving i can't hear his voice.

Then I woke up, I won't lie felt pretty glum.

Tee – What made you mention USA? I am in UK – Wales actually. I see you live in Sydney – I’ve been there, along with Melbourne.

The Shaman’s confusion was interesting. To quote from the entry on Shaman, “Dreaming of a shaman or medicine man shows you have pierced the bubble of the rational world we often live or are trapped by and have entered a more basic and extended world of ancient people. It can be a world or a state of mind in which you find wisdom or healing.”

But all the images, people, animals, places we see in our dreams, are simply your own feelings, fears, hopes and wonder projected onto the screen of your sleeping mind as images. So, it makes sense to take the image of your dream person, thing, or animal back into you and own it. In that way, you are actually meeting and dealing with the things about yourself you are not owning or conscious of. That is why dreams are often difficult to understand, because we are hiding things from ourselves. To do this you can use http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/acting-on-your-dream/#BeingPerson

The shaman is your own inner ability to sense or see beyond the obvious. The fact you cannot hear is because you are not quiet enough. In other words, your personality is not used to listening for or to the subtle promptings form within. To learn how to do that you could use the above link or http://dreamhawk.com/approaches-to-being/opening-to-life/

Hi tony,
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply.

I hope you enjoyed your time here, I guess I mentioned my location more to stress that dreaming of a American Indian Shayman is unusual. I know in dreams we are always experience things we never had anything to do with... but this just stayed with me.

Thanks for your input, and I really agree with your answer you are so wise and spiritual, hopefully I can slow down and really listen to what is going on around me.

Tee - Yes, I loved Melbourne, a beautiful city.

A thought that stuck with me, meeting the 'old timers', is that we have so many Western films about the pioneers in America, but I met and talked long to some of the pioneers of Australia - they really need a bigger mention, because their stories are remarkable and fascinating.

Please read http://dreamhawk.com/stories/the-story-behind-the-steel/ But I started to write the novel but haven't been able to finisih it http://dreamhawk.com/stories/the-steel/
