Princess

Conscious (or in a man may be unconscious) emotional, intuitive, feminine qualities. Sometimes represents the inner self, receptive, gentle, sympathetic nature. A sense of beauty and love in alignment with life. The princess in a woman’s dream can depict her strength to search for meaning and ways to positively deal with difficulties and personal problems.

The best aspect of the dreamer if female; ones lover/girlfriend if male. It can represent the anima in a male dream. See: animaanimus

From the examples below you can see that dreaming of being a princess can mean you expect to get your own way in life, or being regarded as someone important or of higher rank in the social order.

Example: I am an important person, maybe a princess. I am in a wheelchair and go out for a walk. I am surrounded by reporters and gawkers that crowd around me and get in my way. They are shouting questions. I am aloof and angry. I intimidate them. They want to rush forward and help me, but I stare at them and they don’t dare. Barb S.

Example: I am a queen or princess. I can have anything I want. I feel sexually excited and grab a man and slide him under me and make love to him. I don’t care who he is. I have an orgasm.

The princess in the story of Sleeping Beauty depicts another aspect of a dream Princess. The Princess is part of the duality of each of us, male and female. It not only is it the female aspect of a male, or the essence of femininity in a female, but the Princess also represents what is lost in most of us, put to sleep by losing awareness of our whole world of faculties – the unconscious. Literally it is only gained by going to sleep – our waking intellect has to ‘go to sleep’ to be aware if it. But the princess has to go to sleep in us so that the critical intellect can develop. When this development has taken place, then the two aspects of self, the rational and irrational can marry.

The frog and the princess who aids the frog to transform in a prince are about the power of transformation in our inner world. The things we despise or avoid are often – in our dream world – the things that have wonderful qualities of transformation. See transformation; creative dreaming

Example: I entered through an old fashioned drapers shop to find several people there at some sort of meeting and realised it was a group of royalty with their aides, etc.  I was to join Princess Diana as a princess. I think I stayed by her and she told me how to behave and what to say to the dignitaries. She told me not to be nervous and that I would soon get used to the life. I sat next to her and she had on her lovely print going away outfit with the print ostrich feather hat. I remember saying to her that it still looked smart, and, “I don’t suppose you will be casting it off yet?” I had my eye on it.

This Princess dream appears to be an exposure to old world values and ways of behaviour – Princess Diana was obviously a role model that she must have admired  and ‘had her eye on’ and so became an inner world figure. See Inner World Making

A subtle and negative form of a dream princess is one who asks her male to answer question that are riddles. If the men cannot answers the questions, they must die-and she wins.

This depicts the men in a destructive intellectual game. It is typified in men who are so locked into the neurotic pseudo-intellectual dialogues that the man is trapped in his feelings of intellectual superiority and is stopped from getting into direct touch with life and its real decisions. He reflects about life so much that he cannot live it and loses all his spontaneity and outgoing feelings

There are many more stories with deep meanings, like Snow White and the seven dwarfs, and Cinderella; the Greek hero Perseus saves the Ethiopian princess Andromeda from a sea-monster and later marries her. These are all variation of lifting inner awareness out of its dark imprisonment and welcoming it – and, indeed, submitted to it – as an indispensable factor in ones life and happiness.

Useful questions or hints:

What was my relationship with the princess?

Was I the princess – or in love with her?

Was she a dominant figure in need of rescuing?

I had the sweetest dream about princess Diana. I was a worker in the kitchens of Kensington palace. The sink was full of dirty plates. She came to me and said I must be more scrupulous because I worked in a royal environment. I said I couldn’t, that I already did all I could. She was so sweet and understanding, not bossy at all. Like a friend. I told her I wanted to leave that job because it was too demanding. She asked if I was sure, I said “yes, things change”, she smiled and said “you are right”, and she was not angry at all. Then I went home and dyed my hair green and blue and felt much more in my skin at once Strange because I read another person dreaming of Diana and colour green.

