Mouth
Your mouth is a fundamental part of life. It takes things in such as food, pleasure or even pain. Basically the mouth is a pleasure area, but it is also the way you express pleasure or pain, as with smiling, crying or grimacing. So the mouth is a way you communicate as well as satisfy yourself or gain your needs. As an organ of expression the mouth can also give thanks for life and utters beauty in words or sounds. This is a way you can uplift the dark things in you and transform them. See Using the Voice
Sometimes speaking can be likened to shooting things out of the mouth, projecting them to or firing them at other people angrily. But the mouth can also be receptive as when we take things into our mouth pleasurably.
As we eat with our mouth, it can indicate what you take into you, or what you expel or need to get out of you, as in the following example.
Example: I go into a bathroom and begin pulling weeds from my mouth. Weeds, weeds and more weeds come out from my mouth – come from deep down inside of me. I am still pulling them out when I leave the bathroom and someone, a woman walking behind me, helps me to pull some weeds that are trailing from my mouth behind me.
Pulling stuff out of the mouth, such as hair or weeds, is a common dream, and most likely expresses the feeling of discomfort we feel if something foreign is in our mouth or throat. It shows the feeling of urgently trying to rid yourself of something that is unpleasant – perhaps feelings you have taken in, or things we have said or done that leave a nasty taste in ones mouth. Perhaps there is something you are not admitting to yourself. Or it can represent the lies and untrue stories we have been fed as a child, but also strong emotion as we express the results of trauma. A dream of our mouth being buttoned – button your lip – or sewed up, could suggest that inwardly you regret having said certain things, or need to hold your tongue. Or perhaps you have been made to hold back your feelings as a child, so have had to sew up your mouth – figuratively. But speech is a lot more than noise or emotional expression; more even than utterance of thoughts. It is the giving form or clarity to what was previously unseen or unknown. Through the mouth we can pour love, praise or crit to others.
Sometimes the mouth may represent your house and the teeth the inhabitants or your family or other inhabitants. So the dream of losing a tooth thus logically becomes a symbol that a person in this household is dead, or that one wishes him dead.

Kissing: On the mouth is often a way of intimately sharing oneself, emotionally, and also a sharing of body fluids, which is either a form of trust or of careless introvention.
The kiss, oral pleasure, was our first area of loving with our mother. From that original centre of pleasure, it grows into anal and genital pleasure. When that happens the body begins to move. But there was still no engorgement. The movement was the forerunner of the inner pleasurable urge to thrust or be penetrated. So there can be a slow and internal growth through escalating feelings, and not an outwardly ordained set of movements that lead to “sex”!
Mouth fixed closed: Inability to express something, or a decision not to express something you hold inside. Sometimes a feeling of being inadequate socially, or that you do not have the power to get people to hear you. As in the example below, not having people understand what your difficulty is.
Example: I am in a situation which is different every time, but always includes different people in a conversation. Suddenly I can’t talk. It’s as if my mouth is sewed together on the outside. I make muffled noises, straining my muscles to open my mouth. I think that if I pull hard enough the stitches will tear, but they never do. It seems to me that even my muffles are loud enough to be heard as a scream, but no one I’m with seems to notice. They smile and carry on as usual. By this time I feel so desperate I usually wake up in a terrible state.
Pulling something out of mouth: Trying to clear emotions or attitudes not properly expressed. Perhaps one is not admitting something. Try Arm Circling Meditation but allow any sounds that you feel a need to express.

The mouth can also give birth: People often dream of giving birth from the mouth. The shape of the mouth is similar in some ways to our sexual organs, and can also discharge things. This usually happens when the person has something important they want to say, and is a way of allowing life in us to give thanks and birth to something new. See birth

