Entities in Dreams

As both dreams show because of their content, what is being faced is not a haunting entity, a ghost or a demon trying to posses you. They are both face to face with fear, and dreams put an awful image on the fear to make it worse. The dreamer of the first example explored his dream and found that it was fear of death he was meeting. When he realised that he decided not to run away, as most people do when meeting their basic fears, but to face it. When he did that he saw that he had created his image of death from seeing dead and rotting animals, and that image transformed into an awareness that he was, fundamentally, not a dying body but the process of life which leaves shells behind on the shore of life. Since then he has never been afraid of dying.

Example: Dreamt I was alone in a house and asleep in bed. Something materialised or landed on the foot of the bed. It woke me a little and I felt afraid. I had the feeling it was some sort of entity materialising and coming for me in some way. It moved up the bed a little. I felt paralysed, partly by fear but also as if the ‘thing’ was influencing me.

Example: I am in a room that has an entity/ghost/sprit in it and I’m terrified. I can not see it though I just know it is there. The first time a friend told me to go downstairs and I was in pitch black I was calling her because I was scared and I freaked out and ran up the stairs as fast as I could. I woke up I was so freaked out I couldn’t go back to sleep (I was afraid to shut my eyes).

Another type of entity we can meet is shown in the following dream.

Example: Had a very unusual dream last night. I was in an outdoor environment. It seemed a bit dark, or maybe morbid is the right word. I was with other people but none of them stood out to remain in memory. There was a definite awareness though of being near to a place that was haunted, and that a man was in trouble in the haunted place.

I decided to go and see if I could sort out the problem. I walked down a slope to where the centre of the haunting existed. It was an open space with an old double-decker bus in it. The only person on the bus was a middle-aged man who was sitting on the top deck leaning out of a window on the right hand side of the bus. I stood beneath him and looked up. He was staring in a glazed way and didn’t see me. I could see and feel that he was being hit by fantasies or hallucinations by whatever was the source of the haunting. This invasion of his mind was grabbing his attention so fully that he wasn’t aware of his surrounding or of me. I was sure that if he went any deeper into this mind stuff he wouldn’t be able to pull out. I waved my hand in his line of vision and banged my hand on the bus to make a noise and get his attention. At first it didn’t seem as if I would bring him out of it, but after a while he looked at me.

I shouted at him to pull out. I said that he had a wife and some more years of his life to live, so why lose himself into this entrancement. This didn’t seem to grab him so I shouted again and said that he would eventually slip into this empty mind world anyway – at death – so why not live with his wife the remaining years of his life. I was sure that if he lost awareness he would let himself starve.

I was aware that what he desired was to slip away into the void, into the awareness of the one life in which he lost any awareness of self. But I banged and shouted and he became more ‘present’. I then felt I had to confront whatever was the source of the powerful ‘haunting’ that was pulling him into the inner mind. I turned away from the man and saw just to my right a short distance from the bus an animal that was the ‘haunter’. It was a mammal of no particular type – a bit like a mixture of dog, rat and guinea pig. It seemed very ordinary and tame, and stood looking at me. I walked toward it and stretched out my hand. It was a tan colour with short fur and gave a feeling of being okay to approach, so I touched it to stroke. This was okay and I was thinking there was no problem when the creature leapt at my throat in a flash of movement and ripped my throat out. Then it dived into my body. I simply formed a new dream body.

This dream was also explored by the dreamer. He says:

Example: It started with primitive sounds along with a feeling that something organic and alive yet buried was moving and trying to be recognised. It was a strange feeling because I sensed that this thing had deep connections, and as it began to move in me I felt it was linked with strands in my body and mind.

The sounds of struggle came from me – an animal struggling to be released. Then slowly the sounds of struggle became a torrent of curses and swearing. To sum it all up it was saying and feeling and recognising how my mother had raised me in such a way that I reacted to it by becoming alone, a loner who struggled to be independent. That wasn’t news to me, but the connections with the wanting to be lost in a form of Buddhistic trance were. There was hatred pouring out of me particularly towards women partners. But it was deeply buried, and a form or long term anger and hatred. I said that I had never really given myself to any woman, but always remained separate inside. Then I would leave them as a vengeance instead of staying to sort out the difficulty. Of course there was always a valid excuse for doing it.

Gradually the outburst ended and I sought to see if I could ask that part of me to learn to love women more fully. I felt that the first step would be honest in any relationship. I would need to say that my background of experience makes me very independent – I can come and go easily. But I feel as if the thing that I released was a part of me, not a dominating part of me, but something that has been causing mischief in me.

So ‘entities’ are self created out of our fear and strong emotions that we do not wish to admit, so they come back to haunt us in dreams. They can be dealt with by exploring such dreams using either Techniques for Exploring your Dreams or Peer Dream Group or even Secrets of Power Dreaming.

There are of course helpful and wonderful entities.