Hi – It would help you to understand your dreams, if you would read – http://dreamhawk.com/news/summing-up/ and also http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/features-found-on-site/ which has so much information in.

Nothing can replace your own ability to understand your dream. With a little effort you can do this by practising what is described in – http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/acting-on-your-dream/#BeingPerson or http://dreamhawk.com/dream-dictionary/getting-at-your-dreams-meaning/

    Tony

Eliza – Dreams use our associations to form images. So your association/memories of princess D are that she was a sweet and ehelpful woman. That connected with that she is dead, probably makes her in your dream into the helpful fairy godmother.

The same with the colour green. The fact that you want to change from working in the riyal kitchens – which in dreams represent work of the highes order – show that princess D is helping you to move on.

Remember that every change and decisions you make creates a siffrent future for you. So plan carefully the direction you plan to go.

Each of us are immersed in a ‘river’ of constant change. If you think about it you have been carried, pushed, impelled by this current as you were moved through babyhood, childhood, teenage and adulthood. And as we passed through these changes we died to our old self in order to change to the new. It is the current of Life. This current then carries us on through old age and through gates of death. All the time we are faced by decisions, and each decision directs us on a different path, helping to create our future.

So im male and i had a dream i was in a in a MMA match in which i and the person i was to fight bad the first match up of the many ppl there to fight in the line up we are all dressed as super heros and i was batman and the dude i was to fight is spider man and i ended up loosing and so after loosing i leave to get a smoke and i sit down across from this big dude ive never met before at a table outside of the MMA building and as i sit and light my smoke i take a few puffs he begins to talk to me about the match and i tell him i could have beatin the dude in the spider man outfit if id have done this that and the other diffrently and he tells me in a kind way that i couldent have beatin him. Ive finished my smoke by this point and it was my last one so i asked if i could bum one off him an he trys to give me his last one but i decline taking his last smoke and thank him. Its at this point i see him looking around as if hes worried about something he tells me its a good thing i lost and i was about to ask why when we see 3 men in black suites (guards from the MMA match) walking towards us he asks me to come with him so we could get away from them i felt i could trust him for w.e reason so i go with him and we run to his modded out car and hop into the passanger seat and we speed out of there and its at this point they start chasing us by car as well as a monster truck that could flatten us if it runs over us (and thats what they had planned) i ask him why they are chasing him (i wanted to help him) he says they are not after him but they ARE after me and that hes here to protect me. We get onto the interstaite and go a few miles before before the monster truck cetches up to us and is about to run us over so the big dude offers his hand to me and asks me to take it (i asumed he had a plan of escape) so as i reach for his hand i see its kinda blue green in color (was a normal human hand before) and he only bas 3 oddly shaped fingers (alien hand i guess) i take his hand and next thing i know we bust out the window shild just in time to escape the truck flattening us and we are flying threw the air (dude is flying us with no wings or anything that would make sence as to why we are able to fly) i look at him and hes all changed now with that blue green skin thats kinda see threw with big fins around his neck and 3 fingers on each hand. We are flying for a short time before he lands away from the guys chasing me and i ask him what he is (i still trust him by this point) and he tells me hes my body guard and that hes been watching me my intire life waiting for the right time (kind of riddle like) then he places his hand on my chest and and i take a new form. The form of a pinkish red female alien. He tells me im the princess of are world and that they needed to hide me away (for reasons unknown to me) and to keep me safe they made me look human and wiped my memorys and replaced them with fake ones so i wouldent be found but now they have found me and its no longer safe on earth anymore so its time to leave.

I wake up after this in a cold sweat and im so confused because im a straight guy with a wife and a daughter so why would i be dreaming im a girl alien princess? Im also vary distrusting so that i would hop into a car with a stranger is vary unlike me. I really hope you know what this all means cuz it kinda has me messed up about all this XD

Eric – I’ll do the best I can, but it might seem strange stuff to you – but it is a strange dream.

