Dear Tony, best wishes to you & thanks for the most creditable of dream interpretation websites; the rest pale! At your convenience, are you able to make some comments regarding the below dream of my partner (her permission is given)? It appears to be a one off & not part of a series.

“I, Rebecca, am in a house looking out of a front(?) window towards a cliff that falls to a beach abreast of the ocean. I see a crowd of people on the beach looking at two men who appear to be having fits. I call my (real) work manager, Emma, to look, with me, at the scene on the beach. When I turn back to the scene it has changed where, instead, there is now a crowd of ‘native’ people and who are smashing up one of several large skulls lying on the beach. I am very concerned about this activity & call for them to stop. Instead, they throw rocks at up at us. As the rocks come close I notice they appear to become very large &, therefore, could cause great injury to us.”

Thank you,

Peter.

Hi Rebecca – An important dream with many possibilities. Sorry for so many links, but we are mostly not educated in our inner life of dreams.

Looking out of a window shows the you are taking in, seeing something, which means you are trying to understand what is going in inside you. Dreams are mostly about our inner life -see http://dreamhawk.com/inner-life/inner-world/#MakesInner

You are between two immense meanings, as far as dreams are concerned, the sea and the cliff. The sea – we are such a huge being but have been trained to believe we are just a body and personality, but we have enormous depths – the ocean. See http://dreamhawk.com/inner-life/the-unconscious-2/

The cliff may represent the other enormity shown by thousands or millions of years of condensed memory which we all hold within us for we are the living process of what started billions of year ago as life on our planet. There is no break in the line.

Then you witness a crowd – showing that a great many aspects of you are trying to understand what is happening in you – see http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/autonomous-complex/

The fits are probably a way we try to release traumas – see http://dreamhawk.com/dream-dictionary/fit-fits/

What do you associate with Emma – see http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/characters-or-people-in-dreams/

Maybe she represent for you capability? She leads you to a new view – the native people. In a sense the fits released a contact with a deeper part pf you that you as a personality are concerned about and what to break contact with. The modern western adult is often very much out of touch with the life giving processes within them and may feel isolated and often ill at ease in the world. The black figures in dreams, or the native, can give us a much needed connection and balance. It can also be an image of less sophisticated parts of you.

The native is a door to this underneath world, the place inside us. They understand and move easily in it and know themselves as part of a larger life, which is often totally missing in Western raised children.

This part of you is busy destroying the old views or programs of life we have inherited from our ancestors. See http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/the-conjuring-trick/

No wonder they are throwing rocks at you. See http://dreamhawk.com/approaches-to-being/lifes-little-secrets/ and http://dreamhawk.com/body-and-mind/peoples-experiences-of-lifestream/

Dear Tony, my oldest brother passed away on July 30, 2015 from suicide. Last week, I dreamt that I was walking on my property’s open fields (I live in a condo), with my ex and our daughter, and I came upon a locked shed. A golden yellow medieval key it materialized in my hand and I was able to open the shed effortlessly. Inside it was empty, except for my prized watch next to a large insect, and in the back were some garden tools. Other than that, the shed was totally clean. My daughter picked up my watch as I am phobic about mice and insects. What could this mean???

Dear Pilar Katerina – In the context of your dream I see your walking on an open field as a symbol of the room (the shed) that is available to grow or to explore, space to expand and opportunity to explore new aspects of yourself.
In your dream you are willing to use this opportunity, which I believe is expressed by the golden yellow, medieval key manifesting in your hand; a thought was manifested through the decision you made.
That’s the moment you said to yourself: “Open the shed”; that decision may have been subconscious, but it was still a decision. Without that decision the key would never manifest; EVERY thought is truly an intention and you are very clear in this dream about what you want; there are no conflicting thoughts.
I believe the key is golden and medieval because it is an ancient law on which our (inner) world is based; most of our (inner) resources will come AFTER we have made the decision, not before.
What you find in the shed will also need your personal associations, so please read http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/association-of-ideas-with-dreams/#Working
I believe your prized watch next to a large insect, is a symbol of how you could use your precious time on earth; the large insect can represent your conscience and guilt which reminds you of feelings you might sooner forget – perhaps insects represent these areas because they live their life in our house and garden largely unseen – so depict thoughts and feelings occurring on the edge of consciousness. But Because the key was golden, the large insect can represent a link with your feelings of positive change and realisation. You will know which it is when you become the insect – http://dreamhawk.com/dream-encyclopedia/acting-on-your-dream/#BeingPerson

The tools to explore these feelings are present in the shed as well; “and in the back were some garden tools”.
Did you see a spade? I ask because it can be used to dig in to your unconscious; it could be a symbol of the techniques you can use to uncover your past experience or what is unconscious and therefore buried.
    See also http://dreamhawk.com/dream-dictionary/dig-digging-excavation/
Does this give you a start with your dream?
    Anna 🙂

Dear Tony,
I’m still flooded with the images and feelings of the dream I had early this morning. I couldn’t find some of the symbols in your site so I would like your help in understanding them. I thank you so much.

I was driving a car and Laura, my sister in law, sits in the passenger sit. A soggy snow covers everything.
At a crossing the car’s engine switches off and it doesn’t go on again. I’m aware that we’re sitting perpendicularly in the middle of a highly trafficked road and feel anxious about the other drivers.
I tell Laura to sit at the wheel so I can push the car to the huge parking lot there in front of us.
After few meters, maybe the car goes on again or maybe because of the tilt angle of the road, the car moves without my help and I see Laura parking in the thick soggy snow and the car slowly sinking in the watery mix, till it completely disappears in what was a pool of water.
I am in shock, think that that cannot be happening and scream Laura’s name, I scream her to get out of there now, now, now.
With relief I see her emerging and coming out from the icy pond carrying her purse, her clothes are dry, her hair impeccable and she’s in no way feeling emotional distress.