Example: “I was more than I had ever imagined myself. Not only was I living my life now, but I had existed from the very beginning of time, from the lowest form of life up to the present. The real me was all that experience. Then at times I could see ahead beyond even the awareness I now had, to where we become aware of it all.” Jesse felt that the new ‘world’  he was experiencing was something humans were moving toward, but most people couldn’t reach at the moment. In that world were beings Jesse called gods, beings who could live and move in that world easily, beings who were not afraid of the enormity of the experience. From Jesse Watkins Enlightenment

Example: I saw, floating on the water, many, many patches of hair – scalps. It looked as if the bodies had all dropped away, all rotted. I understood – lucidly – that as this was the dream world, something was wrong, as the people should have been able to change or deal with their dream surroundings. As it was, the water was like a higher dimensional trap. It was an image injected into personal dream images, that were not ones own, but an intriguing one. In some way it swallowed those who entered it.

Suddenly a youngish European man flashed to my side. He said, “Look away. You must not see what I do.” We/I, knew he was going to deal with the “trap”. This he did, while we averted our gaze. I knew that he could do this as he had the keys of about five levels of initiation of which I knew nothing. He was, in fact, an initiate.

In exploring his dream, he said, “Because of what is occurring within me, the lower forces of mineral, vegetable and animal, had been activated far more powerfully than usual. They were influencing consciousness far too much, acting like a magnet or whirlpool. I felt very dizzy during this interpretation. The results of this was or would be, an unbalanced or wrong involvement, too deep an involvement, with the psychic impressions. Ones outer activities would suffer. One would withdraw from others somewhat, or be too involved with the inner feelings, fears, etc. The soul becomes distorted. It was an initiate who came and helped me. I felt his presence, with love and thanks.

I don’t believe that black entities are self created through emotional fears.

Jovan – Try being one and see what you experience, not what you imagine. See https://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/acting-on-your-dream/#BeingPerson

Example: I was walking up the several flights of stairs to get to the attic room. I was holding a small dog in my arms – one of those rather flat nosed toy dogs.

When I arrived at the attic I put the dog down. But now the attic was empty and dark. I could feel my hair stand on end and my skin ‘crawling’. Actually I feel it all again as I write this. The feeling arose because there was an unformed dark shape creeping around at the far end of the room. The dog was really afraid and came into my arms.

Then the dark creature leapt at me, transforming into a massive mouth with huge fangs and awful demonic face. Immediately I leapt at it in the same way and smashed against its face with my own huge fangs. This utterly disarmed it because it had felt, in its primitive way, to terrify me. It surprised me too that I could so immediately transform into a monster when necessary. Later I realised that I had often become something of a monster in real life, and that was how I knew how to become a monster in order to deal with my own inner monster. For I had often done that to people.

Hi – It would help you to understand your dreams, if you would read – http://dreamhawk.com/news/summing-up/ and also http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/features-found-on-site/ which has so much information in.

Nothing can replace your own ability to understand your dream. With a little effort you can do this by practising what is described in – http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/acting-on-your-dream/#BeingPerson or http://dreamhawk.com/dream-dictionary/getting-at-your-dreams-meaning/

Clyde – We tend to put images in our dreams gathered from our life in our body – the three dimensional world. But dream originate from a multi dimensional source – a huge world which our little world we know through our body senses does not prepare us for.

Many people as their awareness reaches beyond what they feel is their normal self feel scared. Such resistances cause us to create awful dreams and fears as a means of avoiding our own inner world and its wonders. We feel that we will be swallowed up and we will die. It is important to say that when we meet the experience of powerlessness through becoming aware of the hugeness of your Life, which we are usually unaware if, it feels like something alien or attacking and it is a shock.

When we begin to meet the Hugeness that we are, we often react to it in our dreams or in waking with fear or panic. So we dream of being attacked by aliens or frightening creatures; or even hearing voices. See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/dimensions-of-human-experience/http://dreamhawk.com/inner-life/extending-your-awareness/

I feel that you were meeting the death world, which is not threatening, but because if the awful images and beliefs we have about it create great fear. You were in a hospital because you needed healing of the fear you were meeting – causing you to pass out.

The flat-line was you becoming aware of the death world. That is exactly the same as the sleep and dream world – except you were entering it with awareness – your awareness was expanding.

“We all like to kill it’s our nature.” Is true. Most of us do not realise that plants can count and have a level of awareness the allows them to feel and react to being hurt. So all of us are constantly killers in order to live. But from the larger, huge view of dreams, we too are going to be ‘eaten’ by death – but from the view of this larger self, nothing dies, it goes through transformation. Life gives itself to Life – and we call that death.

We are like the great rivers of the world, constantly changing, flowing through time through millions of years – yet with all that change, sometimes world changing, there is the same old river, eternal through all the change we call death.

Dear Tony, can you help me explaining my dream? I dreamt i was walking with a gypsy woman, she was magnificant, beautiful, peaceful and sereen, with colourful clothes and an uncoverd belly. She walked like there was not a worry in the world. She was poor though, and pregnant. We walked in nature on a sandy path and it was a lovely sunny and warm day. We went to the doctor, and i was there to assist, cause she had never been to a doctor. upon arrival the doctor was very concerned and talked to me, not to the gypsy woman. He said, this baby growing in her is evil. It will bite and scratch as soon as it gets out. You will have to pull it out and kill it. He looked very strict at me. I said, do i strangle it, or? He looked again like it was an obvious or silly question, it needs to be killed, he said, try to pull it out and kill it, by any means! I felt it was an immediate threat. We went, the gypsy woman was totally unconcerned of what was growing inside her. She was still peaceful and oblivious. I was wondering why she was not worried, and thinking, i have to kill her baby. Thank you, Fran

Hi – I am stopping from answering your posts fully – but will try to give hints; sometimes long ones because I quote from masses I have already put online. Also, I need to take time to update the site – dreamhawk.