When we dream about person communicating with us it can be distorted by our view of what our associations with the person. Our own view of life becomes a starting point for dream symbolism, but our dream process arrives from a very different world than the world of waking life. Our waking world is one of forms of people, animals and thousands of things, al in time and space. But our dream self is tryuing to communicate from a world without form, time or space. Please read before reading on http://dreamhawk.com/news/there-is-a-huge-change-happening/ and http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/dimensions-of-human-experience/

So, your dream uses images, scenes and events as ways of communicating things to you. It does this because you have feelings and ideas about those images that make sense to you, yet are trying to communicate a very different realisations.

The fight you lost is the fight to survive as a person, not a body. You lost but you felt that you could have won. Of course you are a winner seen from the ‘big’ view of what you are. Millions of sperm cells started to race to the wonderful female egg cell. But the female egg is picky, and chooses the best sperm with full DNA. But what is growing is a seed that has been alive since the beginning of life on Earth, and carries with it, like any seed, the pattern developed over millions of years, the essence of thousands of lives that survived war, famine, the extremes of seasons and world upheavals. So you are the latest version of that incredible journey – what a fight! In a sense you lost the latest fight because you had not accepted that Life has a lot more of you than you have accessed so far, and your dream was introducing you to MORE.

If you can accept that you are as a personality, only a tiny part of what you have inherited from that incredibly journey of your ancestors, and that most of you is unconscious, and that it is availalbe to become conscious. But because it is unknown to you it seems ‘alien’ – and so in dream imagery you met an alien and it said that he is your body guard and that he’s been watching you your entire life waiting for the right time.

The huge part of you that the seed left in you is a product of Life, and Life has levels of sentience, and so the Huge that you have within you, also has a much greater awareness and was always watching and trying to communicate. And now that you are ready it has.

As for the princess thing its a part of your larger self – see http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/archetype-of-the-animus-jungs-view-of-the-male-in-the-female/

What you can do – well, here is a start http://dreamhawk.com/inner-life/extending-your-awareness/

Full of endorphins from Christmas, chocolate and candy canes, I had an afternoon nap, in which I dreamed that I was the long-lost daughter of a queen. I went to her palace where she told me that my mother was, in fact, my nanny, who had stolen me and fled to Canada with me, changing my name, never telling me who I really was. Now restored to my true mother, Queen Isabella, she wanted to know if, in spite of my blindness, did I want to take up my role as princess. I said, “Yes, ma’am”, and was eager to learn everything about royal duties. I thought what a neat idea, that a blind person could be a princess. The queen arranged a sort of coming-out party for me, even though I was in my thirties when she found me. The purpose of the party was to find me a suitable prince. Just before I awoke, my real-life husband intruded in the dream, saying he was going to end the dream, and I was very aware of losing my royal status.
I’ve since had that dream again. In one, I’m doing embroidery with Snow White and Cinderella. I touch an ecstatically soft Persian cat; the lace also feels lovely.
I’ve also dreamed of belonging to the British royal family.

Hi Tony – hope you can help!

I just had a dream that feels profound. I am a princess and I awake from a curse by lifting myself out of a tidepool on a rocky coast by the sea. I am young and beautiful and naked, very pale and with long white blond hair. I know it’s my stepmother or mother (this wasn’t clear) who cursed me.
Since I am naked and it’s cold, I know I need to find clothing and shelter. I try to swim in the ocean but it’s too cold so I go up the rocks into a public park. Two men are running towards me… I think they are going to rape me, so I try to run (but I am not very fast), then I grab a rock to attack them if I need to, but they just run past. They are just joggers exercising.

In the park I find an outdoor restaurant. They left a uniform on the ground so I put it on. It’s like a robe and emerald green. I ssneak away because I feel bad I stole it.

Do you have any thoughts about what this dream could mean? Thanks!