Did you recognize the parts and/or the animals?
Pulling something out of your body suggests that you are becoming aware of feelings or parts of yourself that were previously internal or unconscious and perhaps need to be got rid of. The dream might also point to thoughts or attitudes that were previously taken to be important parts of you but are now seen as separate. i keep having this re-occurring dream of being chased down by a female black dog ( either boxer or English bull dog in breed) very muscled and it can unhinge its jaws when attacking. It has extremely intelligent eyes VERY scary almost like its looking into your soul. The dog is my husbands and it is only ever aggressive when he is not around. Also every time the dog attacks me it looses patches of its fur but get slightly bigger in size. I try to hide in a hotel room but the dog crawls thru the ceiling tiles and drops down on me i see the dog coming and raise my arm to shield myself and before it gets to me the dog turns into a very pale woman with angry eyes and her mouth is sewn shut. I get knocked to the ground and when i try to yell its like my voice is stuck in my throat she points at me like she is holding me to the ground then “snarls” . then she turns and walks towards my husband and right before she reaches him i “wake up” somewhere else in the dream hotel with the black dog attacking me again. However the black dog never sneaks she waits till im paying attention before she attacks… this dream scares me so bad it wakes me up in a cold sweat and so shaken i cant fall asleep again no matter how hard i try! Any ideas on what this could mean? Also in the dream sequence last night was the first time my kids were in the dream as well. they were never attacked but they were with their aunt and in and out of the dream in different blips. I was however in this last dream carrying my baby in the end of the dream when the she dog attacked for the last time.
Had a dream last night where I was pulling yarn out of my mouth, it was coming out of the roof of my mouth though and it was a few feet and still coming. I stopped for a minute after it broke and as a group of people gathered around to see it and some were holding it. I continued pulling it out and then it stopped coming/it was gone. I remember I was weirded out but I wasn’t scared or stressed in my dream. I woke up/changed dreams. So strange. Not sure how this definition fits my life right now though.

It seems to me that that is what your dream is about; you released thoughts and/or emotions that were confusing to you – “I continued pulling it out and then it stopped coming/it was gone. “- and then you were able to “change dreams”; you were able to focus your attention on other things that are part of your inner world.
Perhaps the “changed dream” can give a clue of what the first dream was about?

I had a dream i was pulling a piece of hair out of my mouth, but it wasnt easy. As i kept pulling the hair would come out with big pieces of white lumps, id keep pulling and bigger and bigger peices kept coming.. but the hair wouldnt end.

In my dream im going through a normal day but suddenly the mood changes the skie start to become dark, there is a reacurring episode of being in a prison not knowing how i ended up there but being with a lot of people i carred for. After a friend is shanked and killed a man sets up a distraction that fools even the gaurds by creating a sprinkler in the ever so gloomy yard. While a water truck is out side there are orphans who appear with us.. Than there is a huge gathering, a water truck, and someone (female) who i am very found of starts belittling me because my two front teeth have fallen out, i felt insecure and so i remind her of all her fake attributes of plastic surgery(her insecurities). She starts to cry. I get onto the water truck and the orphans and a few friends follow. While on the truck, the smallest orphan dissapears and is replaced with a decoy and his name written on it. We are away from the prison at this point and teleport to my home town, where i disembark from that vessel. Only to be thrust into a situation of feeling one of my teeth is loosening up so i pull it out and its withouth a root but black gunk, one by one starting with my two front teeth at the prison now molars, but each tooth that was coming out of my head had longer and longer roots, so i went to the dental office, which was set up more like a bank and everyone was having a personal conversation on their desk phones, i approach the furthest desk and was trying to get them to explain to mewhat was going on, by this time the roots were about four inches and still covered and full of the black stuff and there was still a bit of blood and when i spoke its sprayed across the desk and onto the asian woman infront of me. I left still pulling teeth i come around the corner to a restuaraunt typer setting all asains again and while im pulling out teeth which now have plant roots entangled in the foot long perfectly verticle tooth roots, there is a table of people fixated and being mesmorized buy a plant attracting to one of the men at the table, there is a woman waitress infront of me and the final tooth which is covered in vividly green plants. I awoke. July 7th 2015 @0525

I dreamt my mouth was taped closed and I couldn’t get it off, my hands weren’t tied, and there was a large man, I want to say a Mexican/Indian , sweaty or greasy hair hanging over his left eye, bug I couldn’t really observe his features, hovering over me from behind. I had the FEELING that he wanted too kill me. I kept trying to to scream but it was muffled by the tape. Somehow I kept getting away, but the dream kept going back to me sitting with my mouth taped closed, the man hovering over me and me screaming and getting AWAY
I just had a dream that I spit out of my mouth 3 shining pieces of metal on to my right hand…. (I don’t remember anything else of the dream)
Dreamed about washing mouth, very calmly and spit came out bloody. Continued to try and rinse but more blood came out. Eventually realized it wouldn’t stop bleeding and it wasn’t from gums but from pores in the mouth. Was with my husbands family at a house. They were all gathered there as I tried to rinse again and again but paid no attention.
Had to tell them what was happening, that I needed medical attention. They didn’t act concerned enough and suggested I have more proteins. One of his aunts asked another to go fetch me a protein shake. Any insight on that. Too much stuff. By the way your sight is the best, the only one I use. Love, love.
Karina – I reckon you have not changed your diet recently, because I think you would have been able to understand this dream on that level for yourself. (Are you a vegetarian?)
In your dream you are hurt by your husband’s family not being concerned enough.

