Kidnap Kidnapped

If the dreamer is the victim of kidnappers: The forces of our own fears and negative feelings are often presented as an external force or organised gang who victimise us. If such feelings are recognised for what they are, self created emotions, they lose their power. Being kidnapped also suggests loss of security or feelings of security, or someone else forcing their will on one.

Kidnapping family member or friend: Because the family member or friend is probably used in your dream to represent your memories or feelings about them see Characters and People in Dreams.

In many cases it represents feelings of your own vulnerability, that your own fears or your anxiety about being trapped is holding you hostage. Also that because you feelvulnerable you may become captured by someone else’s forceful manner of approach.

Kidnapping someone else: Influencing someone else against their will. This may of course be about oneself, referring to forcing oneself to do something that ones feelings are against.

Useful Questions and Hints:

Have you recently felt influenced by someone else or by your own anxieties?

Has anyone been bullying you or browbeat you?

Do you feel anxious about family members being badly influenced?

I had a really long dream, so it starts off with me at an arcade (a small one) and I was trying to steal this prize. One of the workers came over and asked what I was doing and I was telling him i was trying to see if I could buy it. He told me no so I started walking around. I walking to this section which was a toy store. I saw my mom sitting on a chair in on of the aisles so I went to go talk to her. I don’t remember what we had talked about but it was a short conversation. I see this girl, around the same age as me. She looked at me and started to chase me around the other aisles and she seemed really angry. She was holding a small tin plate with some kind of powder. She had pigtails and dressed as if she was in kindergarten, she chased me and I asked her why she was mad at me. She told me I ruined her life by bleaching her face. Then I see her face with shards of glass, and while she while thing happens I could see my mom sitting there doing nothing. She chases me into the arcade area and the same worker comes and asked what was going on. She explains to him how I ruined her life and then she pressed this button (it was on one of the shelves in the prize room) and out of nowhere in slow motion powder fell from the ceiling and i got dizzy. At this point I can see myself and what is going on instead of the me inside of me. She injects me with some sort of liquid and told me to drive to her house. ( I am 14 years old and in this dream I was around 16 ) I couldn’t control myself and I drove through the traffic. And it felt like I was in a video game and I was in my car racing. I flew over a cliff and landed into the ocean. I got out and the girl was waiting and swam over and got me. She lived on an island with a small village. We walked over to her house. I don’t know what happened but I woke up in this bed outside of their garden ( I still could not control myself ) there were a bunch of tomatoes, pumpkins etc. I was there for hours. An old woman and her old husband came out of the house with the girl, I assumed that these were her parents or grandparents. They would wack me with a broom if I didn’t keep the garden in shape. The next day I was working more and then I see my dad. I walked over to him and some how I wasn’t under the control of the girl . I still played along as if I was since they were outside watching me. Across from the house was a vintage store, there were a track of albums out that Emmy dad was looking at so I went over when the parents/grandparents were not looking. I told my dad that I was kidnapped and to call all of his friends to come. I didn’t want him to get kidnapped as well since there were three against two. His friends came over and we snook out.
That was my dream and some parts alerted very confusing. I wanted to know what it meant.

I have just woken from a dream where a 6 year old boy was kidnapped, raped and killed by a man he knew. The dream started with the parents being interviewed about the ordeal for a TV programme. The parents explained that it was the little boys birthday the day of his murder and he had wanted to sleep in his parents bed as a treat so they left him there alone and they slept elsewhere in the caravan they lived in. It then flipped to the man who killed the boy and how angry he felt with the parents leading up to the murder. Then it flipped to a moment between the boy and his mum where they’re cuddling the night he was taken and she’s describing how she wishes she’d slept/stayed that night with him. It was so vivid it felt very real. Is there an explanation for this dream? I am a mother but of 2 girls (one 6, one 8)

Hi – I am going to halt from answering your posts – the reason is that in so many of your post I give the same information to. This is because most people do not understand the difference between dreaming and waking life.

