Rails Railway Train Station
Opportunity or choices in life; your life direction if on train – or the direction the events in life are taking you, perhaps your direction of growth. Sometimes the train refers to the direction or events you are involved in with others, a train of events’ in fact.
Carriages: A particular compartments or facet of your life. The situation or environment you are in at the moment – perhaps with particular people.
Leaving someone behind or being left behind: Feelings about loss of spouse; or break-up of relationship; being left; change of some sort; watching someone take a direction or get involved in things that mean parting.
Lines or tracks: The rails themselves represent orthodoxy, the accepted way of going about things, moral values or a direction that is hard to change, and perhaps shared with others. Thus one can say someone has gone off the rails. A communal or generally accepted direction; habitual pathways of thought or action; rigidly fixed to certain attitudes or way of life; inflexibility.
Missing the train: feeling left out of opportunity; sense of inadequacy; held back by one’s own hesitations; hidden desire to avoid change or to make one’s individual journey; not connecting with an opportunity or events.
Railroad crossing: A need for awareness and observation in case of danger. Possible block to progress. Conflict between your personal direction — the car – and the prescribed direction of the train.
Railway station: Moving toward something new; making a choice or having a choice of directions – directions that may need decision, planning and or choice; changing scenes – i.e. from family to work environment; leaving something behind – a relationship, one’s youth; one’s ability to change; effort to get somewhere in life or experience something new; parting or meeting, saying farewell or waiting for someone; changes in a relationship or work. The station can also depict the ‘station’ you have reached, or are moving toward in life. So it might therefore be a situation you are in or trying to reach.
Sometimes ‘station’ in your dream can mean your life state or station. So it is your present life situation. The station you try to reach is the place or situation you will arrive at when you bring your desires and actions under direction.
The train journey: The aspect of our journey through life that has connections with other people and has a predetermined end unless you change trains. It is therefore limiting your individual will, and passing through certain stages. It may show a journey into self-awareness. And because you are being pulled along by a power other than your own efforts, it can refer to ageing and death – especially where there is a feeling of ‘departing’ or ‘time of departure’; the train of thought or experiences that carry us through life. But it refers in general to your movement through life as time passes.
The journey might be one you remember making in the past, or meeting someone from a previous journey. These can both refer to influences in your present life from prior to your birth.
Ticket: See ticket
Train engine: The energy that takes us through life; libido.
Example: I lived in a village/town at the foot of a huge mountain. I felt desperate and that I had to do something – I must climb the mountains straight away. I ran away from home, family, to straightaway start to climb the mountain. The beginning of the journey was on a train. Although it had been night and raining, now it was light and blue sky. As the train slowly climbed the mountain, I looked out on the scenery behind us. There were strange rock formations, mountain valleys, lovely vistas, so beautiful I wept openly at the beauty. Others in the carriage noticed how moved I was.
Idioms: Go off the rails; lose track of something; make tracks for; on somebody’s track. See: airport; ticket.
Useful Questions and Hints:
If I was on a train, where was I going?
Did anything important happen on the train?
Did you or did you not have a ticket?

Your interpretation is surely dependable as verified by my personal past experience that commensurate with dreams.
I dreamt i was on a train just now, going on it, i had a poloroid kamera on my chest, the train left the station i was walking around in the train, it was going fast, no one around me seemed to care about me, i sat down, in a minutes the train started to tilt and it stayed in a 90 degree angle, i thought i were going to fall but didn’t i was stuck in the chair, tried to take a selfie with the polorid but i pushed the wrong button so instead of taking a picture i was pushing the photos out of the camera. The train leveled with the ground and the train stop, the passengers, left and came on the train, it started rolling again, and started to tilt, i was now hanging from a pool, i saw a guy holding my legs up like he was lifting me legs, but he stood with no problem on the train floor, haha well maybe a bit messy written but that was my dream
I dreamed that the railroad tracks where submerged under water and the train was floating on top of the water following the tracks (which were under water)
Dear Brenda – In most dreams water indicates emotions, moods and flow of feeling energy. Because of the nature of water it lends itself to depicting aspects of how you relate to your feelings.
Floating on water can be a symbol of being moved by passing feelings instead of inner purpose.
What you do not reveal is how you felt in the dream.
If we take away the images and events occurring in a dream and simply look to see what feelings or emotions are evident, the dream is often more understandable than if we try to interpret the symbols. Feelings in dreams are nearly always undistorted. We therefore do not need to interpret them, simply to recognise them and see if we can recognise where they occur in waking life.

Another important thing to remember is that most of what we do is habitual. It takes no thought or effort to do it. Habits feel right because they have been done for so long. Even emotional responses are often habitual.

gratitude for your website ! That night I dreamed I ran into a train line next to train the doors were open was a freight train. I was carrying in his hands a box of my stuff that I ran and put the boxes inside the train and then she stood waiting for the train to leave leading this box.Do you mean something about letting go ?
Thanks
Daniela
Dear Daniela – Thank you for your appreciation of Tony’s Life Work and yes, your dream could be a symbol of letting go. You do not reveal what “stuff” you packed in the box and it will be helpful to explore WHAT you are letting go.
Could it be memories, ideas or experiences? Did you explore them, investigated them or cared to open to consciousness before you packed them?
Could it be talents you have not used yet, ideas you have not applied, loving words you have not uttered?

So please use “Being the stuff” and/or “Talking as the stuff”; for each thing you packed in the box is a symbol for something in your mind.

Thanks Anna! I will think about it.
Dear Daniela – When you enter your dream try “thinking in images” for it is more helpful.

