Fire Fire station

More than anything else fire represents the process of life. Just as all living things do, fire needs to be fed to remain alive. So a fire burning low could show your life process at a low ebb.

A fire in dreams represent destroying the old, what was alive or lived in the past, and releasing their energy. The fire is the growing power within you consuming old forms of living.

Fire can also represent passion; sexuality; anger; desire; burning feelings such as resentment or frustration; our desire to destroy.

Fire can show the process of growth or change in us that radically alters our old dependencies and viewpoints. Fire completely alters much of what it touches, so can depict big changes. Beacon fires were also signs of warning or of something important happening.

It can indicate, depending on the rest of the dream, an emergency or calamitous change.

Our life process, often described as a flame which burns forever through different generations but leaves only ash behind. Like the fire, to exist our being burns other life forms as its fuel. Thus it destroys yet gives life, so is linked with our vital energy. We have the fire of life within us, we eat and feed the fire that consumes what we eat. It is the warmth of our body, the warmth, even passion, of our emotions and that is life – continuous through death.

Fire occasionally refers to physical illness or a warning of it.

House burnt down: Big changes in yourself and your attitudes; leaving old standards or dependencies behind or a sign of sickness.

The fireplace: Homeliness; the womb.

Underground flames: Unconscious emotions or desires which one may need to face for real growth. Illness that has not come to awareness yet.

Fire in the sky: Great changes in viewpoint; meeting the next step in maturity. Artemidorus said fire in the sky meant war or famine. For the Africans a bush fire meant war.

Fire going out or a cold burnt out fire: Suggests your life is low or showing illness. A fire out can indicate either a love or relationship that no longer has any warmth in it, or a life that was lived and is now only ashes.

Fire Station:  The central ability to deal with deal with destructive influences in you; and the power of using the life energy that can either injure or uplift.

Firewood: Gathering firewood may be to light the inner fire. More than anything else fire represents the process of life. Just as all living things do, fire needs to be fed to remain alive. We eat and breath to keep the fire alive – and if a huge part of you is only just waking up it needs feeding. Fire can also show the process of growth or change in us that radically alters our old dependencies and viewpoints. Fire completely alters much of what it touches, so can depict big changes.

Example: ‘I was in a small terraced house with a friend I had known years earlier. It was her house, there were two or three children in it. Suddenly, it caught fire, I wanted to stay and put the fire out but she did not. She dragged me outside and down the street. We saw the house burn down. I had this dream the day I got home from hospital, after undergoing a hysterectomy.’ Mrs G.

Here the fire depicts the consuming feelings of loss regarding Mrs G’s child bearing function. Also the loss of an area or era of her life.

Example: ‘I found quite a large old fire place. I asked my husband if he would like a fire. I thought it would be cosy if we both enjoyed the fire together. Woke up with warm feeling towards my husband, he reached out to me.’ Dinah Y.

Here fire is not only home making and human warmth, but also sexuality.

Idioms: Too hot to handle; you burn me up; old flame; the burning bush.

Useful questions and hints:

How is the fire portrayed in the dream?

Does it represent passion, burning love or consuming emotional fever of some kind?

Is it about purifying past hurts or mistakes?

Could this imply transformation of something?

Is this possibly a warning of illness?

I had this dream last night that I was standing with a group of people at night. We hear this loud explosion and see a smoke cloud and fire in the mountains. It comes raging down the mountain to the valley below. We scramble to get the horses safe. Trying to make my way through trees and cornstalks, I see the horses, but unable to touch them. I start breaking thick rubber like bands to free them. They all get out safe. The group of people and I go up the mountain to see what started the fire. Upon going up, I see this old native american man with white hair. He is wearing black pants and a purple shirt. There is a smoke cloud next to him on the ground. The group im with, insist on harming/killing the old man. The old man disappears, then reappears in a different spot up the rocky mountain side. At every turn, the old man is standing there, watching, not saying a word as we drive up the mountain road.
What does this mean???

Tony, Happy Holidays to you!!! I wish you well. I had a dream last night of a friend of mines children the younger ones specifically. a 14 year old boy a 9 year old girl , an 7 year old boy, and a 8, year old girl. I have know the woman and her children since my daughter was 6 years old. I grew close to her and her children and for some reason her younger children were not able to flee from a fire that occurred in an apartment they lived in. I only remember certain parts of the dream .I was visiting the apartment talking with her boyfriend at the time and listening to music I think when some kind of explosion occurred I remember saying something to the effect its going to explode and running out of apartment the younger kids were in the back rooms and were not able to get out and only the 4 older kids were able to run out with the clothes on their back as we were running I asked the woman where is (Kennith my godson) she said the fireman carried him out and he didn’t make it I broke down for a few days and cried . I took it hard the parents were not as hurt and affected as I was for some reason.

