Wasp

Painful emotions or feeling stung by remarks. If the wasp hasn’t stung you, then it suggests memories of past hurts and feeling threatened again. Wasps also can eat flesh, so can indicate feelings eating away at you.

Wasps can also show your own waspishness, or your hurtful words or actions.

I was with John and David and on the left was a huge thistle. It was as high as a big elm tree, and really powerful. I was then near the trunk of the thistle examining it. It seemed at that point like a giant hardwood tree. I snapped a twig and its smelt very nice – a perfumed wood. But other branches were going rotten. Walking around to the back of the tree to see if the bark was rotten, I noticed a hole where wasps had a colony. I put my left hand up to touch the bark and saw that there was also a hole in the back of my hand, in and out of which wasps were flying. With great shock I looked in the hole and saw wasps eating away my flesh so that my hand was almost hollow. I felt very depressed and being eaten away inside and awoke with the feeling of being alone and decrepit.  Dennis.

Dennis explored his dream and said, “John feels like the practical, achieving side of myself. David is the part that doesn’t wish to change but is strong and wants a stable relationship. This part of me doesn’t push to use the potential of new opportunities and growth that I have. The thistle is the enormous amount of hurts and antisocial feelings I have developed over the years. My inner life is so fertile, but while I only wish to hold people off through fear of being abused or stepped on, all I grow is thistles. Also the wasps are my pains and stings of daily life eating me away inside, leaving me feeling old, alone, and without living contacts with others.

John is the part of me concerned about caring for my children, financial security and planning ahead. David is a type who is willing to live without those things in order to do what he loved – being on the sea. My left-hand is my inner feelings, being eaten away, eating away the hand I reach out to others with love.

Wasps can also show your own waspishness, or your hurtful words or actions.

Hi – The answers I give arise not out of me thinking up things to say, but from fifty years of exploring dreams in depth. So some of what I write may seem wild. This may be because dreams arise and are experienced by a level of your mind or awareness that very few people have any concept or experience of – usually called the unconscious. So their view of dreams arise from their thinking mind, a very different creature than the thing giving you Life. Life dreamt millions of years before even humankind awoke and developed self awareness – a very young and precocious child. So I try to describe what takes place in the deeps of you.

But it would help you to understand your dreams, if you would read – http://dreamhawk.com/news/summing-up/ and also http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/features-found-on-site/ which has so much information in.
Nothing can replace your own ability to understand your dream. With a little effort you can do this by practising what is described in – http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/acting-on-your-dream/#BeingPersonor http://dreamhawk.com/dream-dictionary/getting-at-your-dreams-meaning/

LeLanya – Your dream is about fears about your child, and your urge to care for her.

Your love and care for your child or children can trigger your mothering instincts with a vengeance. Being female and a mother holds with it an enormously increased anxiety about your children. You see all manner of things that might be a threat, and I believe that is what such dreams show. Your imagination for such dangers is enormously increased. This is natural in all mammals, and acts as a warning making you aware. It helps to check whether your child or children are okay, and if they are, say to the part of you that is worried, “It’s okay, I checked, but thanks for keeping me on my toes, you can relax now.”

But all the people, animals, places you see in your dreams, are simply your own feelings, fears, hopes and wonder projected onto the screen of your sleeping mind as images. See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-dictionary/mother-mum-ma/

Hello,
In my dream I was stung many times (about 150x) by small reddish wasps in both calves, especially the left one. I had many swollen spots all over the calves.
I was at my parents house where I live at the moment because I have a small baby. The old house where I live connects the new house where my parents live. And the wasp nest was lying just in front of the entrance to the new part of the house. I was followed by a few wasps and ran right towards the Wasp nest while fleeing to the new house. And before entering I was attacked.
What exactly do the wasps represent?
Thank you for your time and effort!

So I had a dream last night about how I had a hole in my right index finger, and these small pale yellow wasps would crawl out of it, and throughout the dream I would have to kinda coax it halfway out of the hole and then carefully pull it the rest of the way out. It never hurt, and they never stung me, but just as you might get a creepy chill imagining that, that’s how I felt the whole time. The dream seemed to go on and on as one wasp would always follow the next

Alex – Wasps are flesh eaters, so no wonder you felt strange.

Example: I look at the trunk of the thistle examining it. At this point it seems like a giant hardwood tree. I snap a twig and it smells very nice – a perfumed wood. Other branches are going rotten. Walking around to the back of the tree to see if the bark is rotten I notice a hole where bees or wasps have a colony. I put my left hand up to touch the bark and as I do so notice there is also a hole in the back of my hand, in and out of which wasps are flying. With great shock, I look in the hole and see wasps eating my flesh away, so my hand is almost hollow. I awake with the feeling of being old and decrepit.

What is of particular importance in this dream is the point of transition where the dreamer moves from seeing the hole in the tree, to seeing the hole in himself. But this transition continues, for the dreamer then moves to the feeling of being old and decrepit. These points of transition mark the stages of realisation that what seems exterior is not. It also shows a transition that few dreamers ever make.

So, what did you think, feel or fear when you saw the wasps crawling out, for it is that aspect of your dream that is important. To find out use http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/acting-on-your-dream/#BeingPerson

I’ve just woken from a dream about two wasps stinging me on my stomach. At first I was afraid of them but I didn’t try that hard to get away. When they stung me it didn’t hurt and they had whst looked like blue electricity coming out of and around their stinging ends. They flew away and I felt fine though seemed bemused about it and why no one else in the dream had noticed. All of the interpretations I’ve read say wasps represent evil etc. But it didn’t feel like that to me once they had stung me so I’m a bit confused! Any alternative suggestions welcome.

I can only remember the reoccurring part of the dream. A giant wasp was my friend. At the end of each segment the wasp would turn on me and try to sting me, flying at me repeatedly. Then I’d wake up or the segment would end.

I had a dream in which I was stung by a wasp after it had come out of a girl’s purse. Basically what happened in the dream was that I was at my friend’s sensai’s place and we all were resting in the room waiting for our teacher’s instructions. So it was my guy friend and his friend, then later on two girls walked in, when it was time for us to go one girl stayed behind and when she opened her purse out came the wasp that flew straight for my face stinging me 3 times before i killed it. Were I was stung became swollen and I was looking for someone to take me to the hospital or something but to no avail. Woke up feeling as if it was seething bad. What do you think?

-Anne Domilise 2011-09-20 14:19:06

I had a dream of a 3 inch black wasp-I was trying to spray the nest and it flew at me and landed on my hand and I killed it and had to pull the stinger out, it was still moving as it was pumping venom into the palm of my left hand. I thought it was going to hurt but it didn’t to my amazement! It did leave a small hole in my little finger. That is all I remeber. I don’t want to be a mean person, I will be on guard so that I am not mean or hurtful. I try to not be that way.

    -Tony Crisp 2011-10-27 10:15:14

Anne – It sounds a little like you are not admitting who you are. I say this presuming that you sprayed the wasp nest to kill them. If so you were not being the harmless person. So the sting was a reminder to leave them alone.

Dreams are such that you cannot be hurt, as you saw from the fact the sting didn’t hurt. Please read the following if you can: http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/dream-yoga/