It would help you to understand your dreams, if you would read – http://dreamhawk.com/approaches-to-being/questions-2/#Summing and also http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/features-found-on-site/ which has so much information in.

    Tony

First things first – All the images, people, animals, places we see in our dreams, are simply your own feelings, fears, hopes and wonder projected onto the screen of your sleeping mind as images. So, it makes sense to take the image of your dream person, thing or animal back into you and own it. In that way, you are meeting and dealing with the things about yourself you are not owning or conscious of. That is why dreams are often difficult to understand, because we are hiding things from ourselves. To do this you can use Being the Person or Thing

Second – Whenever we dream its images are not like real life, because a dream is nothing like outer life where things could hurt you, but is an image like on a cinema screen, so that even if a gun is pointed at you and fired it can do no damage – except if you run in fear; so, all the things that scare you are simply your own fears projected onto the screen of your sleeping mind.

Knowing that it puts a different interpretation upon the doctor – usually a healer, but in your dream inciting to murder. As a part of our own nature, you cannot kill any thing, only repress it. Not a good idea if you wish to be w whole person.

The opening scene says that you have reached point in your life where you reached your intuition and are at peace with it. The path you walk is a natural one, and the intuitive part of you is poor because it is partly a way of life, but partly because you have not invested much in it. She/you are pregnant with a new aspect pf yourself.

The doctor you can explore for yourself by using http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/acting-on-your-dream/#BeingPerson – but my impression is that he represents a part of you that has been programmed to believe in the ideas of your culture – everything is explainable by bodily processes. It therefore wants to kill out anything that disagrees with his theories. Hello! I had a dream today (well several I’ve never had a full dream just many things put together) anyways I was in a classroom and everyone in the room became paralyzed. I hid under my desk I could really make out the teacher she was pointed and twitches her face in ways you would see someone having a seizure does. I looked to my right and felt something very heavy and connected to a darkness In that moment the bottom of two black/grey robes appeared and there was a low chanting I could hear in my body there was white writing on the robes but they were extremely vivid more detail than I’ve seen in a dream before. The dream following was me in a maze grocery store?? Lol and people were walking around aimlessly until one man spotted me and chased me around saying he was a witch and laughing and I was like….no…I wasn’t so much afraid as I was very confused. The dreams after that were all shorter me realizing I’m in the dark and frantically looking for a light

Hi – I must take time to upgrade the dream dictionary, so must halt from answering your posts – I started revising the dictionary in 2006, and haven’t neared the end yet. I believe someone else may start giving interpretations.

So, for a while I urge you to read http://dreamhawk.com/approaches-to-being/i-am-no-longer-interpreting-dreams/ – It describes ways that can help you. And often it would help too if you looked at http://dreamhawk.com/approaches-to-being/questions-2/#Summing

    Tony

    First see http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/sleep-paralysis/

This is often felt as evil in dreams leading to fear – BUT whenever we dream its images are not like real life, because a dream is nothing like outer life where things could hurt you, but is an image like on a cinema screen, so that even if a gun is pointed at you and fired it can do no damage – except if you run in fear; so all the things that scare you are simply your own fears projected onto the screen of your sleeping mind. So face your fears and transform your life.

EXAMPLE – I was in a room with lots of animals, suddenly a wild thing burst through the wall to the left, one of the little animals run through the hole I was worried that it would be OK. I used the technique Tony taught me and I became the wild thing suddenly I was full of energy the sort of energy that could do anything powerful, the image of a fox in the hen house came to mind but it did not feel harmful just full of life’s energy empowering me. I don’t know what I will do with this energy but great to feel it.

Hello,
I have been trying to find the meaning of my dream but can’t quite figure out! Two nights ago I had a strange scary dream. We live for now in a beach town called Half Moon Bay in California, but we don’t know when we will be going back to Canada. So, in my dream we are walking with my husband near the bluffs here in Halfmoonbay and I see in the distance people, 3 o think and a kid along with some dogs, then I tell my husband: oh look those people are hunting! Then they get closer and closer to where we are and passed us and no one look at us, so I felt they were rude and said: good morning!! And like two of them turned around and looked at us !!! Oh I thought to myself, they are dead!!!! I was shock and couldn’t say anything to my husband. They were old people walking very very fast and the only scary thing was that their eyes were black no white in them!!! The kid was the only one that seemed okay, he had like frekles and red curly hair! I wanted to tell my husband that they were dead but was to scared!
Does this has to do with health or with the possibility of moving somewhere soon?
After the dream I keep seeing it and it does go away from my head!
Thank you
Patty