Hints on your dream – You revisited within you the feelings of loss you experienced with your friend losing her children in a fire.

Your dream carries this forward to use in the feeling of losing your godson. It seems you have an intuition of an explosion going to happen in your life, and it involves a vulnerable part of you. An explosion can relate to growth or destruction that can occur from the unconscious which may destroy all we have built in our conscious self as Life readies us for change and growth.

The godson might be about him, but is more likely concerned with the inner godson you carry within you. When you think about a child or a person you meet, you are only taking in your thoughts, impressions, and feelings about them. So many people do not realise that they have an inner child equally as powerful as the external person you know. You have taken in millions of bits of memory, lessons learnt, life experiences along with all the feelings or problems met by meeting or living with them, and they are what makes you the person you are. The memories and experience we gather unconsciously change us and are not lost. It is part of you and is symbolised in dreams as a person or event.

I had a dream were i was in a horror game (slender man) i haven’t played it in months. I was walking around the forest. I wasn’t the only one playing, there were more people, but we were all separated and lost in the thick fog, it was daytime, but the sun could not be seen, only dead trees and the gray fog.
I then got injured in the arm, i could a bit of red. I suddenly remembered that there was a tree that could heal you, and just after that, a red arrow from the game (which looked like a blood stain) guided me towards it. I touched the dead tree, and as expected, it healed me. After that, i realised that there was no one around, i tried to look for them, but i couldn’t, i had the feeling that they were no longer there, so i decided to keep searching for the exit.
After lots of searching, i saw a door in one of the forest’s rock formations, i thought it might be the exit, so i opened it. It wasn’t the exit, in fact, it was the Slenderman’s room, and he was sleeping in his really big bed (he even had a sleeping hat!) and just beside his bed, there was another smaller bed with a bearded man in it, he was sleeping too.
I got inside, and decided to look for an exit in the room, until i saw a wood basement door (it also looked pretty old) i had a feeling that that was the exit, but it made me a bit nervous, so i started heading back, when all of a sudden, the bearded man gets up from his bed extremely quickly, it nearly gave me a heart attack. I ran towards the basement door and got in, it turns out it was the exit, i was so happy, it was a beautiful night, i was in a highway and the city could be seen from a few miles, suddenly someone took my wrist and pulled towards some barrels, it was the heavily bearded man, he said he wanted to help, and told me: “You have to be smart, even if you got out, he’ll still hunt you down”. I agreed with him, and asked him what should i do, i had no idea. He then ripped a really thick branch of a tree with his bare hands and light it up, he threw it to the ‘horror game’ and instead of burning slowly, the intense red and orange flames shot up to a gigantic size really quickly. I thought everything was over, but then i saw The Slenderman getting out of the game. The other guy took my hand and ran towards the city. Then we started jumping through the buildings, like a ninja. The Slenderman kept chasing us, but then the sunrise came, and the faceless creature (i really don’t want to call it a monster) disappeared. The bearded man left me in my cousin’s house and told me i was safe in there. I just started to wonder around the house.

I just recently had a dream about nothing at first, everything was all black. Then a floating skull that was on fire slowly came towards me. When it finally got close to me it screamed and disappeared after saying nothing but” Monday the 10th”. I have had dreams similar to this before, but not since I was a child. When I had one as a child, it warned me of my great grandmother passing. Three days later, she had died in her sleep. Is this dream another warning, but for my death this time, maybe?
Please reply.
Thank you.

My wife told me when she was younger and was in a bad relationship with her ex; she often dreamt the same dream. She can’t really remember any details but she told me she was a black girl (she is Caucasian) chained to a pier feeling like a slave, gasping for air just above the surface of the water. And the surrounding was an inferno/fire. What do you think that meant? Thanks!

