Maggot Maggots
Life or effects in your life, that have sprung from parts of yourself that are no longer growing or properly given life. The effects however, are usually efforts on the part of nature to cleanse, heal or deal with the situation. As an example, if there is a great deal of tension on the neck due to held back emotions, a dream might portray this dis-ease as an area full of maggots.
Maggots might also appear in a dream where there are fears about death or disease. This is because maggots often represent the negative view there is of death as the final decay. See: Corruption.
Impurities in body; sickness or sense of illness in the body; sense of corruption; feelings about death.
We are buffeted, torn by all the fears, angers, hates, prejudices human beings are heir to. There’s no creator we are told by our pundits. We are only maggots. There is no life after death.
Possible need to cleanse body of toxins or infection, or a sense of dis-ease emotionally in that area of self; something, like a fear or resentment, eating away at one. It could also indicate a decay or part of you lacking life, something ‘eating away at you’. Remember that maggots only live on rotting things. Because of this they are sometimes used on humans to eat rotten flesh. As soon as they have eaten all the sick flesh the maggots drop off.
The unconscious telling us that a part of our attitudes is not wholesome or ‘well’. So repressed emotions causing tension in the chest might be represented as maggots. The secret witnessed in dreams is that if you dare stop running from these emotions and cut-out cartoons of death, with their maggots and rotting bodies, you will break through the screen the images are projected upon. The wondrous reality of life will be waiting for you there, ready to share the love and transformation that lies in death. Dare to challenge the mirage.
Maggots in ones body: The unconscious telling us that a part of our attitudes is not wholesome or ‘well’. So repressed emotions causing tension in the chest might be represented as maggots. See: body; corruption.

Jennifer – Your face in dreams represent your own self image, your personality. Of course dreams tend to have a much deeper insight into who you are.
We often think of ourselves, our personality, as us, Me; but it is really what we have been told, experienced or taught about who we are and so is our own self image. And that is what your dream is saying, that there are a lot of holes/faults in how you see yourself. So much so that maggots are hatching.
So your efforts to squeeze them out shows you trying to get rid if this ‘dead’ part of your emotional life – for maggots only feed on dead flesh. It is painful because seeing who we are is often painful See https://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/life-beyond-change-and-pain/ – https://dreamhawk.com/approaches-to-being/opening-to-life/

Alex – If you are right handed, then you have been living in a way that you have not expressed or have held back your own inner strength, even the things you feel driven by a life giving feeling. If you are right handed this indicates your active outgoing self, your conscious and capable skills such as you express with this hand and arm. It is the part of you obvious to others and yourself, your strength or lack of it. Injury or malformation of this arm indicates inability to be creative and productive in the outer world. It shows problems regarding manifesting or making real, what you wish or will to do.

Hi, I came across your page while searching for answers. I read some of your responses to others dreams which was similar to mine but I think it’s best to get my own interpretation if possible. I have been struggling mentally/emotionally for a while now and have some deep rooted issues to deal with but I’ve been putting them off for sometime now. I have a fear of death and the thought of weathering away before fulfilling my life purpose. I’m not sure if I had a dream and forgot most of it while waking up but it was quite short or it could just be a thought I woke up with. There were maggots crawling out of the center of my head and I woke up scratching the exact spot which is very frightening. I wish I had more details but thats all I woke up with. But I recently celebrated by 28th year of life on this earth and I’m a female.
Wondering if you could help. I dreamt i had maggots coming out of an open wound on my head through my hair…. every time i combed they were there, everytime i moved my head they were there. Then they came out of what looked like a stab wound on my back… my friend was there laughing at my hysteria whilst my husband was frantically trying to calm me.
Please help.. thank you

Becky – It sounds as if it was your ‘friend’ who stabbed you. Not literally, but someone has put an awful idea or words in you that have festered into a bad feeling, shown as the maggots coming out of your head. Or was it something done to you?
Imagine reaching into you and pulling out handfuls of maggots until you get hold of the infected area, for maggots only feed on bad flesh, which once cleansed they go. Then throw it out. See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/secrets-power-dreaming/
so I had a dream recently when my blood supply to my forearm left and my skin was really fragile that I picked at my skin and I inside I saw what looks like maggots but they weren’t moving but my forearm felt like a beanbag and It not only scared me but it freaked me the hell out. I keep touching my arms now praying it doesn’t happen

