Burglar Intruder
This might indicate fears or difficult emotions arising from within you in a way that threatens you. If this applies it could indicate neglected parts of yourself which if met could enlarge who you are as a person.
The burglar might also suggest the loss of valuable talents or qualities that you have robbed yourself of through your behaviour – or been robbed of in some way during your growth and development.
But some burglar dreams are about the dreamer being the burglar:
Example: It being dark outside. In the window were displayed a number of colour transparencies that Bill had taken of an artist’s work. They were abstract paintings. On the left a panel of the window was opened and we entered the showroom, looking at the transparencies. Then suddenly a voice spoke from a loudspeaker on the ceiling. It said that we had set of a burglar alarm, and police were on their way. We hurried out the way we came, hoping to escape the police, but as we did so the voice said, “You can’t escape. I have seen you and know what you look like now – that porcelain one with a broken nose.” I knew he was referring to me, and felt he must be watching through a closed-circuit television.
The voice was the voice of the dreamers conscience, saying he had done something wrong and couldn’t escape from his feelings of guilt.
The burglar and intruder also frequently depict the fact that sometime in your life you have experienced shocking intrusion. This may have taken the form of people forcing you into experiences you fought against – such as sometimes happens in dental or medical operations where you feel violated or broken into. Or it could be a sexual burglary during which you were broken into in that way.
Burglar alarm: Something is happening that you are not aware of and are being warned of in the dream. Look at the events in the dream to define what it is. It can also mean, if you yourself trip the alarm, that you have engaged in activities or feelings that you have an inbuilt warning against. This is not to say these things are ‘wrong’. It might be that your social training and cultural taboos are being triggered.
Useful Questions and Hints:
If I am the burglar, what is it I plan to do or steal, and what is that saying about my hidden intentions?
What do I feel about this intrusion, and do I connect any past events or underlying feelings in myself with that?
Have I been repressing something in myself that is now emerging and I feel threatened by?

hi I had a dream where i was sleeping upstairs, I heard normal talking coming from downstairs, I went down, and these total strangers were sitting at my table talking, acting normal but i didn’t know them, they broke into my home, but they weren’t scared, I questioned one what they were doing, he was very relaxed, as if he was doing nothing wrong, there was no sign of a break in, and I wasn’t even very frightened, but I felt angry that they were talking openly in my home as if nothing was wrong, there were about 12 people, on a very long brown wood table, in a very modern spacious kitchen, with a few plants, which I noticed and didn’t like where they were placed, I did get them out eventually but was scared they would return, my daughter was upstairs also. there was no huge panic, but surprise and anger. Please help me to understand it thanks . Ann

Ann – There is so much you are misunderstanding about dreams. You are judging dream images – which are all symbolic of processes within you – as things taking place in the waking world. To help see http://dreamhawk.com/news/summing-up/
The dreams say that you are asleep upstairs in your daily life. But the dream process wakes you up to what is happening downstairs. This part of the house is often used in dreams, and represents hidden motives, unconscious, unknown feelings, memories or past experiences, your biological past, and the process of Life active in you.
In life and sleep we have two powerful actions working in us. The first is our waking experience based on having a body, its limitations, vulnerabilities and a particular gender. Our second is the power that gave us life and continues to express as spontaneous movement in dreams, in our breathing and heartbeat – our life. This I have given the description as the Life Will.
While we sleep our conscious self is largely or totally unconscious, and while we sleep and dream our voluntary muscles are paralysed – therefore another will or motivating force moves our body. So we have a Conscious Will, and what I will call a Life Will. The first one we have experience of as we can move our arm or speak in everyday activities; but the second will takes over when we sleep. This Life will can move us to speak, to move our body, and in fact do things that we cannot do with our Conscious Will, all that while we sleep and dream and what keeps us alive.
You felt angry that the Life Will, that created you and also creates dreams to instruct you, brought twelve people into ‘your’ house. How can it ever be your house/body, for it was Life that created you, your mother was simply a host to the life seed planted in her. Your mother could never have directed all the intricacies that gave the babies the growth rate causing them to gain 27 million times their original weight – Life is not, according to dreams, an automatic function.
So the twelve people you woke up to hear conversing, around a bare wooden table, are what the Bible mentions, the twelve great forces of Life, the 12 disciples, the 12 Zodiacal patterns, the forces of the universe, the stars.
I know that is a lot for you to take in, but it is the best I can give you. The human personality – the You that you call yourself, with a name, is only a tiny thing. It is moved and tossed around by all manner of drives, ambitions, emotions, fears, temptations, worries, love and desire with its pains and hopes; it is something we take so seriously and get carried away into awful situations; we take many sorts of pain killers to deal with ourselves. But we have to remember that having a personality with self awareness is a very new thing and has only existed for a short time. Before that we were like animals that lived only in the Life Will – what we usually call instincts. So the development of self awareness was an immense step, and left us very vulnerable, and still does.
Many people as their awareness reaches beyond what they feel is their normal self feel scared. Such resistances cause us to create awful dreams and fears as a means of avoiding our own inner world and its wonders. We feel that we will be swallowed up and we will die. It is important to say that when we meet the experience of powerlessness through becoming aware of the hugeness of your Life, which we are usually unaware if, it feels like something alien or attacking and it is a shock. This was you feeling surprise and anger. See http://dreamhawk.com/approaches-to-being/opening-to-life/
I had a dream that I was conversing with my mother on a topic and as I hug her I see a burglar entering my house through the main door, as he approaches us with a angered face and then enters our bedroom where my elder sister was asleep. I call out to her but she doesn’t wakes up and then I go to kitchen for a knife and as I was about to turn he attacks me from back