So, most of what I put in answers is my attempt at explain what dreams are really about. It would help you to understand your dreams, if you would read – http://dreamhawk.com/approaches-to-being/questions-2/#Summing

    Tony

I don’t really know the answer to this one, but have you ever wanted to birth a boy? If so there may be a way to understand the dream – if so it is saying you are standing in the way of giving birth. But try http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/acting-on-your-dream/#BeingPersonOrThing

I dreamt that I had a BBQ outside with people i dont know. After the BBQ ended it was late and I was using my phone to take poctures of the sky. The sky had letters that spelt “Scholar” (I don’t quite remember the letters). But I have been noticing two guys near the pool durring the BBQ which made me feel abit unsafe. Then I went to my room (the exact same room I have in the real world). And I saw a truck jumping and I stared at it and later my whole room moved and I saw a guy that looked like half dog and half human drivibg me away from a familair street from the real world. I took a vid of his face and told help to a whatsapp group and the police came.

P.s. I felt freaked out after I woke up too..

FYI I seen the kidnapper, he also fed me and I seen the rest of the gang they wanted to kill my fiancé

-Stephanie 2016-04-25 8:17:09

I meant a park of cats and Lynx, the dream was intense but I woke up confused and it was a weird feeling, I did not wake up scared or worried just confused

-Stephanie 2016-04-25 8:14:17

I was kidnapped by a gang that wanted to kill my fiancé, the kidnapper wanted me as in he wanted to be with me, I fleed, ran to my fiancé and told him what happen, (I was missing for cerable hours), we ran thru cemeteries, we ran thru a peak of cats and Lynx, we made it to a restaurant and sat on the roof and heard the gang behind us and kept on running, we came across two of my fiancé friends who was jumping a young boy, my fiancé was emotionally unstable and wanted to join but I told him not too because We was being chased, I told him what happen (in the dream) and he cried, the gang never got us , the dream ended because I woken up

-Athena William 2016-03-19 15:42:09

-Yasmin 2016-01-25 6:57:22

Tony, I had two dreams in one night with the theme of me being kidnapped. I woke up from the first one at about 2am as my heart was racing and the second I woke up around 4am. In the first one, there was a man who I didn’t recognise. Me and my best friend of 8 years were walking home from school and we spotted this huge billboard exclaiming that I had gone missing. The man pulled up in the car and said that he wanted me to get into the car so he could get a £1000 reward, even though I knew that I hadn’t been kidnapped. Obviously I ran but I ended up in his house and I had to smash a window to escape. That is when I woke up. The second however terrifies me more. This one is a bit more unclear, but I do remember having to hide from my father who I haven’t seen for ten years, as he threatened to kidnap me. The setting largely resembled a factory for some reason. What does all this mean? It could be my anxiety problems, but I’ve never had a dream this vivid before. Thanks.

Dear Yasmin – It will help you to understand that every image and person in your dreams is an expression of your own life process. As such it is alive and intelligent and is something sent to help you. A dream is like a projection from a movie projector, except that you are the projector.
And so everything you see as outside you is coming from you, your emotions, your fears, your beliefs, your joys and explorations and are all you, clothed in the dream images and drama. So when you dream of someone you should not feel you are dreaming about that actual person. As with most dreams, the person in the dream is not the person themselves, but is a collection of memories, associations and feeling about him or her.
What I see in your first dream – and please explore both dreams yourself as well http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/dream-yoga/ and http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/acting-on-your-dream/#BeingPerson – is that the unknown man is a reflection of a part of your inner world that is called your inner male.
One of the simplest meanings a man in your dream has is that he portrays your relationship, your feelings about, or responses to, a relationship with a man. The man in your dreams is nearly always an aspect of your own feelings, hopes and fears.
Even if it is someone you know – like your father in your second dream – the dream image is never that person.
The image of your father you have built out of your memories, your views of that person, your likes, dislikes and insights, the pains or pleasures, the things you learned in relationship with him.
    Please also read http://dreamhawk.com/dream-dictionary/father-dad/#InnerFather
In order to heal the relationship with your INNER male you might have to release and digest some of the negative feelings you have about your father; so that your inner male can become “productive” – the factory in your dream – instead of “destructive”.
You can see your inner male as a symbol for assertiveness and taking charge of situations; your mental and social power and your ability to act creatively in ‘the world’.
There are different ways you can release/digest/integrate those “missing parts of you” and you will have to explore for yourself to see what works for you.
Hiding or running away will not solve this inner issue, as you cannot hide or run away from yourself; from what is part of your inner world.
So perhaps you feel like experimenting with this approach – http://dreamhawk.com/dream-dictionary/digest/ – and with this approach – http://dreamhawk.com/approaches-to-being/the-lifestream/#Open?
Let me know if you have any questions so far Yasmin.
    Anna 🙂