I had a dream in which I was riding on the outside front of the train engine facing forward standing up with the center of the train up against my back. I was not scared but laughing and having fun. I also dropped a deck of red playing cards(in the dream) that a friend has just given me in real life. What does it mean?
Dear Christoph – Your dream suggests that you have a lot of energy which takes you through life.

The meaning of your dream depends on what you associate with your red playing cards.
See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/association-of-ideas-with-dreams/#Working
Is it about gambling? Taking responsible risks in life?
Playing cards can depict the game of life in which you win or lose, or are an observer. If you regularly play cards, then it can suggest your skill in dealing with plans or schemes that involve other people. In other words, are you playing your cards right? So it could indicate planning, scheming, figuring out moves in a relationship, etc. It is very noticeable in playing cards that our response is often dictated by what card the other person or people put down, links with the portrayal of moves made in response to others. The card game for many people is a time of socialising, relaxing, and being in an environment other than work.

So what do you associate with “drop it”, in this case your playing cards?
Did your feelings change in some way when you dropped the deck of cards?

I dreamt that my children and I caught the wrong train, than got off at the next stop so that we could make it back to my husband. We finally backtracked and than the right train shows up,I was so anxious that this train may leave my husband. As soon as the doors was getting ready to shut my husband catches it.I was so relieved and happy.
Dear Jalisa – I can understand that you were relieved being able to continue your journey with your children and husband again.
On the other hand I do believe that there is nothing wrong with journeying without him for a while whenever Life puts you for the choice, as long as you can find your way back to him, which you were able to do.

You might take home with you valuable experiences which you were not able to find within the relationship with your husband and these experiences can enrich both your and his inner world and those of your (inner) children.
I wonder if you noticed any change in your children in this dream.
These children in your dream might be aspects from you that needed this experience to grow.
Children appear in so many roles in dreams, and mostly point to those facets of oneself that either were hurt in your own childhood, or have not grown beyond that stage.
I feel it will be helpful to enter this dream while awake and explore what this “wrong train” is about and if you might be able to perceive it as “the right train” too.

So while awake and relaxed imagine yourself back in the dream and continue it as fantasy or a daydream. Alter the dream in any way; experiment with it; play with it, until you find a way to fully feel at ease with it. In doing this you must not ignore the feelings of resistance and spontaneous emotion and fantasy that may occur. Satisfaction comes only when you have found a way of integrating these into your conscious imagining.

Good Luck!

I keep having a dream where I am catching a train and I always find some people I know from school on the station and I catch the train with them to begin with but as the train goes on they just aren’t there anymore, sometimes they will become a different person that I don’t know or just completely disappear, it doesn’t bother me because I’m trying to get away from all that.
Anyway whenever I catch this line in real life I always cut the stations up into sections for some reason (just a thing I started as a kid lol ^-^) and like the first 5 stations are the coast areas, then there is a long tunnel and at the end of that are 4 stations just outside coast but also a far distance from outer city, then after that it goes 3 outer city stations then the last 2 being inner city. I basically started breaking these little sections up going off the graffiti, the further away I got the less local graffiti I would see, and the graffiti will also improve in style both in dream and real life.
In the dream I would always go from the stations “ww” to “sthf”
But the dream would always stop at or continue but the train would never go Into the tunnel, and I get really frustrated because I don’t like the coast area in real life, infact I’m trying to move from my mums, study at tafe because I don’t cope in school and I can’t cope at home, and move in with my uncle but he has been holding out with an answer and it’s really getting me down and frustrated because if he says no at the last second I’m stuffed. And I think this dream is me trying to get free to my uncles and start a new and the train stopping or dream ending at this tunnel is his uncertainty. Or it’s me feeling like no one wants me to leave and achieve higher in life than what I will on the coast so I can’t get past this tunnel which I have marked the end of the coast, I don’t really know lol
Anyway a bit of detail about the dream: it’s always really dull, the colours are like rusty, copper, baige, dark red, yellowish Orange. And the already dark stuff like the roads, dying grass, train tracks with the rocks at the bottom, graffiti everywhere. It’s like that all the way to the tunnel, I can’t see down through the tunnel it’s all just black, there’s never any sun. Whenever there’s water it’s always dark grey and mucky with big swell breaking (even with places that have no swell). Anyway I’m not going to go on anymore because I could go on forever lol but I think I already put enough. I don’t know what I’m trying to get out of this comment, I just wanted to put something… If you want to put some of your knowledge or understanding on this please feel free!
I dreamt of being on train with my small son. The train’s compartments were some what dirty. The train looked as if it used to have windows and doors but have been long gone. It was night. The train and the track seemed to be elevated far in the sky above trees. I knew the train was about to depart. I knew if me and my son were not fastened by a seatbelt we would be in danger of falling off the train once it began its journey. I was fearful. I had my seatbelt on but my small son did not. My panic climbed as I was unable to reach my son to fasten him in as the train started to pull. I woke up terrified that I was unable to save my son.
Had a dream that I missed the train, because the guy that paid for the trip, also went missing with my ticket. However came back to give me the ticket later on.
Ndabezinhle – I cannot be sure about the meaning because I depend on a fuller description of the dream. But I think you were planning a change that was sure to go okay, but you lacked the ticket, your right to make the journey or change. But you correct this and you can now go ahead with whatever you wished to do.
Tony
Hi
Hi to you too Chiyan. I hope you found what you were looking for.
Tony

My friends and I were hanging out at a train station like it was some sort of party and this guy that I’ve been in love with for over a year was with us. He’s never committed to me however. And a train was coming so we ran but the guy gets his legs ran over so I ran back to him but it was all a dream and his legs were fine.