Jennifer – Although you dream shows an awful situation with your physical arm, such dreams are nearly always not about your physical arm but about your ‘inner arm’.
Now you might not be aware that you have an inner arm, but our dream creator is very aware of our inner body. Inner arms are about your ability to love, give, take, create, defend, and reach out. Our arms, especially the arm we use most, can also represent all the struggle and effort we have put into life, what we have given and taken, what skills we have learned or created in the work and labour of life and love.
Your left inner arm – if you are right handed – is about those supportive qualities, those strengths and traits that express in daily life underlying and making possible the action of the right arm. In other words they are the loyalties, the care and strength of support, almost unconscious energy we put into what we do with our right hand and arm – our outer activities. The left arm is the qualities that support outer activities and relationships. In a certain way it represents confidence, the absence of which would undermine all the external things we would be trying to accomplish. So if you were writing with your right hand you might hold the pad you were writing on with left hand supporting what you did with your right hand.
So if I am right, your dream is showing that you have not put enough care into what you are doing with that arm. Maybe you are not supporting your activity or creativity enough, and so you dream arm is becoming none responsive through lack of use.
We are all dual in nature, and we have to give and take for a balanced life. See http://dreamhawk.com/approaches-to-being/opening-to-life/
Hi! Can you interpret my recent dream? I was watching a video about a dog having maggots. Later on I dreamt about maggots coming out from both of my legs, chest and arms and I’m taking them using my hands and squeezing the other ones who hasn’t come out. It really made me feel scared and worried 🙁
I dream that I saw maggots coming out of a baby’s butt and my cousin and another person wash it off but I was grossed out about it and I couldn’t look at it
Currently I have a sore on my leg, caused by me rubbing the skin off, because it was a mosquito bite. Anyway, in my dream I was showing my mom the sore on my leg and I noticed the scab was flaking off and what looked like a hole. I decided to look into the hole, and inside I found a bunch of white maggots eating away at my flesh. I’m scared to go back to sleep again because I really don’t want a dream like this to happen again. On the day of that dream was awful, I was feeling really depressed and lonely. Can you help me understand what this dream was about? Thank you.
Hi – The answers I give arise not out of me thinking up things to say, but from fifty years of exploring dreams in depth. So some of what I write may seem wild. This may be because dreams arise and are experienced by a level of your mind or awareness that very few people have any concept or experience of – usually called the unconscious. So their view of dreams arise from their thinking mind, a very different creature than the thing giving you Life. Life dreamt millions of years before even humankind awoke and developed self awareness – a very young and precocious child. So I try to describe what takes place in the deeps of you.
But it would help you to understand your dreams, if you would read – http://dreamhawk.com/news/summing-up/ and also http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/features-found-on-site/ which has so much information in.

Kira – The hole is caused by your feelings of depression and loneliness. Such feelings are like a poisonous bite, but your dream shows maggots eating away. But maggots only eat dead and dying flesh – never ever healthy flesh. So your dream is actually showing a healing process.
You feel lonely and depressed because you are a human being, and were raised in a culture that is terribly sick, which has led you to see life has little meaning and reason to existence. Unfortunately I cannot be with you in any other way than words to show you there is so much more of you than your despair.
So in words I suggest observing your own ebb and flow of thoughts and feelings, your own habits and responses to things, because it is one of the most powerful of tools to use in transforming your life. This also leads to a fuller connection with your intuitive realisation of another you.
If one uses observation you may at time realise that you are cycling through feelings or moods. So it can imply that one is experiencing a cycle which you may be trapped in. The way to get out of this cycle is to step back from it using observation; this is like stepping back and not be lost in the emotions or moods.
Much of our behaviour is largely or wholly unconscious. Becoming aware of something can by itself produce a change. If you are not aware of how you act or respond, there is less likelihood of satisfying change.
Such observation can begin anywhere and should be continued until it becomes a habit. Once you learn it in connection with one thing the skill can be used in any other direction in your life or in your own behaviour.