Hi, i am wondering if you can help decode my dream last night. I had a dream that i was in a hospital and stole a new baby boy. In some sense, i felt like i was saving him, but there was definitely guilt and me sneaking him out. Then i kept him for a few days, but guilt sank in and i returned to the hospital to tell them what i had done. I ended up keeping the baby though. Can you help figure out what in my waking world would cause me to dream this? I woke up feeling happy and content.

-susan 2015-03-03 21:37:48

What does it mean when my daughter age 13 as recently had a nightmare she was extremely scared hiding in wardrobe and running away into woods trying to escape and getting away screaming from her dad which she hasnt seen or he hasn’t bothered with since she was the age 3 yrs old and coming into my bed with me for comfort? She could still remember the nightmare next morning..

-Reovery 2015-02-22 17:29:31

Tony…. I had a re accuring dream of my daughter being kidnapped . My daughter was young in the dream maybe about 9-10. I remember only certain parts of dream. I did not report to police until a few months later, for some reason. I remember contacting some of her friends who she was with before this happened and that they would accompany me, to the police to give the information they had.

    -Tony Crisp 2015-02-25 9:17:02

Reovery – I have to go with my feelings in tackling this dream. They lead me to wonder what happened to you about the ages of 9 and 10. I say this because you have taken an age to realise that an important part of you and family feelings were missing.

So if you imagine yourself back in the dream, and feel what it was like to realise your young being was missing, what do you feel is missing, for your actual daughter is not missing.

    Tony

      -recovery 2015-02-26 1:51:17

Tony.. In response to your interpretation , I am not sure exactly how old my daughter was in the dream . All I know is she was in elementary because her hair was in braided pig tails. I remember seeing her running and I was calling out her name and she got on a bus and was calling from the window , to her friends to come on. I don’t know what happend to me, growing up for me, to feel like something was missing. The love and nurturing, I guess. I was emotionally, neglected and neglected of the basic necessities clothing, footwear.

I had a pretty long dream…

It all started at a grocery store where my family and I were shopping. The store was owned by people that I know (only in the dream) and the owner (who was married) fell in love with me.

On my way back home, he had called my family and I for some help to get into an apartment that he claimed to have lost the keys for and I (be caused I was the smallest built) has to go through a window. But it felt like a trap!! Because i went to the lock and just broke it open with hand. There were some on lookers who looked so suspicious.

I suddenly heard a baby crying and went through all the apartments looking for this baby and eventually found him and when I went pick him up, I heard the grocery store guy arguing with a woman. And weirdly the baby spoke and said thanks and that he was fine…

The grocery guy came out and thank me and after I found myself waking up in a room with three other women and a guy in the kitchen. And these women told me I was not allowed to leave…ever… and I was to do, what I was told. When I met the guy he didn’t seem as bad I thought only that I was never to got to the door.

When I went to bed that I woke up in another apartment with other women and another guy. And when this guy went out I had escaped only not knowing how to get out the building and found myself in an empty apartment and suddenly the grocery guy appears and so does all the other suspicious people that was there that day I disappeared.

