Witch

The fears or difficult feelings and relationship habits you have developed in relationship with your mother. Because these feelings are now part of you, if female, you can of course become the witch in relationship to someone else. The witch in drama is often depicted as an expression of vindictiveness, jealousy etc.

Witch on black Pegasus

Example: ‘I talked about my mother, she was standing before me in full anger and blaming me for bringing out the witch in her. She said look at my eyes, they were horrid to see, all red and angry and she was dark.’ Lesley M.

Witchcraft started long before the written word, for it was a natural part of many women’s life, and still may be. As life forms humans have a heritage of being an outcrop of creation itself, and so carry a huge animal heritage of finding healing herbs, of having insight into others and the future, of being channels of power and also having an inbuilt entry into the inner world – often called the psychic world.

No plant or creature grows from a dead seed, and each living seed carries within it all the past gathered from all its forebears. So, the seed in your mother’s womb is as old as and even older than human kind, and you carry that wisdom or memories in you. But in this life you developed a new brain, and the memories, education and programming you gathered this time are what you built your personality from, but beneath that is a very ancient self. It is this ancient self that witches had or have access to. For witchcraft isn’t a club or a religion one belongs to, it is a natural thing born in many women, as natural as being able to have children.

As such it had no organised way of existing, like early Christianity it had not rules because it was an outgrowth of the life process itself – ever creative – but as with Christianity it was taken and formalised by the Catholic Church. Witchcraft didn’t conform to these rules, because witches had no formalised way of being but like everything in nature they were all unique – fingerprints; something the church abhorred. This led to the terrible murdering of women who showed signs of contact with the ancient self – and then as an excuse to kill, murder any man or woman who showed signs of uniqueness – reading and interpreting the bible in their own way, forming alternative beliefs or practices, or standing up and denouncing the church. Unfortunately the media, films and TV, tend to use the old clichés about witches and portray them as evil, jealous and revengeful. But if you are not imprisoned by the Christian view, your dream witch can be a wonder to explore

I was dreaming, i was there, then a girl and a boy in the mountains, we went to the boy’s house in the mountain, then i saw a fridge in the mountains, the boy said that just say ,” just us, two of us, always together” then we said that and there is a portal inside that fridge, then we also came out with a fridge. Then we saw we are in the garden with a big acacia tree. Then all of us 3, went to that tree and we saw two witches, one is for healing one is for cursing. Then the boy said that if we go to them, they will catch us, then, it was raining but sunny, then i shouted to them, the 2 witches are catching us, we also went to that fridge , then the girl was being almost catched by the witches but she escaped from them and went inside the fridge abd we both safe from them. What is the meaning of my dream?

i had a dream of a spirit of a witch posessing my family and the only way to rid us of her was to dismember the family member who was at the time posessed, as soon as that was completed she would appear in the next family member. it was unusual because we were running through a swamp nd i have never been to any swamps

When I was younger I had a reoccurring dream that witches would come to get me when I went to sleep. I’m not sure if I was supposed to be one of them or if they just told me that. They would identify me by my eyes so I would keep them so tightly closed when I went to bed so they couldn’t get me. I would fall asleep they would inevitably get me and fly me somewhere else. I don’t think they meant to harm me but I was definitely frightened. Sometimes my mom would save me … but as she was coming to save me I realized she was on a broomstick and then she would morph into a witch and I would realize it wasn’t my mom it was a witch pretending to be my mom to get me to stay with them. This dream has stuck with me for years.

I dreamt that i was running away from witches (the stereotypical, green skinned witches), i was running, jumping and ducking everything, then, i came across a wood bridge, it was really long, and extremely above the ground. While crossing, two witches, a big one and what seemed to be a little girl, a little witch. She fled towards me slowly, as if i were an animal who she didn’t want to scare, then, she started moving faster, i was about to throw myself off the bridge, but before that happened, the bridge broke apart, and i started falling, then i felt myself being carried by someone, it was iron man, he saved me, i looked below, and saw some witches looking up with no hostile intention, the floor was grass, everything was grass, no flowers, no trees, just green grass and the sky was all shades of grey, like it was about to rain hard.

It’s not the first time he appears in my dreams. Last time i saw him in a dream i created a garden, but now there’s was only grass in my dream.

Dear Michelle – I believe that “running, jumping and ducking” was one of the ways you used to deal with difficult and painful situations in your childhood.
This may also be expressed by the little girl’s understanding how to approach you; “She fled towards me slowly, as if I were an animal who she didn’t want to scare”.
The fight-or-flight-or-freeze response, hyperarousal, or the acute stress response is a physiological reaction that occurs in response to a perceived harmful event, attack, or threat to survival and it is an expression of your reptilian brain; http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/brain-levels-and-dreams/#reptilebrain
Being “programmed” to run, jump and duck can mean that certain triggers in the present may cause this being reactive to the past (rather than receptive to the present); your inner child is still fleeing from any perceived threat. See also http://dreamhawk.com/health-and-healing/inner-baby-and-child/
You become aware that the threat is perceived (and so not a fact) when “I looked below, and saw some witches looking up with no hostile intention”.
Falling from the bridge and being carried by iron man sounds like a first step to feeling safe again which is why you are able to perceive the witches differently; they are below because you can look at them now from a more detached point of view.
Iron man may therefore be a symbol for the part in you that is able to stand up and save you from your habitual response to a perceived threat.
Because of the interference of this inner aspect, you can move beyond your fear and this inner growth is reflected by the symbol of grass.
“And the sky was all shades of grey, like it was about to rain hard” may suggest that you are about to release feelings.
Rain can be a cleansing experience when it clears the ground and grass grows because it is watered. So it then represents a cleansing of worries or thoughts and emotions.
I feel it is important that you recognize these first inner steps that enable you to free yourself from being reactive to the past.
Reading the book “Mindsight” written by Daniel Siegel may help you too to deepen your understanding of this process so that you can practice to consciously take the steps out of the flight response into feeling safe within yourself again.
Whenever you feel up to it, you can use http://dreamhawk.com/approaches-to-being/opening-to-life/ to lay down your inner armour and “let it rain”.
    Anna 🙂