I had a dream that really moved me. I was inside an old wooden large house that was very well kept for its age. I was inside it in a long room that only had candles in it. It was dark but I could still see. I was a witch, and was lighting candles using my mind by pointing my finger at them or blowing towards them. I had the feeling of still being very new at using this skill. I also floated up to the wall and lit a candle. I was aware of a woman probably my mother who was also in the house but could not see me, I could sense her disapproval. And felt that she was also a witch but had been for much longer than I and was better at it. I felt a sence of doing something wrong by using witchcraft, but I was fascinated by it and wanted to learn more. Then I was walking along the facade of the wooden house and was at peace and thought the wood was beautiful. Wondering if you could interperate this for me. Thanks

Hi, I had a dream last night that I had traveled with a group of people, including a lover, someplace lovely, perhaps in Europe. I was no longer interested in the lover and another man and I had a connection so we began a romance. This new man was sensitive and cool, and we got on quite well. At one point, I fell behind the group and he waited for me as the rest of the group rowed in boats across a river or lake. We went together. At the other side, the group and he and I walked a bit. While he and I fell behind, we saw a house explode into flames in the night sky. And we ran. Happy holidays!

Well Luminous Tiffany – I am not sure about retrograde Mercury, but the planet of good fortune, Jupiter, is in my sign until the middle of June; and the first half of 2012 is characterized by personal growth, insight and material good fortune. So here I am.

It seems like a return to a childhood situation – Virginia – set in motion something that shook you up. It was actually a return to a situation, but very often old patterns of behaviour surface for review or integration. In this case you were trying to contact an old family heritage – your grandmother’s sister – which is probably part of your behaviour pool. We all know now that we have a gene pool which is from our family, but very few people realise that we inherit a whole lot of behaviours from our family – the behavioural pool. Sometimes this goes back generations.

But you didn’t succeed in making it conscious. But that led you to take a flight. To climb aboard a plane is to embark upon dramatic movement from one way of life, or one situation in life, to another; a leap into the unknown, into chance – so it is a powerful symbol of change. And in fact you did, but you lost awareness, a dramatic action, perhaps to avoid feeling or seeing something.

But you met and experienced the effects of it. Have you felt anything of the panic in waking life? The ordeal would have left you feeling less confident about ‘standing’ and being positive in outer life.

You recent dream about the house bursting into flames shows you as a very passionate woman; and such passions can knock you about unless you understand the. So the two men in the dream, is there still an uncertainty, because this, with so much passions about could be what this dream is about. But there is so much I cannot go into it all – the young boy and the grandmother – she is obviously trying to communicate that she is giving you something of value, a resource that you can use – back to the ancestors and their heritage they leave you. Take time with this part of the dream as it could unfold a lot more for you. Try imagining yourself as your grandmother and speak or act as she does in the dream.

    Tony

Tony – wow. Thank you so much for taking the time to provide such insight. I deeply appreciate it.

To answer your question about whether I have experienced any panic in waking life, yes and no. I have had some very emotional days lately where I feel lost, and I have tried to be very honest with myself about my life, my situation, my goals. I found that I was very non-attached to specific outcomes and so that it made it very difficult to know what I wanted. I suppose non-attachment is not a bad state but for me, I decided I need to take steps towards more financial independence, and so I will be starting a new job as a financial advisor soon. This is a big life change (yet again as my life has been characterized by major changes and transformations. It is my theme 😉 and I left a similar job two years ago because I was very unhappy and wanted to take time to reflect and experience a more creative and artistic life. The reality is that only time will reveal the answers to some of the questions I have, such as about my relationship with the man I have dated for awhile now. Which brings me to your next question about the uncertainty. And the answer is, yes there is still indecision but I feel the same non-attachment to the possible outcomes of that as well. I feel like everything in my life is kind of 50/50 right now – the relationship, the career, whether I will actually finish and sell my book, etc.

I was extremely close to my grandmother, she was more of a mother to me than my own mother (her daughter who died when I was 18, 13 years ago). My grandmother, great grandmothers, and grandfather were all intuitive to varying degrees. Her side of the family is very religious, I am spiritual myself, but then for them their religion is their own spirituality and the are decent and kind people. Of course I know that if I asked my grandmother’s sisters, they would advise me to follow God. Which would mean that the man I am living with would not be their choice of a mate for me, as he is a staunch atheist, in stark contrast to the very spiritual other.

Jupiter in Taurus! 0 degrees right now, which is in my 2nd house. I am a Libra (barely, within hours of Virgo), Aquarius rising, Pisces moon in house 1, Mars conj Uranus in Scorpio/house 9, Mercury conj Pluto in Libra/house 8, Saturn conj Sun in Libra/house 7 at 0 degrees. Venus and north node in Leo. 🙂 Clearly I know more about astrology than dream interpretation! Which leads me back to where this comment (letter?) began – gratitude for you and for what you share. Thank you Tony, very much. 🙂 I will try to imagine myself as Grandma and see what I receive. Wishing you a very happy Jupiter/Sun transit and holiday season. 🙂