He said that he was trying to look for me but when no tried to call my family he came at me with a syringe and we had a bit of struggle and I got the syringe and stabbed him with it…The other people all started running away

And that how it ended……

Phew!…..that was long

Hello Tony,
I came across your site whilst looking for some help on an odd dream. In the dream, I was kidnapped by an Asian gang. They held me down and tattooed me; I had a large tattoo of a snake on my chest, along with others over my body. Afterwards, everyone was showing me respect for…being able to withstand the tatting? Not sure why…nor am I sure what any of it means. I am an Asian male, don’t know if that helps. Many thanks in advance.

    -Tony Crisp 2013-07-24 8:58:03

Brown – A dream arises from a part of you that is usually unknown except as it expresses as a dream or vision. The major part of you is the same and is called the unconscious. It is what we could also call Life – for it is the power that keeps us alive, keeps our heart beating, our food digesting etc.

In the dream you were held down while painful thing happened and you ended up with the tattoo of a snake – something to last a lifetime. In Asia the dragon has the same meaning as the snake. It is, in your dream, a living representation of Life – but usually it means the unexpressed potential of Life. In India they call it Kundalini.

To me it is saying that you were respected because you are carrying the great living potential that will slowly flower into your life, opening new realisations and abilities. But it is a great gift, and it needs to be cared for and nurtured. See http://dreamhawk.com/approaches-to-being/martial-art-of-the-mind/

You were held down meet the experience of powerlessness, or the hugeness of their Life which they are usually unaware if, it feels like something alien or attacking, it is a shock. As we begin to meet the Hugeness that we are, we often react to it in our dreams or in waking with fear or panic. So we dream of being attacked by aliens or frightening creatures or people. If we realise that they are things we have created through our own fear we will pass on. But it is only our small self image, our ego, that reacts because it feels powerless, even though in reality the Hugeness is part of our totality. It is the enormous potential you have within you, it is Life.

    Tony

-Ray Williams 2011-08-11 16:29:57

Although I’ve searched several dream sites, there are rarely interpretations of various aspects and only a direct reference to a particular word. In the latest instance, I dreamed about looking for or finding a young girl (mid-late 20’s) who had been kidnapped…couldn’t find even a basic idea which covered that aspect.

    -Tony Crisp 2011-08-31 11:30:58

Ray – It’s true – although some words or subjects are covered more fully than others. I searched a database of dreams including over 3000 dreams so only dealt with what was there. But I do try to update when I come across a new idea to look at.

But also it is context that is extremely important, so that is why it is important to think of the whole dream rather than a single image. So kidnap plus girl could mean all sort of things, Here are some examples:

In Penang I sleep with a 15 year old girl with a woman’s body (large, firm boobs). We agree to meet in Penang, but after getting her pay check, she’s not seen. But she was seen (nude) only a few minutes before. She was to catch the plane back with us. She is a young girl, looking for someone to stay with\love. She is sleeping around trying to find somebody. She has a great body. I fear foul play – that someone has taken advantage / kidnapped this girl.

I am on a boat. A woman has been kidnapped. I have to bring a paintbrush soaked with lacquer. I soak it, some of the lacquer blowing against the boat because of the wind. Then I get going, get off the boat. I race through traffic signals to try to get to her – to get where I am going.

There are only those two mentions in what are now more than 4000 dreams. But to generalise:

Kidnapping someone else: Influencing someone else against their will. This may of course be about oneself, referring to forcing oneself to do something that ones feelings are against.

girl Feelings; emotional self; young sexuality; vulnerability.
In male’s dream: Emotions; sexual feelings; daughter. But a young girl can also be used to depict a new pattern, a new opportunity to relate to a female. In contrast to an old woman, the girl is a shift from old patterns of relationship you may have developed with your mother or a wife. So she could represent a development in you away from old and perhaps destructive patterns.

So it would be good to read your dream – or even explore it yourself. See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/acting-in-your-dream/

    Tony