I keep having this feeling over and over and over. Many different dreams but the same feeling.
My mouth is full with a substance I can’t describe very well. It is doughy and sticky and clumpy and big. All of it in my mouth, I spit it out, I pull it out with my fingers, If it is stuck to other lumps I try to loosen it up with my tongue to spit it out. It is clumpy and it is white it has an awful taste and odor. I can barely speak I can breathe ok. And no matter where I dream I am or what I am dreaming of this is in my mouth. It is really uncomfortable and I’m not sure what this means or how to get rid of it. Please help

So why not try to clear these unpleasant emotions or “swallow unpleasant experiences or arguments” so you can digest them?
Digestion is a very important function not just for our body but also for our mind and spirit. I have seen people become very ill in mind because they have not digested their experience or what they have learnt at school or the lessons and experience of a relationship long gone. And digestion is a Life function. Life in us is often greatly overlooked and our dreams are one way of showing us how we have not surrendered our life experience to that function. When we digest, whether it is an idea, something we have read or learned, it has to be first surrendered to the life process. We can see this in our body – it is first chewed and swallowed, then broken down into parts and the useful stuff, the building stuff, can be taken into us and the rest is passed out. The important thing is that even if it is dead or living food, it is transformed into our own living being – in other words our living understanding. If it has not been transformed through digestion it is like something dead inside us. But to be capable of such digestion we must swallow the experience and allow our unknown self to do its work, as described in Life’s Little Secrets.

I just read your insight into the dream, which I also have, of finding pasty bits and clumps in my mouth and removing them with my fingers, only to have them return continuously. Added to this is the discomfort of trying to do this discreetly without other people noticing.
In waking life I am trying to digest and process unpleasant feelings and experiences that have “left a nasty taste in my mouth” or are “unpalatable”. Your words really resonated with me…in my dreams I try to remove the offending stuff from my mouth but I have never tried swallowing and digesting. I will try to do this next time I have this dream, thank you. And in waking life I will try digesting those things I find so unpalatable.

I keep having this dream I have no clue where I am but I know I’m over a sink!! And for some reason I keep pulling metal pieces out of my mouth,sometimes they are large pieces other times they are small and a bunch! I hate this dream as much as I do when I have the one where when I talk my teeth fall out!! Yes I have been through a lot..as a child a teenager and an adult,please if you can tell me what this could mean?

i have had this dream that I have a big bunch of hair down my throat and I’m trying to pull all this hair out but it just keeps coming and coming. Like I’m trying to rid myself of something. 🙁 I feel very distressed afterwards. I’ve been having difficulty with intimacy or being intimate . I wonder if this has anything to do with the dreAm ?
I have this same dream obwr and over and over again
I was seeing someone that I just recently broke up with on the side of my s.o. I dreamt last night I told the s.o. all about him. He asked if I loved him and I said no, and my s.o. said, that’s ok then. We were on a picnic table by a huge sign in a town. Then the scene changed to me having a grandmother of another race. She told me she was 81 but was actually 101. We were running (and she was far, far ahead of me, almost to the pint I couldn’t catch up) and I had my child with me (he is now 18, but in my dream very young) She was running through different parts of town and took a shortcut through a church. We then made it to her apartment which she said “There are no photos of you or your side of the family but you have to leave, your ride is here and waiting.” I left but with her dog, ferret, and other animals. When we got to our destination, it was a farm and the ferret got loose and I had to capture it. I did, then started to spit out metal shavings from my mouth ok. I woke up sweating and scarred.
My fiancé dreamt we were at a hospital and came upon a man under sheets on a gurney, but was moving. My fiancé uncovers him to find the man’s mouth sewn shut but trying to speak. He couldn’t be understood.
